Medical and Martial God-Chapter 228: Feels Good?
Ye Xiu left the gym and returned to his car, but he did not immediately head home. Instead, he took out his phone and scrolled through the chat history of the "Kill Ye Xiu Fund Group."
He almost burst out laughing! This bunch of morons actually thought he was dead!
At that moment, Gong Jin called. "Young Master, our intelligence agents report that all the people who framed you ten years ago, along with their families, have gone to Qingfeng Road."
"I already know," Ye Xiu said.
"The investigation into the Shen Family is ongoing," Gong Jin continued, "but there’s a piece of news you might find interesting. Tomorrow evening, the Shen Family’s third young lady, Shen Monong, and the Lian Family’s eldest young master, Lian Zhengrong, are holding an engagement dinner."
An engagement dinner? Ye Xiu narrowed his eyes. According to the information from Qing Luan, the Shen Family had used marriage alliances to bring the Xiong Family and other Ancient Martial Families and sects from Qi Yun Dao under their influence. Now they’re trying to pull the Lian Family, the top Ancient Martial Family on Qingfeng Road, into their camp as well.
Just then, Qin Qing and Chloe opened the car doors and got in.
"I have to leave for Qingfeng Road immediately!" Ye Xiu announced. He had originally planned to wait until Gong Jin finished investigating the Shen Family, but now he had to go early. Not only were Su Mo and his group heading there, but he also had to disrupt the marriage alliance between the Shen and Lian Families.
"So urgent?" Qin Qing asked, startled. "Can I come with you?"
"I haven’t figured out the Shen Family’s true strength yet, so it’s better if you don’t go," Ye Xiu said, taking off his Huang Quan suit and handing it to her.
"Alright then. Be careful." Qin Qing wasn’t particularly worried about his safety. After all, who in the world today could possibly threaten Huang Quan? With that, she and Chloe got out of the car.
Ye Xiu stomped on the accelerator, speeding straight toward Qingfeng Road. Jin Ye City was very close to Qingfeng Road. A normal drive would take less than two hours, but at Ye Xiu’s near-racing speed, he would arrive in under an hour.
「On the other side!」
Qin Qing and Chloe returned to their compound. Chloe went to her own villa, while Qin Qing headed to the one she shared with Ye Xiu. She entered to find a flamboyant young man sitting on the living room sofa, with a bodyguard standing beside him.
"Who are you?" Qin Qing asked, puzzled as to why the maids hadn’t reported a visitor. In truth, they had, but only to Ye Xiu, who had forgotten to tell her. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"You..." Upon seeing Qin Qing, Gao Wenshuai’s eyes went wide. He stood up unsteadily, breathing heavily as he asked, "You... you’re Ye Xiu’s wife, Qin Qing?"
"I am," Qin Qing replied, her brow furrowing slightly. She detested his lecherous gaze.
Damn it all! Ye Xiu actually married such a divine beauty! It’s an absolute waste! Gao Wenshuai walked up to Qin Qing, unabashedly leering as he looked her up and down. Her looks were top-tier! Her figure was top-tier! The woman was simply perfect! For a goddess like her to marry Ye Xiu... she must have been completely blind!
"I was getting pretty annoyed after looking for you all day without success," Gao Wenshuai said, his breathing quickening. "But now that I’ve seen you, my mood has suddenly become very, very good."
"Who are you? And what do you want with me?" Qin Qing asked, fighting the urge to slap him.
"I’m the eldest son of the Gao Family Pharmaceutical Group from Qingqiu Road. My father is Gao Hongquan. You must be familiar with him, right?" Gao Wenshuai asked sleazily.
Hearing the name Gao Hongquan of the Gao Family Pharmaceutical Group, the warmth on Qin Qing’s face instantly turned to ice. The Gao Family Pharmaceutical Group was one of the masterminds who had framed the Ye Family ten years ago. They had been extremely active, pouring money and effort into the campaign to smear Ye Xiu.
"Why are you looking for me?" Qin Qing asked coldly.
"Everyone who framed Ye Xiu ten years ago is gathering on Qingfeng Road tonight to celebrate his death. I came to Jin Ye City specifically to invite you to come and dance for the crowd as entertainment," Gao Wenshuai said with a lecherous grin. "But now that I’ve seen you, I’m suddenly in no hurry."
Qin Qing understood. So, Su Mo and his group thought Li Hongchou and the two from the Luo Po Sect had actually killed Ye Xiu. Without even waiting for confirmation, they all ran off to Qingfeng Road to celebrate. No wonder Ye Xiu rushed off in such a hurry!
"I really envy your luck," Qin Qing said. If Gao Wenshuai were on Qingfeng Road, Ye Xiu would definitely torture him tonight. But instead, the fool ran all the way to Jin Ye City. His luck really is too good.
"I feel pretty lucky myself," Gao Wenshuai said, misunderstanding her completely as he reached for her chin. "Getting to sleep with a supreme beauty like you."
Before his hand could touch her, Qin Qing made her move—not with her hand, but with her foot.
THWACK!
Her white sneaker connected squarely with Gao Wenshuai’s groin.
"ARGH..." Gao Wenshuai howled in agony and collapsed to his knees. His eyes bulged, veins popped on his forehead, and his face turned a deep, bruised purple. The pain was excruciating.
"Satisfied now?" Qin Qing asked coldly.
"You..." Gao Wenshuai roared in fury. "Wang Tong, what are you waiting for? Get her!"
The bodyguard, Wang Tong, walked over with a blank expression and said coldly, "Qin Qing, let me introduce myself. I am Wang Tong, a First Grade Martial Artist. A weak woman like you is no match for me. I’ll give you one chance: kneel and apologize to Young Master Gao, and I won’t lay a hand on you."
"First Grade?" Qin Qing’s eyes lit up. She picked a sword from the weapon rack and said, "I’ve been practicing my Swordsmanship for days. You’re the perfect opponent to test my true skill against."
"Hmph!" Wang Tong scoffed. "You’ve been practicing flashy, useless moves. They’re all for show. You’re no match for me, so I advise you to drop any idea of a fight."
SWISH!
Without a word, Qin Qing drew her sword and thrust it toward Wang Tong. With a single strike, she unleashed a flurry of phantom sword-strikes.
"This..." Wang Tong was stunned.
As the saying goes, a layman sees the spectacle, but an expert sees the craft. With just one strike, Wang Tong knew her moves weren’t just for show. This was an incredibly powerful Swordsmanship!
Wang Tong hurriedly dodged. In doing so, he surrendered the initiative and rhythm of the battle to Qin Qing. She pressed her advantage, her Swordsmanship becoming a relentless storm of attacks against him.
Startled, Wang Tong dodged and weaved, seizing an opportunity to draw his Dagger. He tried to counter but found Qin Qing’s Swordsmanship to be flawless and utterly unpredictable. No matter how he advanced, he was met by the tip of her sword.
"A mighty First Grade Martial Artist, and you’re this pathetic?" Qin Qing was profoundly disappointed. She had only learned Swordsmanship, not Inner Strength, yet she had driven a First Grade Martial Artist into complete disarray, unable to fight back. Was she really that strong, or was this First Grade Martial Artist just incredibly weak?
"Are you underestimating me by holding back?" Qin Qing asked.
Wang Tong nearly spat blood in frustration. By all the heavens! This *is* my full strength! It isn’t that I’m weak; her Swordsmanship is just too bizarre and powerful! Forget a First Grade Martial Artist like me; even a Second Grade would probably be no match for her!
