Chapter 182: Full

Regardless of her moans of refusal, they both went three more rounds before dawn. It wasn’t until the sun was fully peeking out of the clouds, closer to noon, that she slowly stirred awake.

Her hands moved to cover her face from the glare of the sun through the window, hoping to get more sleep as she tightly shut her eyes. Only a few minutes passed before she angrily snapped her eyes open, glaring at the window, wishing she didn’t have to get up to close it.

But it was at that moment that she realized she was the only one on the bed...and in the room. Her forehead scrunched up in confusion as she looked around, only to discover that not only was the space beside her empty, but the sheets had also been changed. It was clear Cain hadn’t slept on the other side.

Still, Violet ignored this fact, focusing instead on the chain that she could still see firmly locked around her leg. ’Don’t tell me he locked me up and left me here!’ she thought to herself, refusing to accept that the main reason she had slept with him—to gain his favor—had been completely useless.

’It’s not like there’s anywhere to go!’ she thought with a frown as she scrambled off the bed, tossing the sheets covering her aside. Her face scrunched up again as she noticed that not only was she naked, but there were red, visible mosquito-like marks all over her skin.

’...this didn’t happen even when I was his lover!’ she angrily thought as she walked over to her room...the bathroom, to take a bath, refusing to use his own. To Violet, it was already enough that she had slept with him willingly...the memory of the way she had called out his name made her want to find the perfect place to bury her head and never come out.

She took her bath and was just about to pick out a suitable shirt and pants to wear when she pulled open the wardrobe, only to see short dresses that Violet wouldn’t have been averse to wearing if they weren’t so short.

’I’m not tall, but how short does he think I am...’ she mumbled under her breath as she found one to wear, not surprised when the flare skirt of the black gown barely reached the middle of her thighs.

Putting on a pair of sandals, Violet couldn’t help but be taken aback as she looked at herself in the mirror, marveling at the fact that she had never worn something that looked so good.

But it wasn’t until she stepped back outside and realized that food had been delivered that she took a deep breath and sat by the table, munching on the delicacies in front of her.

Compared to her time in the cell, it almost felt like she was living the life of a king...as long as she ignored the chain tied firmly around her ankle. It wasn’t until her stomach was completely full that Violet finally stopped eating with a loud burp, resting her back against the chair with a light smile on her face.

At that moment, she couldn’t help but feel like staying in the mansion was a thousand times better than anywhere else. Moreover...it couldn’t be compared to her parents, who had basically sold her. But the thought had just occurred to her when a huge frown replaced the smile on her face.

’I guess blood really is thicker than water!’ she thought to herself, thinking about her parents for the first time ever as she began to wonder if something had happened to them instead of accepting the fact that they had abandoned her.

’I’m a witch in a werewolf district! There’s no way they’ll willingly abandon me!’ she thought to herself, even as she rested, waiting for Cain to come back so that she could beg him to unchain her, even if she had to shamelessly use her body again.

But hours went by, and nothing changed. Violet fell asleep and woke up...ate and watched movies as she languished on the bed, and regardless, she saw no signs of Cain. Having tried to move closer to the door to knock out of complete and utter boredom, only to realize the chains didn’t reach that far.

’He definitely planned this out!’ she thought to herself, even as she wondered why he wasn’t back yet as more thoughts began to form in her head. ’What? He had a taste of me and he’s satisfied?’ she wondered, finding it unbelievable considering how enthusiastic he had been the night before.

’He-he found someone else?’ she thought, surprised to hear her heart thump heavily in her chest as she realized that it was a scenario she couldn’t even bring herself to think of, as the idea of it made her nauseous.

Realizing that the very thing she had been trying to prevent—falling for Cain and wanting more...was something that was already happening. She was a witch, and beyond that, Cain was a Lord. ’Just the council finding out about my identity was enough for them to go to war! A war she felt Cain would obsessively agree to, considering his complete disregard for people’s lives!’

’Apart from sex...what’s so good about being his mate?’ she wondered to herself, wondering what he saw in her as she stared outside, not surprised to see that darkness had completely fallen, even as she slowly felt the urge to doze off and sleep. Unexpectedly, she heard the door push open and was surprised to see Cain enter, even though she had been expecting him.

Jerking off the bed, she knelt as she watched him move closer with a sly smile on his face. "Sitting on all fours like that! You really look like a pet!" he said, rolling up the sleeves of the black shirt he wore, his hair tousled in a fashion that made it look like he had just woken up, which somehow made a frown appear on her face as her chest ached from the different thoughts that went through her mind.

Putting aside the angry retort that had been on the edge of her lips, about to refute the fact that she was a pet, she instead asked something else in a much softer manner. "Where have you been?" she asked, doing her best to stamp down memories of all that had happened when they had been naked in the sheets the night before, as she tried to act more confident than she felt, his eyes fixed on her with an intensity that she was used to.

"Why? Did you miss me?" Cain asked, and Violet desperately wanted to bring up her chains, but instead, she nodded her head, watching him drop the documents he held in his hands before he moved closer to her, easily picking her off the bed as he nuzzled his nose right into her chest in a way that had her heart thumping and skipping like an abandoned dog. frёewebnoѵēl.com

"Yes!" she whispered, watching Cain lift her off the bed and towards the bathroom as the smile on his face widened, and he nodded.

"Good! You should!" he said with a confident look on his face, even as he slowly unzipped her gown, leading her into the bathroom with an intense look in his eyes that said they weren’t going in there to do anything water-related.

"I-I’m tired! I can’t tonight!" she hurriedly told him, even as she watched him nod his head and instantly agree. "Okay! You can bathe me instead!" he said, even as he carried her in. Violet waited for the best time to bring up the chains issue.

But again, by the time they got back to bed, the only thing that kept Cain’s hands off her was her pretending to have completely fallen asleep until she did, intent on waking up early to talk with him. Only to wake up the next morning before dawn and discover that he was gone.

Her mouth dropped open with no words coming out as she internally boiled in repressed anger.
