MIGHT AS WELL BE OP-Chapter 1000: Above the Apexus Mana Rank
Hearing Anthony’s words, Aaaninja’s lips twitched subtly, he could not help but ask himself where Anthony had learned to reply in such a confident and almost arrogant manner. It seemed as though every question he asked Anthony about anything at all, the boy would simply reply with something like, "because I am Null Anthony," as though that alone was a complete and sufficient answer that required no further elaboration or justification.
But at the same time, Aaaninja could not say Anthony’s words were arrogant or condescending in any way, the boy possessed the power to back those words, and that was simply confidence in its purest and most undeniable form. Besides, he still remembered the battle between Lucian and Anthony vividly, the Lucian he himself had lost against, had in turn lost to Anthony without even inflicting a single injury or forcing him to take the fight seriously.
Aaaninja could not help but contemplate that if he fought Anthony with his previous level of power, that maybe... maybe he might lose. Although deep within himself he knew he would definitely lose without question, he still chose to say maybe, as though clinging to a faint fragment of pride that refused to fully yield.
"I look forward to it, then," Aaaninja replied as a faint smile appeared on his lips, his mind already drifting to what Anthony’s expression would be when he finally lost, after all, Anthony had once told him that he had never lost a fight since his birth. Aaaninja once had the same flawless record until he met Anthony, Lucian once had the same flawless record until he met Aaaninja, and Aura Nova once had the same flawless record until she met Lucian.
They all basically had the same record until they each met the one person who would shatter that illusion of invincibility and force them to acknowledge the existence of someone superior.
"I cannot help but feel sad for those Angels who are invading," Rain could not help but comment as he sat with a calm and composed expression, watching the younger generation discuss among each other with quiet amusement and interest.
Although he had once been the strongest person on his planet before Aura Nova’s inevitable and overwhelming rise, he was not able to single-handedly defeat a Ten Winged Angel on his own, unlike the others present here who could accomplish such a feat with relative ease.
Hearing Rain’s words, Mitchelle could not help but chuckle softly and smile, she indeed felt pity for them. They had launched a surprise attack, but ended up being the ones who were wiped out instead, and not only that, this younger generation had killed Eleven Winged Angels as though they were insignificant, and yet, they were still becoming stronger with each passing moment. Did that not mean those Angels were only rushing toward their own inevitable deaths.
"Only if they knew they were rushing toward their own deaths, how amusing," Mitchelle finally spoke, her gentle smile ever present, yet carrying an undercurrent of cold indifference.
"Who knows when next they will attack, I am kind of looking forward to it," Zachary spoke with a calm and relaxed expression, a faint smile creeping onto his face as anticipation flickered within his eyes.
But unlike them, who felt excitement and anticipation at the thought of the incoming battle, Klaus and Amara could not share that same sentiment, they were strong enough to destroy an entire Galaxy on their own if they wished, why would they feel excitement over something as insignificant as a Galactical conquest. To them, all they had to do was unleash a single casual attack and the entire Divinora Galaxy would be erased, destroyed beyond reconstruction, unless a higher and more transcendent force intervened.
Michael could not help but smile faintly, his battle intent flickering briefly before vanishing just as quickly as it had appeared. Unlike the others, Michael was looking forward to his next battle against a Twelve Winged Angel for a completely different reason. The Sword Origin had pushed him to his absolute limits, allowing him to advance further along his path of power, now, did that not mean the Twelve Winged Angels could do the same? What about the rumored Thirteen Winged Angels? What about their so-called God, who reigned supreme above all of them without question.
To Null Michael, they were nothing more than whetstones, meant to sharpen his blade, refine his technique, and further elevate his existence beyond its current boundaries.
As for Collins, Anthony’s grandfather, he remained completely silent and unbothered, one could literally count on one hand how many words had left his lips since this sparring contest had begun. To him, the Angels did not matter, the Divinora Galaxy did not matter, only his wife, Irene, truly mattered above all else. As for his child, Michael, that boy was strong enough to survive anything, why should he concern himself. As for his grandson, Anthony, he too was strong enough, and that was more than enough reassurance.
"Should we resume the battle?" Klaus’s voice cut through the discussion Anthony and the others were having, as though he could not be bothered to offer congratulations to Aaaninja or acknowledge his achievement in any meaningful way.
Anthony’s sky-blue eyes turned toward Klaus as he spoke, "you do know it would not kill you to just congratulate the guy, right?" He asked casually, though there was a subtle firmness within his tone.
Klaus paused briefly as he heard Anthony’s words, then sighed softly, as though the mere act of acknowledging others required unnecessary effort.
Aaaninja turned his gaze toward Klaus, then toward Amara, he would not lie, these two were extremely mysterious and unfathomable to him. He remembered clearly when he had destroyed the Galaxy, these two had remained completely unaffected and were merely watching the situation unfold from their seats as though it were nothing more than a trivial spectacle.
’Above the Apexus Mana Rank?’ Aaaninja thought to himself, although he had never personally heard of a Mana Rank above the Apexus Mana Rank, he knew with absolute certainty that such a realm existed beyond his current comprehension.
As though reading Aaaninja’s thoughts effortlessly, Anthony replied calmly, "yes, they both stand above the Apexus Mana Rank, so whatever your achievement or anyone else’s achievements may be, to them, we are still nothing more than children, so do not bother thinking too deeply about them."
Anthony himself did not even know how old Klaus truly was, the man might as well have existed long before the Blue Planet itself came into existence, there was simply no way someone that ancient and powerful would think much of a minor rank such as the Apexus Mana Rank.
Aaaninja’s gaze turned toward Anthony as he stared at him suspiciously, his eyes narrowing slightly in doubt and curiosity. Anthony, noticing the stare, turned his gaze away from Klaus and back toward Aaaninja as he spoke calmly, "no need to overthink it, I did not read your mind, your thoughts are painfully obvious, they are practically written across your face for anyone perceptive enough to see."
Aaaninja shook his head with a quiet sigh, then fell silent, his thoughts drifting toward the distant future, toward a moment when he would possess power comparable to Klaus and Amara, and stand beyond the limitations that currently bound him.
