MMORPG: I was BUGGED-Chapter 328: Boss Battle Beckons
"Hey look, boss. A player."
Finally, the group had noticed Lord Scrooge standing beside the saving crystal.
"Is he alone?"
"Is he even a player?"
"Lord Scrooge? What kind of name is that?"
"It makes me think of a grumpy old cat."
Xin chose not to comment.
"Should we rob him? He’s alone."
Hearing their conversation, Xin exhaled inwardly.
"Hey, you. Are you a player?" Tristan asked as he approached Lord Scrooge.
Xin didn’t feel like confronting them at the moment. If it were Tristan and Tiffany, maybe he might, but facing eight opponents alone seemed disadvantageous. A strategic retreat appeared to be the most advantageous option.
Moreover, he wasn’t concerned about not fulfilling his promise to Tristan of making his life hell whenever he saw him. He already had a plan in mind.
Xin then logged out without another word before the players could even think of challenging him for his loot.
"Ah! He ran away!"
"So he is a player since he could logged out."
"I thought he was an NPC or something."
"Never mind him," Tristan said, directing his group. "Let’s wait for the second team and head out. Make sure your HP and MP are full before then."
Meanwhile, Xin found himself back in the real world and immediately went to bed. It was already past 2 in the morning, and there was still class later.
There was also the matter of speaking with Seraphina to adjust the time of their art session to accommodate his new schedule in Guildbane.
Since he had been diligent in working on his project, he didn’t need to worry about the deadline at all.
In fact, he could probably finish it a week early before the auction would start.
Closing his eyes, Xin was ready to doze off when Tristan and Tiffany’s faces loomed over inside his head.
He didn’t need to worry about them; he had already instructed Hilda on what to do.
While Xin and the others were adventuring in the dream world, the rest of the world were adventuring in Guildbane.
Doom Serenity, led by Tristan, was determined to find that Kitsune’s lair on that day.
Everyone knew that having a mythical creature as a pet would significantly boost their ranks and prowess in battle.
Acquiring the Kitsune would undoubtedly help raise Doom Serenity in the rankings and bring them back to the 200th mark.
Currently, they were lingering in the 500th position, striving nonstop to achieve that spot in the past weeks.
Their downward spiral started because of Snow Angels!
Tristan gritted his teeth at the thought of Snow Angels.
This time, Xiaxia was more cautious about whom to declare war against. She must have known that he was using and paying other guilds to obtain her Legend-Grade equipment.
Tristan clicked his tongue. That bitch is only arrogant because of her Legend Grade equipment. Once he got the Kitsune, it would be like acquiring a Legend-Grade equipment.
For now, he needed to focus on obtaining that Golden Tail Kistune, and when Xiaxia finally let her guard down, that’s when he would strike and reclaim their thrown.
Tristan laughed at the thought.
He was sure that Xiaxia still liked him. After all, it had only been months since they broke up. Maybe he could use that to his advantage.
Tristan smirked as he considered a strategy to defeat Snow Angels and get back to the 200th mark.
When their reinforcements finally arrived, Doom Serenity set out immediately to find the Kitsune.
"STOP!"
Tristan and the others abruptly halted, surprised by their hunter’s urgent shout for them to stop.
"What’s going on?" Tristan questioned.
Instead of answering, the hunter pointed to players on the ground slowly dissipating into particles.
"W-what . . . what’s happening?"
"Are they players?"
"Hey! What happened here?!" Tristan appeared near one of the players who could still barely talk despite missing half his body and turning into particles.
"M-monster . . ." the player uttered in a daze.
Tristan and the others exchanged glances. "Monster? What do you mean?"
"Is there a boss here?" Tiffany asked, shifting her attention everywhere to locate if someone was still around.
The others became alert as well.
With what remained of his finger, the player pointed onward, uttering his final words before bursting into nothingness. "T-there . . . in black armor . . ."
When the players finally burst into particles, Doom Serenity’s faces were grim.
"No one told us about a boss here," Tiffany voiced her concern.
"Maybe no one had come across it until now," Tristan explained. "With all the players coming here, it’s no wonder that we would encounter a boss or two."
"What are we going to do?" Tiffany asked Tristan.
Instead of getting scared of this boss that managed to defeat ten players, Tristan was eager to find it.
A boss meant loot and possibly a Legend-Grade equipment if they acquire firstblood.
"Let’s go and defeat it," Tristan said resolutely.
"Are you nuts?" Tiffany protested. "We should be finding the Kitsune and not wasting our resources and time on a boss."
"Think about it. We have four groups in here, searching for the Kitsune in deferent directions. And if we ask them to come to our location, we’d have thirty-plus players and easily defeat this thing. Defeating a new boss means acquiring firstblood and epic to legend-grade equipment. Do you really want to pass this up?"
At the mention of loot and equipment, Tiffany’s face lit up, and the others’ faces brightened as well.
"Looks like we’re in agreement here. Share our location with the others and message them to join us. We’ll do a little sideline first before we resume our hunt for the Kitsune."
"Yes!"
"Are we going to move ahead first?" Tiffany asked when Tristan signaled to move out. "Shouldn’t we wait for the others?"
"The more we dally here, the more we lose our chance to kill this thing," Tristan responded, signaling her to follow him, and then he moved out.
Tiffany took a deep breath, sighing into the heavens.
She was supposed to be the leader of Doom Serenity, but it seemed like Tristan had taken the lead, and she was reduced to a mere supporting character.
"Doesn’t my opinion matter here anymore?" Tiffany grumbled.
