Chapter 369: Navigating Matters of the Heart

Xiaxia drew nearer to Seraphina, gently linking their arms, and beseeched, "Dear Sister Seraphina . . . could you impart to your younger sibling the secrets of discovering romance, achieving happiness, and injecting vibrancy into my otherwise mundane existence?"

Seraphina’s laughter danced lightly through the air, a melodic sound that carried a hint of mischievousness. "It’s simple, Xiaxia."

"Really? Because I’ve tried everything from simple to drastic, and nothing seems to work," Xiaxia replied, her frustration evident in her voice.

Seraphina gently placed a finger over Xiaxia’s lips, silencing her. "Listen to me very carefully, my dear Xiaxia."

Xiaxia met Seraphina’s intense gaze, feeling a flutter of anticipation in her chest. She swallowed nervously, nodding in agreement.

"The way to Victor’s heart . . ." Seraphina began, her words hanging in the air as Xiaxia leaned in eagerly, her eyes wide with anticipation.

". . . is simply to be yourself."

"Huh?" Xiaxia furrowed her brow, puzzled by Seraphina’s seemingly straightforward advice.

Seraphina took a step back, her expression radiant. "Just be yourself, and you’ll be good to go."

Xiaxia’s confusion deepened. "Just be myself? But I’ve always been myself from the very beginning, and Victor doesn’t seem to care. At least not on a romantic level."

Even Xiaxia could sense that Victor’s feelings toward her were purely platonic, akin to those of an older brother.

Seraphina chuckled softly. "Just be yourself. And while you’re at it, dye your hair back to its original color, tone down the makeup, and you’ll be good to go."

Xiaxia blinked, unsure if Seraphina was joking or being serious. "But then . . . I’ll look like XIN!"

’Exactly,’ Seraphina wanted to say, but instead she replied, "I know men like Victor. They prefer women who are natural and in their natural skin."

"I don’t know . . ." Xiaxia wasn’t convince that it was that simple.

With a firm grip on Xiaxia’s shoulders, Seraphina gave her a reassuring squeeze. "You can do this, Xiaxia. It’s fairly simple, but trust me, it will work."

Seraphina’s confidence brought a smile to Xiaxia’s face, and she nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, I trust you completely!"

This was Seraphina Fey after all. With countless admirers vying for her attention, she undoubtedly possessed a wealth of experience in matters of the heart.

"For the sake of our love life and happiness, you must succeed in winning Victor’s heart," Seraphina said earnestly, her eyes shining with determination before softening into a warm smile.

"Right!" Xiaxia agreed wholeheartedly, though a lingering question nagged at her brain.

For their sake? What did Seraphina mean by that?

While Seraphina and Xiaxia delved into their discussion, Xin and Victor engaged in their own conversation, their voices blending seamlessly in the bustling ambiance of the restaurant.

They discussed everything from school to their shared experiences in Guildbane until finally, Xin broached the topic about Xiaxia. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"What do you think of my sister?" Xin asked suddenly, his tone serious.

At first, Victor didn’t pay much attention to the sudden question and answered honestly, "She’s great. I wish I had a little sister like that. She’s so honest, bubbly, and definitely a handful. Ahahaha."

"No, I mean . . . romantically?" Xin pressed, his expression unreadable.

It was an awkward topic, but sooner or later, it had to be addressed, especially since Xin had already noticed the subtle signs in Xiaxia’s behavior and expressions.

Victor paused, blinking in surprise before tilting his head to the side. "Huh? What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean," Xin replied with a serious expression.

Victor blinked rapidly, leaning in slightly. "No, I don’t."

"Xiaxia likes you," Xin stated bluntly. "And I know that you’ve noticed it too."

Victor’s expression shifted, a mixture of surprise and discomfort crossing his face as he leaned back in his chair and sighed. He ran his hands over his face and took a deep breath.

"Oh dear, did I mess up?" Victor muttered. "I forgot that all girls easily fall for considerate, handsome, and charming men."

Xin nodded in agreement. "That’s right. Xiaxia easily falls for that type."

Victor’s expression softened, a hint of remorse evident. "What am I going to do? I’m so sorry, Xin. I didn’t expect this to happen! I shouldn’t have gotten closer to her and should have maintained my distance. It wasn’t my intention at all!"

"I know," Xin nodded understandingly.

After a moment of contemplation, Victor sighed again. "You’re awfully calm about this."

"I can’t exactly blame you since it’s Xiaxia who fell for your charms, and I know it wasn’t your intention at all. It’s all Xiaxia’s fault here."

"Uhm . . . aren’t you being a little harsh on your sister?" Victor questioned.

Xin shook his head. "No, I’m just speaking from experience. It’s all good in the beginning, but when they start to develop feelings and you don’t reciprocate, that’s when things can take a downward turn," he explained, drawing from his own past experience.

"The upside is, Xiaxia also easily forgets and move on."

Xin’s expression then shifted, his eyes focusing on Victor with an intensity that caught the latter off guard.

So, he’s not as calm about this as he seems, Victor lamented when Xin’s eyes narrowed at him.

"So here’s what you’re going to do, Victor. While her feelings for you are still in this early stage, I want you to nip it in the bud as ruthless as you can and set the record straight with her. You can be ruthless with her if that’s what it takes for her to move from you. Do you understand?"

Victor nodded rapidly. "Don’t worry, I heard you loud and clear. Tomorrow, I will certainly clear up the misunderstanding and set the record straight with her as soon as possible."

"Good," Xin said, his expression returning to its usual poker face. "I’m glad we had this talk, and I hope this is the last time we talk about this."

Victor nodded in agreement before swiftly downing a glass of wine in a single gulp. "Me too," he added, his voice slightly strained from the awkward topic.

With that, the conversation about Xiaxia had ended.
