Chapter 312: Glimpses of Radiance and Spa Serenity

The morning sunlight painted the school parking lot in warm hues as Xin and Xiaxia arrived astride his gleaming new motorcycle.

The sleek machine turned heads as they parked, but what caught Xiaxia off guard was an unexpected sight when Xin dismounted.

As they settled the motorcycle into its designated spot, Xiaxia’s gaze lingered on Xin, who was now perched atop a black skateboard, a detail that had seemingly escaped her notice earlier.

Wide-eyed, Xiaxia couldn’t help but voice her surprise. "What’s that?" she inquired, pointing towards the inconspicuous skateboard beneath Xin.

With a nonchalant shrug, Xin replied, "A skateboard."

Xiaxia rolled her eyes. "I know it’s a skateboard, but why do you have it in the first place?" How come she hadn’t notice it before? Xiaxia sought an explanation.

Xin maintained his matter-of-fact tone, and explained, "Because my department is far from here, and I don’t want to walk with all the supplies at my back."

"Eh?" Xiaxia struggled to formulate a response, but before she could, Xin effortlessly switched gears.

He adorned his newly bought headphones, hopped onto his scooter, and glided forward, bidding her farewell with a casual, "See you."

As Xiaxia blinked, watching Xin’s departure, the realization dawned on her that Xin’s financial status might be more affluent than she had initially thought.

The sudden appearance of all this gadgets and even a million dollar bike, and even buying them things and taking them out on fancy restaurants hinted at a lifestyle that spoke of newfound wealth.

"How suspicious . . ." Xiaxia muttered under her breath, pondering the sudden richness of her twin.

Like it only happened overnight, and now his whole appearance seemed to change. He was like one of those cool male leading character in a novel.

However, her contemplation was interrupted by the audible sighs and giggles of nearby girls who had evidently observed the scene.

"How smooth."

"That guy is so cute."

"Isn’t that Xin? Seraphina’s boyfriend?"

"I can see why Seraphina fell for him."

"He may be quiet and aloof, but doesn’t he look cool and handsome right now?"

Xiaxia couldn’t help but overhear the admiring whispers from the girls nearby, their eyes still lingering on the departing Xin.

The unexpected fusion of motorcycle, and skateboard, had inadvertently cast Xin in a new light, transforming him into a figure of admiration and intrigue among his fellow students.

As the vibrant chatter of girls filled the air, gossiping and giggling about Xin, Xiaxia found herself standing at the periphery, perplexed by their animated reactions. Her brow furrowed in confusion as she observed the spectacle unfolding before her.

"When did Xin become cool?" Xiaxia mused to herself, her thoughts a jumble of disbelief.

Could riding a skateboard and a motorcycle really transform someone’s image to this extent?

As Xin effortlessly maneuvered his skateboard with a serene demeanor, his hair catching the wind, Xiaxia’s bewilderment deepened.

Her gaze fixated on Xin, who seemed to move with an unexpected grace, his movements’ fluid and seemingly choreographed. His serious expression remained, adding an enigmatic allure to his demeanor.

Xiaxia’s mouth fell agape, caught between astonishment and an unspoken question.

"Wait? Why is he all sparkly and in slow motion?" Xiaxia pondered, unable to reconcile the reality before her with the mundane image of Xin she had carried until now.

The scene played out like a surreal cinematic moment, Xin gliding through the world like he was the star of teenage romance.

Xiaxia clicked her tongue in annoyance, offering a sardonic side comment under her breath, "What’s so cool about that shut-in? He just gets a motorbike, and the girls are already losing their minds? What the heck?"

However, her ears perked up when she caught wind of another speculative comment from the nearby group.

"But still, do you think the bike is another gift from Lady Seraphina?"

Xiaxia’s ears widened at the mention of Seraphina’s name, bracing herself for more assumptions and rumors.

"Yeah. I heard that he is poor. But ever since he got together with Seraphina, he acquired all kinds of these expensive stuff."

"Whoa, Seraphina gifting him millions of dollars is really something."

"Do you think he’s that good for her to waste money on him?"

Their laughter echoed, each word causing multiple angry veins to pop on Xiaxia’s furrowing face.

"Still, if I’m going to choose between a poor and rich boyfriend, I’ll choose the rich one anytime. I want to be pampered and not the other way around."

"Right?"

"Seraphina is already rich, so she could pamper herself. Maybe pampering poor guys is a fetish for her?"

"There is some kind of fulfillment in that when you’re the one leading the relationship."

The girls laughed once more.

Unable to contain her frustration any longer, Xiaxia shouted at the nearby women, "Xin is not poor at all! For your information, he bought that bike and even bought back our house! He even gifted me and my mother expensive make up and jewelries! So, mind your thoughts to yourself!"

After venting her frustration, Xiaxia stomped her way towards her department, leaving the bewildered women in her wake.

"My . . . how violent."

"Isn’t that Xiaxia? His sister?"

"I heard they’re twins."

"Then could Xin be as awful as her?"

As much as Xiaxia wanted to turn and slap their faces, she decided to cool off her head. With a deep breath, she sighed, staring into the horizon, reminding herself that it was a waste of saliva and waste of time to confront them.

Later that day, Xiaxia, Marry, and Scarlet strolled along the school’s paveway, laughter echoing as they made their way to the spa that Seraphina had generously arranged for them.

"Lady Seraphina is really kind to do this. Have you told her my thanks?" Marry inquired, her gratitude evident.

"Of course," Xiaxia replied, though she subtly masked her surprise.

Seraphina had called her earlier, extending the invitation for a spa day for Xiaxia and her friends, her tone almost a veiled threat.

"She said that I looked tired and needed a spa day," Xiaxia giggled, playing off the casual nature of the invitation.

Scarlet pouted, casting an envious glance at Xiaxia. "It must be nice to have a sister-in-law like that."

Xiaxia averted her gaze, muttering, "Y-yeah."

Marry and Scarlet were unaware of the intricacies of Xin and Seraphina’s relationship, and remained blissfully ignorant.

Xiaxia was unwilling to reveal the true nature of their connection, choosing to maintain the façade.

Still, an uneasy feeling lingered within Xiaxia about this whole spa thing, a nagging sensation that refused to dissipate.

However, she shrugged and brushed it off.

"Yosh! Let’s go and pamper ourselves!"

"Yeah!"
