Chapter 104: Chapter 104: I Am Your Gift

Shane Warner looked down at the box handed over by Clarissa Morgan, not immediately reaching out to take it. Clearly, he hadn’t expected Clarissa to bring him a gift.

Quentin Sterling, however, didn’t notice the complexity in his wife’s gaze towards Shane Warner. Instead, he chuckled and said: "Clarissa said that when she was studying abroad, she was really grateful for your care, so she thought she’d take this opportunity to give you a gift as a thank you."

Before Shane Warner could respond, a delicate, fair hand reached over from the side and accepted the gift box: "Thank you, Sister Morgan. All those things from school were such a long time ago. My husband probably doesn’t even remember them. Sister Morgan, you don’t need to take it to heart. No need to be so polite in the future."

Clarissa Morgan just smiled politely, then turned to Shane Warner, her eyes seemingly able to hold only him: "I hope you like it."

Shane Warner didn’t reply to Clarissa Morgan’s remark; instead, he bowed his head and asked Audrey Sutton: "And you?"

Audrey Sutton glanced sideways at him with a bit of confusion, hearing him add: "Didn’t you prepare a gift for me?"

She took a look at Clarissa Morgan, then wrapped her arm around Shane Warner’s and leaned her head slightly against his arm, smiling sweetly: "I am your gift!"

Hearing her words, Shane Warner was taken aback for a moment.

He had thought she would say she didn’t know it was his birthday today and hadn’t had time to prepare a present or something like that.

Unexpectedly, she came out with such a flirtatious line.

Quentin Sterling chuckled and said in a friendly manner: "Audrey really knows how to speak."

Shane Warner smiled indulgently, embracing Audrey Sutton while saying to those around him: "Looks like almost everyone is here. Shall we go upstairs and sit?"

Upstairs, in a very large private room, on the front wall, colorful lights outlined the words "Happy

birthday," with a big "Shane" character above.

Faye Xavier was busy adjusting the champagne tower on the table, while the rest of the brothers all wore uniform black suits.

To those in the know, it was a birthday; to those who didn’t, it could’ve been mistaken for a wedding.

Audrey Sutton originally selfishly wanted to celebrate this birthday with him alone, but when he held her hand and introduced her to his friends as "this is my wife," she couldn’t help but feel happy inside.

Faye Xavier grinningly came over: "Master Shane, it’s been a while since we’ve seen you. Your life after marriage seems pretty great, you look younger already."

Shane Warner: "Are you implying I’m old?"

Faye Xavier was taken aback, not expecting the compliment to backfire, hurriedly shaking his head: "Not old, not at all. If we weren’t familiar with each other, I’d think you were eighteen!"

Audrey Sutton covered her mouth and giggled, while Shane Warner gave her a stern look. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

He used not to care about his age, but now he seemed sensitive about it.

Audrey Sutton cheekily added: "What eighteen-year-old is that old?"

Shane Warner darkened his face and withdrew his arm from her grasp, turning to walk towards Luc and Mor while Faye Xavier trotted behind, grinning as he said: "Sister-in-law said that, not me."

Audrey Sutton murmured: "So petty."

She looked down at the black velvet gift box she had just taken from Clarissa Morgan, glanced at the nearby table full of gift boxes, and placed the box she held onto it.

Just as the box settled, a hand with light pink nail polish reached over, picking up the box, and she heard Clarissa Morgan’s voice: "I’d rather give it to him personally."

Audrey Sutton turned to Clarissa Morgan and asked: "Do you think this is fair to Brother Sterling?"

Clarissa Morgan lifted her lips into a smile and retorted: "What have I done?"

"You know what you’re doing."

"It’s just a gift, no need to be so tense. If he truly loves you, you should feel secure, right? There’s no need to bother with me."

Audrey Sutton smiled: "I wonder if Miss Morgan, living abroad for so long, has heard a certain saying from back home."

Clarissa Morgan raised an eyebrow, smiling lightly, awaiting Audrey Sutton’s next words.

Audrey Sutton chuckled and said: "A toad crouching on your foot doesn’t bite, but it sure is irritating."

Clarissa Morgan’s upturned lips stiffened, and Audrey Sutton turned away, lifting her skirt as she walked off on her high heels.

Yet, as she turned, she immediately saw Lan Irving enter through the door, looking around before heading straight towards Shane Warner.

Lan Irving’s beauty was different from Clarissa Morgan’s. Clarissa had an immediately striking quality, while Lan had a subtle, reserved elegance that evoked a sense of peace and contentment.

If these two women weren’t interested in Shane Warner, Audrey Sutton might have appreciated them more.

She watched as Lan Irving walked over to Shane Warner, extending a white rectangular gift box to him.

Shane Warner glanced down, reached out to take it, and mouthed what seemed to be "thank you," then turned to Julian Bishop, appearing to converse with him.

Audrey Sutton felt truly weary; there were too many to watch out for, and she couldn’t handle them all.

But the good thing was that Shane Warner didn’t seem interested in women, which of course, included herself.

Seeing him always surrounded by a bunch of men, Audrey Sutton began to question for the first time if he was straight, especially after linking him to her own comics.

Gazing at the crowd of handsome men, Audrey Sutton wondered who among them was the "lucky" one.

Julian Bishop? Or Luc and Mor? It couldn’t possibly be Faye Xavier, since he changed women like changing clothes.

Or... perhaps her third brother?

It seemed like they had a lot of hidden communication, and even the matter of her asking for pocket money from her third brother got back to Shane Warner.

"Audrey, you look beautiful today."

The voice from behind snapped her out of her troubling thoughts, and she turned to see Miles Sterling standing behind her with a woman in a black dress.

It turned out to be the same woman they had bumped into at the milk tea shop the other day.

Audrey Sutton looked around and asked Miles Sterling with a smile: "How come Vanessa didn’t come?"

Miles Sterling chuckled and said: "She doesn’t like going out."

"Had I known you were coming, I’d have invited her along." Audrey sighed. Almost everyone there was Shane Warner’s friend, and she had no one to really talk to.

As the leading role of the evening, Shane Warner was mostly mingling with friends and classmates he hadn’t seen in a long time, chatting with this one and that one, hardly paying her any attention.

She suddenly heard her phone ringing from inside her bag, the caller ID showing an unknown number.

She moved to a quieter corner to take the call: "Hello, who’s this?"

"Audrey, it’s me."

Hearing the voice, Audrey Sutton paused for a moment: "Vincent... Mr. Warner?"

On the other end, Vincent Warner said: "Is it convenient for you to come down? I’m at the entrance."

Audrey Sutton hesitated, glancing at Shane Warner in the distance. She felt like every time she met Vincent Warner, Shane Warner got very angry, and he had repeatedly told her not to meet with Vincent.

She was silent for a moment before asking: "Is something the matter?"
