"THE GODS are keeping quiet because they’re hiding from you."

Tilly found that interesting.

After all, it was one of the questions that hadn’t been answered yet.

"We still don’t know why the gods sacrificed Yumi," Tilly said, crossing her arms over her chest. "Now we’re finding out that the gods are hiding from Kyro."

Kiho nodded in agreement. "It’s annoying how the most important thing is still being hidden from us."

"Is it because the scenarios we’ve seen so far are either in Yumi or Kyro’s POV?"

"That sounds plausible."

They probably couldn’t get a POV from the gods because the memories they had seen so far were Yumi and Kyro’s memories.

[Anyways...]

Kyro finally spoke, so Tilly and Kiho’s conversation was interrupted.

"Why would I make a deal with someone who doesn’t even have his own physical body?"

Oh, right.

The Devil had a physical body, but it wasn’t his.

"Now I’m a bit confused," Tilly said, tilting her head to one side while observing the Devil. "I’m aware that the Devil is using a human body, probably someone that he possessed, and yet I can still see his handsome face."

"You find the Devil handsome?"

Hmm?

Tilly looked up at her husband and was a bit confused when she found him sulking. "Why are you pouting? The Devil is objectively handsome. I’m just stating the obvious."

"I still don’t like hearing you say that you find another man attractive, honey."

"No, hon. I don’t find the Devil attractive," Tilly said, cupping Kiho’s face between her hands. "I misspoke. I’m sorry. Don’t be jealous anymore, okay?"

Fortunately, Kiho’s face beamed. "Okay. I’m sorry for being petty, honey."

She wanted to assure her husband that it was okay, but she stopped when the Devil spoke.

"I’m lucky that there are still a few Devil worshippers in the human world."

Oho?

[So, the human that the Devil possessed is a Devil worshipper?]

"As if sealing my body wasn’t enough, you gods also had to permanently close the gate that connects my realm to the human world," the Devil lamented. "I’m a fallen god, but I’m still a god. You’re treating me like this just because I tried to lead the Heavens once."

"I’m sorry, but I don’t care about your sad life story. My wife is still unstable, and my anger isn’t quenched yet. I want to focus on destroying the human race as revenge to the gods for what they did to my family," Kyro said, and then he looked up at the Devil with dead eyes. "You better make your offer tempting if you want my attention."

"Be my successor, Moon God."

The Moon God, naturally, looked shocked by the Devil’s offer.

Tilly was just as shocked even though she already knew that the Moon God was already the Devil in the present. "So, this is how it started."

"I can’t believe Kyro was already the Devil’s "successor" way before I was born," Kiho said bitterly. "Was he already the Devil when I was conceived?"

Oh.

OH.

That was possible, and that was worrying.

Tilly and Kiho had already discussed that possibility before, but watching Kyro’s past unfold right before them probably made her husband worry about that again.

And it was understandable.

"Like I said before, I don’t care even if you are the Devil’s son," Tilly said, holding Kiho’s hands. "But I don’t think you are the Devil’s son, Kiho. So, don’t worry too much."

"I can’t help but worry, Tilly. My blood was passed down to our children, after all."

"Kiho, we’ll protect our babies together."

Her husband gave her a small smile and squeezed her hand gently.

Kiho didn’t say anything because the Devil started talking again.

"If you become my successor, you’ll receive all the powers that I possess— including the power that threatens the major gods."

"Have you forgotten that I’m a god? My body isn’t suitable to host your demonic powers. The other major gods had already expected that you’d approach one of us and tempt them into being your successor. Hence, we all put a powerful spell on our bodies and souls. Once we allow your demonic powers to corrupt us willingly, all the divine power in the world will gather inside us and kill us in an instant. The same seal was passed down to our children."

Wow.

That was a big revelation.

Tilly immediately turned to Kiho worriedly. "Honey, do you think you have the same seal that you got from Kyro?"

"I’m not sure, but don’t worry, honey," Kiho assured her. "I have no intention of getting corrupted by the Devil’s power willingly."

Of course, that was a relief.

[And I have faith in my husband.]

Even so, she was still worried about him.

"As soon as we return, let’s have Luna check if you have that kind of seal," Tilly said firmly. "I trust you, but I don’t want to take the risk. I’ll die if you die, Kiho."

"I won’t die," Kiho assured her, laughing softly as if he found Tilly’s worrying cute. "I still want to have another child with you, honey."

Oh?

This was the first time Kiho expressed that desire clearly.

"Of course, only if you want to," Kiho said as if he was afraid that he was putting pressure on her. "It’s your body, after all."

Tilly smiled and held her husband’s hand. "Would you like another son? Or a daughter this time?"

"Honestly, it doesn’t matter to me. But I’m hoping we get blessed with a daughter this time if we decide to have another child."

"A daughter, huh?"

"I want a daughter who looks like you, honey. I bet Winter and Julian would also find her loveable."

"Aww. I can already picture that, hon."

Tilly and Kiho’s lovely moment was interrupted when the Devil spoke again.

"There’s a way for you to weaken the seal, Moon God."

"How?"

Oho?

[That means Kyro was really interested in receiving the Devil’s power from the beginning.]

In short, the Devil never forced Kyro to be his successor.

"Let’s talk again after you have a child with your wife."

"You want me to have a child?"

"See you later, Moon God."

And, just like that, the scenario changed again.

"UWAAAHHH!"

Tilly was startled when she heard the loud cry of a baby.

And then she saw the source of the lovely noise.

Yumi and Kyro were sitting on the bed while admiring a tiny human.

[Could it be...?]

"Let’s name him ’Kiho.’"

Tilly gasped when Kyro confirmed her guess. "Honey, you were so cute as a newborn!"

Kiho smiled shyly. "Thanks, honey."

She noticed that her husband looked conflicted.

And, honestly, she understood why.

[Yumi and Kyro look like normal parents at the moment, and they seem very happy with their newborn son.]

"I love it," Yumi said, gently poking Baby Kiho’s chubby cheek. "Kiho, our little hope."

Aww.

[They look like a happy family.]

Until...

"Ah, it’s a boy."

Oh.

Tilly and Kiho both turned to the person who spoke.

[The Devil is back.]
