Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 551 - 550: Leading to Wild Speculation
Mrs. Sterling’s subtle remark provoked wild imaginations.
Mrs. Sterling had earlier hinted at Felicity Sterling and Ethan Grant being together. When Ethan Grant, who had just arrived at The Preston Family estate, completely ignored Felicity and even when Mrs. Sterling spoke to him, he paid her no mind and instead walked straight up to Serena Sullivan.
This inevitably led people to suspect that Serena, just like her mother, had interfered in the relationship between Felicity and Ethan!
Everyone was intrigued to know the truth, but at the same time, they were more eager to curry favor with Mrs. Sterling.
"Let’s go!"
Just as these noblewomen were preparing to head with Mrs. Sterling to the main hall of The Preston Family estate, Ethan Grant, who had stood up, spoke slowly, "Hold on!"
His voice turned icy cold, and his expression grew indifferent.
"Mr. Grant, you’re also going?"
Mr. Preston asked with a smile, "I’ll have a servant wheel Miss Sterling over."
Having been in the business world for so many years, Mr. Preston noticed how much Ethan Grant valued Serena Sullivan.
Ethan Grant had been in the Imperial Capital for some time. Initially, he wouldn’t let go of The Sterling Family, and now he had snatched a project from them. Such an "aggressive" person, those who watched from the sidelines didn’t wish to offend.
The Grant Family’s power was undeniable; building a good relationship with them was preferable to antagonizing them.
When Ethan Grant came to The Preston Group to find him, he was extremely puzzled. Ethan Grant wasted no time on formalities and directly stated his intention of visiting The Preston Family estate.
Like others, Mr. Preston initially thought Ethan Grant was after Felicity Sterling. But upon seeing how his attention was solely on Serena Sullivan, he realized the rumors circulating from Solaria to the Imperial Capital were true.
Not wanting to offend Mrs. Sterling either, he attempted to mediate, hoping to create a pleasant atmosphere without anyone delving deep into what Mrs. Sterling had just said.
"Mrs. Sterling."
Ethan Grant didn’t answer Mr. Preston’s question. Instead, he fixed his deep gaze on Mrs. Sterling’s back, prompting her to turn around and ask with pursed lips, "Mr. Grant, do you have something to say?"
"I’m hungry; perhaps we can talk later."
She was stalling for time, hoping Ethan Grant would forget over time.
"It won’t take much of your time, Mrs. Sterling," Ethan Grant insisted, his voice chill, not giving Mrs. Sterling a chance to flee. "I just want to make an introduction to everyone."
"This is my wife, Serena Sullivan," Ethan Grant announced and then paused briefly, "No, she’s now called Nancy Sterling."
"Wife?"
The identities of a wife and a girlfriend are certainly different.
"Ethan Grant has been married for a long time."
"Yes." Ethan Grant heard the murmuring voices and continued formally, "Serena and I have been together for many years, and we held our wedding this year."
He emphasized the words "many years."
"Therefore, there’s no truth to any rumors of her being a homewrecker or anything like that."
Ethan Grant lifted his head, looking at Mrs. Sterling, whose face had grown pale, and continued, "If you’ve heard anything, it’s merely someone coveting me, maligning Serena out of spite."
His words, neither too light nor too heavy, turned into a "slap," hitting Mrs. Sterling hard across the face.
Mrs. Sterling clenched her trembling hands, never expecting that Ethan Grant would dare to offend her so much for Serena.
Claire Sullivan and her mother’s luck truly was remarkable.
"Mrs. Sterling."
Ethan Grant called again, making his words clearer, as he thoroughly offended Mrs. Sterling, "I have absolutely no interest in your daughter, so don’t waste your time."
These words, carried by the wind, reached Mrs. Sterling’s ears, instantly filling her with anger, her pale face glaring at Ethan Grant and Serena Sullivan.
