MOBA Game Apocalypse-Chapter 220: It’s Not Even A Choice
"Grngh… Hrng."
Adam wanted to puke; he could feel the sting crawling up inside his neck and wanted to escape his throat. It didn't help that the acidity was now trying to mix with the putrid, slimy flesh of the pink aliens.
Slimy.
Just the thought of the feeling was making him nauseous, but this wasn't just a thought—there really was alien flesh swirling inside his mouth.
He tilted his head, trying his best not to vomit there and then. After all, if he puked now, everything he'd done until now would all be for nothing.
Hold it, Adam. Hold it!
Adam glared up at the giant aliens around him, his lips twitching and trembling, making it seem like he was smirking at them.
Hold—
And right at the moment he could no longer hold his vomit, he quickly spat out the flesh. His eyes twitched from disgust, but he stood tall and wiped the blood away from his face, smearing the red and flesh onto his cheek.
Beatrice slowly landed right next to Harvey and Carmen, and just… stood there in silence. The two didn't even acknowledge her presence, and the Berserk Fairy even forgot the gaping wound in her leg.
They all just stood there, watching as Adam looked more like an alien than the aliens themselves.
"Did… did the midget just fucking eat someone?!" Carmen pointed at Adam. "He's… he's not going to eat me, right? I… can't even count anymore how many times I cursed the boy."
"You're… not recording that, are you?" Harvey asked as he glanced at Beatrice. Beatrice glanced at him, then glanced at her tablet, which was already switched off.
Very slowly, Beatrice reached for her chest, turning off her bodycam and making sure to pull out the SD card. Harvey saw that, and quickly did the same.
There was already a lot of… mess surrounding Adam's existence. If anyone else saw that, they were sure the world was once again going to come at him.
"What… should we even do? Fuck…" Harvey looked around. "You think… he got it? Why'd he even fucking need to do that?"
"Because he's the fucking El Diablo, man," Carmen whispered, shaking her head. "I'm out. I'm fucking out of—"
"No." Beatrice extended her arm to them, also shaking her head. "Adam's M.O had always been to stop the fight before it could happen. It is not odd to think this is not any different."
"...You sure?"
Beatrice turned to Harvey, looking at him with the usual stoic expression on her—no. There wasn't anything stoic about her face, not at all. The beads of sweat forming on her face could even create a pool of blood beneath her feet if she wanted to.
And while the three were losing their minds with Adam's performance, Adam was already way ahead of them in that department.
He carelessly dropped one half of X'anul's corpse, and then placed the remaining one above his head, letting the blood just shower over him and veil his silhouette completely.
And with how much blood these pink aliens have, the only things that the aliens could see now were his bright green eyes.
Please… please just run away. Want to bet, Adam? I bet they're not going to run away. These aren't humans… I don't think they're intimidated by these kind of—see? I'm right!
Adam's mind became quiet as the shorter of the two alien Heroes rushed at him. This time, it was the warrior wielding two blades.
The remaining alien also quickly followed shortly, none of them giving Adam any chance to escape as they blocked his path in every direction.
Trapped, Adam didn't move at all. The only thing that moved from him was his chest as he sighed heavily to the point that any air inside him was freed, and along with it…
…his restraint.
But even then, Adam just let these aliens coalesce around him; some of them managed to slice a part of his body, but some were only able to scratch it.
They must know. They must know what the Black Crystal inside you entailed, Adam. And yet, they went here, they went here not to fight, but to hunt. It's the same with all the other Heroes—it's the same with the Heroes of humanity, the higher the grade the Leak, the more they want to conquer it. As you said, Adam… what they do is up to them, and this is what they chose to do.
This is their choice… Emperor Adam.
Adam's head violently tilted as a large saber managed to pierce through his heart. He glanced up at the alien who stabbed him, and with a smile on his face, he grabbed the alien's arm and just… pulled himself.
He crawled close… letting his flesh be torn apart more and more. And he didn't stop with just the blade; he continued to pull himself closer as he reached the handle.
And he wasn't done.
He continued on… and on.
He pulled himself closer, his gaping wound growing even larger, now swallowing the alien's arm whole.
And this one seemed to finally unnerved them. The other remaining alien, who was about to attack Adam, stopped in his tracks. The alien glanced at their companion, backed away, and with another screech…
…finally ran back to the Leak.
Adam watched this and sighed.
Finally… they're starting to get your message, Adam. The message not to fuck with you and the other hu—Oh?
And before he could even finish his thoughts, the running alien dropped to the ground. Adam's head snapped at Carmen and the others at first, but they were still standing there as stunned as him.
He turned his focus back to the alien right in front of him, only to see that they were the one who killed their own people.
Adam blinked a couple of times at this, closing his eyes for a moment. He tilte his head back as he opened his eyes again, glaring up at the remaining alien.
"I guess… our capacity for violence will always be the same, huh?" he whispered. "Whether it's us, or you—we're all monsters."
And with those words, Adam slammed his head toward the alien's arm, once again biting off a chunk of flesh. The alien screeched, but Adam no longer cared as he planted both his hands inside the alien's wound before ripping its arm completely off.
"Hrngh…" Adam wheezed as he dropped to the ground, the alien's arm that was still embedded through his chest, dropping along with a clank.
"Hah…" He stepped forward, placing his hand on his chest and pushing the severed arm out. He watched as the alien started to squirm around in pain, and a sigh escaped him.
He shook his head and slowly crouched as he picked up the severed arm, shaking it, not stopping until the blade it was holding dropped with another hard clank.
Adam lazily threw the arm right back at its owner, and he lazily picked up the blade that was even larger than Shion—the handle almost couldn't fit his hand.
He then slowly looked back at the squirming alien, who completely froze as their eyes met. And then, even more slowly, Adam stepped forward.
Just one single step of his, causing the ground to tremble. The giant saber he was holding, carving through the already cracked pavement as he made his way toward the alien.
"Remember…" he whispered.
"...your people wanted this."
Adam disappeared, the ground beneath his feet practically blasting away and creating a wave, throwing debris that reached Beatrice and the others' position.
"Fuck!" Carmen covered her face, gritting her teeth. But her frustration only lasted for a single second, as a manic smile slowly crept on his face. "This crazy fucking puto!"
Carmen removed her hand, making sure not to miss any moment of Adam's… madness.
"I knew I fucking liked this fucking midget! Ha! Hahaha!"
Carmen laughed, watching as both the alien's legs were cut—no. From how explosive Adam's attack was, the alien's legs practically showered everywhere. It didn't help that Adam hadn't really completely gotten the balance of the giant saber yet, and accidentally hit the alien with the blunt side of the weapon.
Even Adam seemed shocked by what he did, his eyes widening as he watched the flesh and bones shower everywhere.
But before the alien dropped to the pavement, his shock was gone, replaced only by a cold look as he let go of the saber.
The alien started to crawl toward the Leak, and Adam slowly followed behind him. He glanced down, passing by the alien before blocking its path and crouching right in front of it. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"You're going to live," Adam whispered, raising the alien's head and looking it in the eye.
"You're going to live, and you tell them what happened here. And for your people's sake, I hope you are intelligent enough to know that this is the last of my mercy… I'm trying to be kind, to be human. I'm not trying to be stupid. If it comes down to your people, or my friends…
…It's not even a choice."
