MMORPG: I was BUGGED-Chapter 354: The Battlefield Within
Luna was undeterred, and casted a powerful spell, aiming to retaliate against Sylvan.
However, Xin, Seraphim, Hilda, and Victor intervened, launching a coordinated assault to divert Luna’s attention.
Amidst the chaos, Sylvan seized the opportunity to evade Luna’s attack, using the trees and terrain to his advantage.
"Hoi! What’s the meaning of this?!" Drakoon roared. "Why are you helping him?! Do you want to be enemies with Doombringers, huh?!"
"That’s right!" Luna shouted at Lord Scrooge and the rest. "I thought that you wouldn’t interfere?! What are you even doing?!"
Victor let out a chuckle. "Enemy of Doombringers? Don’t make me laugh. You’re not even part of that guild. And who said that we’re helping Sylvan? You’re just annoying, so we want to get rid of you."
Lord Scrooge and the others nodded in agreement.
Drakoon and Luna were so furious that their teeth were about to turn to dust from how hard they were grinding them.
"Why, you . . ."
"Enough talking," Grey Smoke said, pointing his blade at Ignis and the others. "If you don’t want to be massacred, I suggest that you leave, or we could always do it the hard way."
Ignis couldn’t think straight at the moment, while Luna and Drakoon roared, "Let’s see who’s going to get massacred!"
In the end, Luna and Drakoon met their demise, leaving Ignis as the sole survivor.
"Well?" Grey Smoke asked, flexing his dual blade. "Are you still going to fight?"
Ignis immediately raised his hands as if signalling surrender. "I give up."
Ignis couldn’t comprehend what had happened, but Luna and Drakoon succumbed within minutes.
To make it more perplexing, Lord Scrooge and Sylvan didn’t have to lift a finger; the combined forces of Grey Smoke and Seraphim were sufficient. And one powerful strike from Hilda sealed the fate of the two adversaries.
Ignis was unaware of the true strength possessed by Grey Smoke and Seraphim.
As his eyes fell on the dwarven woman, clad in formidable armor, a shiver ran down his spine. She seemed more formidable than the other two combined.
"I-I won’t fight anymore, so please let me go," Ignis pleaded.
Victor nodded in Sylvan’s direction. "It’s your call."
Sylvan remained silent for a moment, gazing at Ignis with a cold expression. Then, with a sneer, he crossed his arms. "There’s no pride and glory in fighting a man who’s already given up. Go and don’t appear before me anymore, or I will kill you every time I see you and those two."
"T-thank you," Ignis stammered and hastily made his escape.
Sylvan then turned his attention to Lord Scrooge and the others. "I’ve got that handled; I don’t need your help."
"What you want to say is thank you, right?" Victor remarked.
"What are you going to do with them?" Xin inquired. "Are you going to pursue legal actions?"
Sylvan nodded firmly. "That’s right. I can’t just let them go." His anger contorted his face as he clenched his fists. "Those guys sold the map, and they’re the reason why the Yokais are in danger. They even beat them up! I won’t forgive them!"
Victor sighed wryly. "That’s what you’re concerned about?"
The conversation abruptly halted when they heard blasts and screams emanating from inside the village.
"Those idiots! Did they really attack the village?!" Sylvan exclaimed, alarmed, and hurried inside.
Xin and the others quickly followed behind.
The sight that unfolded within the village caused Sylvan’s face to drain of color.
The once peaceful sanctuary of the Yokais was now a battlefield, with Doombringers launching an assault on the Yokai guards.
Panic rippled through the villagers, prompting them to flee towards the hall, seeking refuge in the safest corner of the village.
Sylvan, caught in a mix of disbelief and desperation, attempted to intervene and halt Doombringers’ assault.
However, his efforts were futile; he was no match against the overwhelming force they brought. The clash of swords, the flicker of magic, and the cries of both Yokai and Doombringers echoed through the once serene village.
"Tamers! Tame those Yokai who couldn’t fight. Don’t kill them and maintain their HP low so it’s easier to tame them!" Nightshade bellowed, his voice cutting through the chaos.
Sylvan was infuriated, and roared at Nightshade, "What are you doing?! Are you nuts?!"
Nightshade was unfazed by Sylvan’s outburst, and released a heavy breath. "Do you think that we wanted this as well? They have attacked us, so we have no choice but to retaliate."
While the chaos was ongoing, Xin was baffled at the turn of events.
How could a skirmish erupt within the confines of a village? Shouldn’t such conflicts be strictly prohibited, or was this an unforeseen consequence of a quest or event unfolding within the game?
Usually, fights never erupted inside villages and towns, unless of course, if it was triggered by something like an event or quest.
That was the only explanation.
As Xin pondered these questions, the clash between Doombringers and the Yokais intensified.
The once-peaceful village transformed into a battleground, with Yokai guards fiercely defending their home against the invaders. Spells lit up the night, illuminating the ongoing struggle.
Sylvan was torn between his love for the Yokais and the consequences of offending Doombringers, and found himself at a crossroads.
His initial resistance against Ignis and the others now seemed like a trivial challenge compared to the chaos that unfolded before him.
The villagers huddled together in the hall, their eyes wide with fear as they sought safety from the turmoil outside.
Sylvan’s heart pounded, torn between the desire to protect the Yokais and the grim reality that Doombringers, with their overwhelming strength, posed a formidable threat even for him.
In the midst of the chaos, Nightshade’s orders echoed as the Doombringers executed a systematic strategy.
Tamers weaved through the battlefield, identifying Yokai unable to fend for themselves and carefully managing their HP to make them easier to tame. It was a calculated approach, a stark contrast to the initial chaos of battle.
As Xin observed the events, a sense of unease settled over him.
