Chapter 684: Chapter 684: I Don’t Have a Sister Like Her

The high school welcomed the weekend, and shortly after four o’clock in the afternoon, students swarmed out of the school.

The three grades staggered their dismissal times, with Hannah Sue in tenth grade and Grace Sue in eleventh grade.

Hannah Sue finished school ten minutes before Grace Sue but stayed in the dorms afterward.

When she left the school gate, she happened to bump into Grace Sue.

Grace Sue was popular at school, or rather, because the Sue Family was somewhat esteemed in Rivia, everyone wanted to befriend her.

And Grace Sue made good use of this, isolating Hannah Sue from the first day she entered the school using her "connections."

So, a common scene at school was Grace Sue being surrounded by a group of people, while Hannah Sue was always alone.

Even those who weren’t against Hannah Sue didn’t dare to befriend her because of Grace Sue, as if getting too close to Hannah could upset Grace.

To avoid clashing with Grace Sue, Hannah purposefully slowed her pace.

From afar, she watched Grace Sue walk toward a black car parked on the roadside.

Hannah Sue recognized that it wasn’t the driver’s car but Bryce Sue’s car.

At home, aside from Dad, only this eldest brother seemed decent.

Grace Sue eagerly bounced to the car, happily saying to Bryce Sue, "Big brother? Why did you come to pick me up today?"

"Yates went to the airport to pick up Dad. I had nothing much to do this afternoon, so I came by. Where’s Hannah?"

At the mention of Hannah Sue, Grace Sue’s face showed undisguised disdain: "Who knows about her? She left school earlier than I did; she’s probably already gone."

Bryce Sue said, "I’ll give her a call."

Grace Sue opened the car door and sat inside, complaining, "I don’t want to ride in the same car with her! It’s not like she can’t find her way back; big brother, don’t worry about her."

As Bryce Sue was about to make the call, he saw Hannah Sue walking out from the school gate and patiently said to Grace Sue, "Hannah is your sister. Don’t always compete with her like when you were kids."

Grace Sue retorted, "I don’t have a sister like her! She’s the child of a nobody!"

Bryce Sue glared at Grace Sue: "Stop talking nonsense, or Dad will scold you if he hears." 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"Hmph!"

Only then did Bryce Sue lower the car window and call out to Hannah Sue, "Hannah!"

Initially intending to walk straight ahead, Hannah Sue couldn’t pretend she hadn’t seen them anymore.

She walked to the car, looked at Bryce, then at Grace in the front passenger seat, and finally greeted, "Big brother."

Bryce Sue said, "Get in the car."

Hannah Sue pressed her lips together and politely declined, "I made plans with a friend to buy something in town; you guys should head home first."

Bryce Sue nodded, "Okay, Dad’s coming back today. Don’t stay out too late, come back early."

Hannah Sue responded, "Okay."

Watching Bryce’s car drive away, Hannah sighed and slowly walked along the road home.

She didn’t have any friends to go shopping with, and initially planned to take a cab home. Having said she’d go shopping, she naturally couldn’t go home quickly.

But after a few days of high-intensity physical education classes, her legs were sore and weak, making her reluctant to walk.

Just then, she noticed a tour bus parked next to the bus stop ahead, costing two bucks for a loop around the city, with the option to get off anytime. She would often use this method to relieve herself whenever she felt down.

She disliked the feeling of looping back to the starting point, so she usually got off at the intersection closest to home, though truthfully, she didn’t want to return to that home.

Midway, she passed by the hospital where Evan Sutton worked.

She only heard that he would be leaving town soon but didn’t know when he would go.

Hesitant, she got off at the bus stop next to the hospital and walked directly to the pediatric office that used to belong to Evan Sutton.

Outside the door, patients lined up for appointments, but the doctor inside had already been replaced.

It seemed he must have already left.

"Hey? You’re here again, young lady?"

Hearing a voice, Hannah Sue turned to see a young woman in a nurse’s outfit, recognizing her as Evan Sutton’s former assistant.

"Are you here to see Director Sutton again? He’s been transferred to Newmont; didn’t he tell you?"

"Newmont?" Hannah Sue quickly asked, "Which hospital?"

The nurse shook her head, "I’m not sure which one exactly, but it should be not far from the city center."

"...Oh, thank you."

The nurse smiled, "I’ll talk to you later; I need to get back to work."

Hannah Sue nodded with a faint smile and stood thoughtfully in the corridor for a while before turning to leave.

Although Newmont’s conditions weren’t as prosperous as Rivia, it was still considered a first-tier city.

On the way back, Hannah Sue looked up and found that there were three hospitals near the city center, neither too far nor too close to each other. If she wanted to find him, she could finish searching them all in one day.

A thought suddenly popped into her mind; next time school had a short break, she would go find him.

With a new sense of anticipation, her mood seemed to improve significantly.

Arriving home, she hadn’t reached the door yet when she heard the cheerful sounds of laughter from inside.

Every time she saw such a scene, Hannah felt she was extraneous, and it indeed seemed to be the case.

"Hannah’s home?" Upon hearing her dad’s kind voice, Hannah finally showed a smile, "Dad."

Old Master Sue turned to instruct a servant, "You can start preparing the meal; Grace already said she’s hungry."

Hannah Sue lowered her eyes, changing into slippers by the door, without joining in the conversation in the living room, and quietly went upstairs.

Pushing open her bedroom door, the scene inside left her momentarily stunned at the doorway.

Her room wasn’t supposed to be cleaned by the servants, so she remembered tidying it up before going to school, changing the sheets and mopping the floor. But now, the floor was covered in colorful acrylic paint stains, and there were large patches of blue ink on the white sheets.

The stains had already dried, evidently having been there for several days.

She didn’t need to ponder it, clearly Grace had done it.

Listening to Evan’s advice, Hannah had been biting her tongue in patience these days, but now fury surged wildly through her at once, and she immediately stormed into Grace Sue’s room, dumping two basins of water she fetched from the bathroom onto Grace’s bed.

By coincidence or someone’s deliberate setup, Grace’s mother happened to walk upstairs and saw this scene, instantly starting to scold, "Are you out of your mind?! Old Master! Old Master, come quickly, this girl is trying to drive me crazy!"

Hearing her cries, everyone in the house hurriedly rushed upstairs.

Grace saw her bed, still dripping with water, and then looked at Hannah, still holding the basin, and immediately charged forward to push Hannah hard: "Are you insane?! Dad, look at her!"
