MMORPG: I was BUGGED-Chapter 355: Sylvan’s Reckless Actions
"What should we do? Should we help?" Victor glanced at Xin, seeking his opinion amidst the chaos.
Seraphim, with a chuckle, intercepted before Lord Scrooge could respond. "Are you willing to risk Doombringers’ wrath?"
Victor eyed Seraphim with disdain, his lips curling into a challenging smirk. "Afraid of them, are you? You can leave if you want. No one’s forcing you to stay. Actually, why are you even here again?"
A stifled laugh escaped Seraphim. "I’m here for the show, of course. And I’m just giving you a friendly warning. We wouldn’t want to tarnish your reputation as one of the top Dual Wielders now, would we?"
Victor sneered. "If you think I care about such trivial matters, then you’re mistaken."
Xin, sensing the escalating tension, stepped in to diffuse the situation.
"Enough from both of you," he interjected firmly, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade.
Even though Victor wasn’t aware that Seraphim was Midnight Duchess, there was an instinctual aversion towards the woman that emanated from him.
While the group couldn’t decide what to do, the clash of weapons and magical explosions intensified, painting a chaotic tableau within the village.
Sylvan was caught in the middle of the conflict, and struggled with his emotions. The once-clear lines between his principles and love for Yokais blurred in the turmoil of battle.
In the midst of the chaos, Sylvan’s mind raced, searching for a solution that would spare the Yokais from further harm.
The urgency of the situation pressed upon him, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that the situation was slipping out of control.
As Xin and the others observed from the sidelines, uncertainty hung in the air.
The unfolding events raised questions about the nature of the fight itself — was this part of an event, or had they stumbled upon an unforeseen glitch in the game’s programming?
The clash between Doombringers and Yokais continued, each clash of weapons and burst of magic amplifying the tension.
The once-tranquil village had become a battleground, and Sylvan, now at a loss for a clear course of action, grappled with the grim reality of the situation.
As the chaos unfolded and a Yokai was on the brink of being slain by Doombringers, Sylvan’s control wavered. It was as if a primal instinct took over, compelling him to intervene and save the defenseless Kitsune by striking down the members of Doombringers.
A hushed murmur rippled through the group as Xin and the others observed Sylvan’s impulsive actions, as if they had anticipated this turn of events.
"Ah. He really have done it . . . ," Xin and the others muttered.
In the aftermath of his sudden outburst, Sylvan appeared bewildered and disoriented, as if he had been momentarily consumed by a trance.
One second, he was a bystander; the next, he found himself as an active participant in the fray, his hands stained with the blood of a Doombringers member.
Of course, Nightshade seen the whole thing and wasted no time in reprimanding Sylvan for his actions. "You’ve crossed the line now! By taking the life of one of our own, you’ve initiated a conflict with our entire guild. Are you prepared to face the consequences of your actions?"
Realizing that it was too late to retract his actions, and too dishonorable to beg for mercy, Sylvan squared his shoulders, refusing to show any sign of weakness. He was determined to face whatever consequences awaited him with dignity and resolve.
"I don’t care who you are," Sylvan asserted, his voice laced with determination. "You will leave these Yokais alone, or else . . ." His threat trailed off, leaving the implication hanging in the air.
Nightshade and his companions paused for a moment, exchanging amused glances before erupting into laughter at Sylvan’s audacity.
Nightshade, with a wry smile, adjusted his glasses with a finger. "Or else what, Sylvan? Are you going to glare us to death?"
The mocking laughter of the Doombringers members echoed through the clearing, leaving Sylvan at a loss for words.
The reality of facing off against an entire guild single-handedly was a daunting prospect, one that he had not fully considered in the heat of the moment.
Meanwhile, Victor, observing from the sidelines, shook his head in disappointment at Sylvan’s impulsive actions. "He’s still just a kid — so reckless."
Hilda observed that Lord Scrooge was trouble and offered her assistance. "Shall I lend him a hand? Don’t worry, I can handle it myself, so you won’t be implicated in any way."
Xin contemplated that possibility as well. However, he harbored doubts that Doombringers would refrain from implicating them, even if they remained passive observers.
Even if they were mere bystanders while Hilda carried out her massacre, their association with her could still be enough for Doombringers to exact retribution.
The mere thought of being implicated in such a situation left Xin feeling uneasy and uncertain of their next course of action. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
What to do? Xin mused silently, his thoughts swirling with the consequences.
The question was . . . was he prepared to be in conflict with a large guild so openly like this?
He was content with the entire plan to infiltrate the Castle of Doom because it had been meticulously devised by him.
However, this situation was different, and he wasn’t certain about the right course of action.
He contemplated summoning Elysia, but he hesitated knowing that both Victor and Midnight Duchess might recognize her presence back in the Abandon Fortress.
Changing his name again crossed Xin’s mind as a potential solution, but the realization that he would have to wait another month only added to his growing anxiety.
Moreover, he couldn’t shake off the concern for Victor, whose prominent reputation made him a more visible target.
As he pondered their predicament, Xin couldn’t help but wonder why Victor hadn’t concealed his identity from the start. It would have spared them all from the current dilemma.
Come to think of it . . . Xin lamented internally, realizing the missed opportunity for Victor to hide his identity, unlike him and Midnight Duchess, who could easily conceal their true persona.
