Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Adjustments (Additional update with 11000 votes)

It wasn’t that Li Yao remembered their appearance — rather, the Eye of the Creator revealed their information to him.

The male player was an Undead Priest with the username Guardian Angel. The female player was a High Elf Knight, armed with a two-handed great sword and went by the name Fruit Knight.

Both weren’t god-tier players, but they were definitely amongst the top-level players.

It wasn’t that they were lacking in skills. But both of them always acted as a duo, even during player killing (PK) events. Regardless of the number of opponents, they always teamed up.

They had the opportunity to participate in the Divine Enthronement battle, but their excuse for declining was absurd—they wouldn’t be able to fight together in these contests.

Despite both of them being of the Holy Light alignment, they had acquired a notorious moniker—The Twin Demons of Darkness—owing to their ruthless reputation.

The two of them mainly played PvP combat and were a rather famous team.

Hearing Guardian Angel trying to dissuade him, Li Yao frowned slightly and said, “I don’t have time to PK with you guys, find someone else.”

Just like the War God, these two also frequently sought out players for PK battles, which is how they attained their notorious title—The Twin Demons of Darkness.

Guardian Angel looked surprised, “I just wanted to warn you that the cave is very dangerous, you’d better level up outside. Why would I want to PK you?”

“Ah, sorry for the misunderstanding. I recently ran into a guy who tried to PK me, so I misunderstood.” Said Li Yao with a sheepish smile. It seemed that rumors could vary greatly from the truth.

Zhao Lei also laughed and commented, “It’s okay. My brother here is really strong, we shrug off danger. Thanks for the warning, though.’

“They won’t heed any advice. Let them suffer a bit and they’ll leave on their own,” said Fruit Knight, finishing the bread in her hand and fully restoring her health.

Li Yao shook his head and was just about to turn around and leave. Suddenly, he realized that the two in front of him were potential talents. Although famous for PK battles, they had impressive game sense.

For players with such potential, as long as their gaming skills were up to the mark, their dungeon raiding abilities would naturally be decent.

He wanted to build a guild, but at the moment, he couldn’t even form a team of five.

He didn’t have a Main Tank (MT) and a healer. These two had not yet joined any guild, so it was a good opportunity to recruit them. Besides, leveling up inside the cave would become numerous times more efficient if they had a strong MT and a healer, even with more players.

“Did you guys have trouble because of the spider eggs?” Li Yao asked.

Dumbfounded, Fruit Knight looked at Li Yao and replied, “Since you know about it, and yet you still came… it seems like you came prepared.”

“The number of spider eggs inside can only be described as countless. Don’t you think that’s a great opportunity for leveling up?” Li Yao asked again.

Guardian Angel gave a bitter smile, “We initially thought just like you. But leveling up as a group is quite difficult. She uses a two-handed weapon, and I can’t heal her fast enough. If she uses a shield, I can heal her, but our damage output drops. The time we waste inside the cave is better spent leveling up outside.”

“How about we team up? I am a decent damage dealer. And with my friend here, we should be able to level up as a group,” suggested Li Yao.

“Judging by your weapon, you have a blue weapon, so your damage output should be fine. However, your friend seems a little lacking,” Fruit Knight gave them a once-over before replying.

Seeing Zhao Lei’s embarrassment, Guardian Angel nudged Fruit Knight and added, “With four of us, we may be able to handle it. But more people means fewer experience points each. It’s as inefficient as leveling up alone.”

Li Yao chuckled and opened his backpack. He handed three pieces of Blue Equipment and four pieces of Green Equipment to Zhao Lei, “My brother’s gear isn’t so bad. He won’t hold us back. We won’t know if it works until we try. And it wouldn’t waste too much time, anyway.”

The jaws of Fruit Knight and Guardian Angel nearly dropped, “Holy moly, he casually took out three pieces of Blue Equipment. Is that really necessary?”

They could see the stats of those pieces of equipment. They were either dropped from necklace raids, or they were elite equipment from the guild of the Purgatory Flower, so the stats were naturally good.

“If I said ‘thanks’, it would seem as if I’m a stranger,” remarked Zhao Lei, taking the gear with some emotion. His stats boosted considerably after equipping.

“Alright, we’ll join in.The only heads up I’ll give you is this—if we find it inefficient, we can leave at any time,” agreed Fruit Knight, seeing that Guardian Angel was enthusiastic.

Li Yao invited the two to join the party with the gaming arrangement set to party mode. Both of them nodded their approval without saying anything.

“We’ve already cleared out some of the weaker monsters in the cave. First, let’s kill one of the monsters outside to get used to each other,” said Fruit Knight. Without waiting for Li Yao’s approval, she activated the Sanction Hammer.

A large golden Warhammer fell upon a level seven giant spider in the distance, and Fruit Knight directly guided the monster towards the team.

“She deals a huge amount of damage!”

Zhao Lei was shocked to see that Fruit Knight’s damage was still high even though she had switched to a shield and a one-handed hammer. He immediately stopped holding back and activated his charge.

Cleaving Strike!

Despite equipping three pieces of Blue Equipment, his damage output remained mediocre. This level of damage output would be considered high for a regular player, but compared to Fruit Knight, Zhao Lei couldn’t help feeling a little depressed.

“Your turn, Hunter. It’s not easy to produce damage.” The Guardian Angel said, noticing that Li Yao didn’t make a move.

Li Yao calmly swapped to the Savage Bull Hand Cannon, loaded an artillery shell, and shook his head. “No, the aggro isn’t stable yet.”

“Doubting my monster-pulling skills? Just focus on damage-dealing, I guarantee there won’t be any aggro pull.” said the Fruit Knight with a hint of displeasure.

“You said it.”

Li Yao revealed a slight smile. These two, seemingly calm, are actually quite arrogant. Especially the Fruit Knight, clearly trying to gain the authority in the team, wanting to put him in his place.

Boom…

Arcane Shot!

The artillery shell, bursting in flames, fiercely struck the spider monster, pushing it back a step.

-389

The spider’s health bar dropped by more than a third.

Hiss…

The spider charged toward Li Yao, ignoring the Fruit Knight.

“Damn!” the Guardian Angel jumped in fright.

“Insane.” Zhao Lei also looked dazed.

The Fruit Knight quickly used his skill to pull aggro again, twice, but the aggro was still not diverted.

Li Yao, undisturbed, loaded another round and pulled the trigger.

Boom…

-408

The spider fell unwillingly to the ground, its life bar emptied.

“What weapon is that? That damage is insane.”

Inside the cave, the Fruit Knight still couldn’t resist asking, after holding it in for a while.

“Purple.” Li Yao replied casually.

“You’re making life difficult for us. I went through all that trouble to get a blue magic staff, and just when I thought I was getting somewhere, I find out I’m merely a pleb.” The Guardian Angel’s eyes glistened while looking at Li Yao’s hand cannon. “I’m thinking about robbing you.”

Li Yao shook his head and said seriously, “You won’t make it. Your blue magic staff might just be my trophy.”

“You’re the team leader. You should command.” The Fruit Knight was still unconvinced.

“You’ve all run a raid; looks like you’ve also learned to be selfless. That’s settled, then. Wait, I’ll go lure some monsters for a little experiment.”

Li Yao said, running forward by himself, turning a corner and seeing the tunnel filled with tattered spider webs. With no large spiders around, it’s obvious they were cleared out not long ago.

But the cave walls were densely packed with spider eggs, too numerous to count.

Li Yao stepped back, roughly estimating how many spider eggs his scatter shot could break, then fired.

A volley of arrows launched forward, instantly shattering dozens of spider eggs. Each shattered egg resulted in a small spider crawling out.

Small Spider

Rank: Level 8 Normal

Life: 800

Armor: 30

Skills: Bite, Web-spinning

“Whoa, that’s crazy.”

Seeing dozens of small spiders following Li Yao, the remaining three jump in surprise…
