Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 685: She Just Wants to Leave
Old Master Sue saw the scene before him, frowned at Hannah Sue, and questioned her: "What are you doing?!"
Hannah Sue dropped the basin in her hand, pointed at Grace Sue and said, "She was the one who splashed ink in my room first!"
Grace Sue immediately denied it: "Stop falsely accusing me! I haven’t even been to your room!"
Hannah Sue retorted: "Who else could it be besides you?!"
Grace Sue immediately put on a wronged look, pulling her mother’s hand and acting spoiled: "Mom, look at her! Now she knows how to frame people! It’s the thief who cries thief!"
"Old Master, you just came back and this brat is already causing trouble for you. I think she just wants to create chaos in our Sue Family to be happy!"
"Enough! Can’t you be peaceful for a moment?! Always causing trouble!" Saying this, Old Master Sue angrily said to Hannah Sue, "Go back to your room! Don’t come down for dinner tonight!"
Hannah Sue frowned, still hoping her father would be a fair judge, and said: "Dad, she started it!"
"Enough! Even if she started it, can’t the family discuss things peacefully? Must it be an eye for an eye? Gracie is immature, but you are not? This is simply nonsense! Go back to your room and reflect carefully!"
Hannah Sue looked at this so-called family in disappointment, holding back tears as she watched Grace Sue’s smug face, feeling utterly unwilling, but forced to swallow the bitterness.
Because when she and Grace Sue argued, no one in this family would help her at all.
While hiding in her room feeling wronged and in pain, no one would come to comfort her, she could still hear Grace Sue complaining and lamenting to her father outside.
Clearly, it was trouble caused by Grace Sue, yet no one scolded her.
With tear-blurred vision, looking at the messy bedroom, recalling her father’s reprimand, the thought of leaving this home grew even stronger.
Outside, the sky gradually darkened, her stomach growled with hunger, but no one thought to call her to dinner, as if she was someone who could be forgotten at any moment.
Standing up from the floor, her legs were numb; leaning against the wall, she walked to the bed and sat down, pulling out the piggy bank hidden in the bedside cabinet, and "bang" it hit the floor, scattering coins and bills everywhere.
Hannah Sue counted, after saving for six or seven years, she had only over three thousand bucks.
But it was enough.
After organizing the money into her backpack, Hannah Sue put on the backpack and went downstairs.
Passing through downstairs, the family was having dinner in the dining room.
Bryce Sue, seeing Hannah Sue, asked from afar: "Hannah, where are you going this late?"
Hannah Sue didn’t answer, walked to the door, changed her shoes, and pushed the door open to leave, closing it just as Grace Sue’s mom said: "Don’t mind her, she’s just a wild girl."
Old Master Sue simply kept a stern face and said nothing.
Hannah Sue took a taxi to the high-speed rail station, bought a ticket to Newmont for the evening run at eight, the journey was about an hour and a half.
While waiting, she ate a bowl of noodles at a nearby noodle shop to fill her stomach, then sat alone in the waiting room in a daze.
She wasn’t sure if she could find him when she got there, she just wanted to leave, didn’t even want to come back.
When she arrived in Newmont, it was about half past nine, the high-speed rail station still brightly lit and bustling with people.
Following the crowd out of the station, she stood on the station square, staring at the ink-black sky, unsure where to go next.
This was the first time she had traveled so far alone; the security in big cities might be safer, but she still felt uneasy.
"Young lady? Where are you heading? Carpooling?"
Hannah Sue glanced at the middle-aged man in front of her, stepped aside to stay clear of him.
Soon, another middle-aged woman approached her asking: "Young lady, looking for a hotel? I have discount coupons here, just nearby, I can show you."
Hannah Sue quickly shook her head, pretending she had a destination in mind, and walked straight across the road.
Thinking about how late it was, if she went to the hospital to find someone now, they might have gone off-duty, better to first find a place to stay and try her luck during the day tomorrow.
Though she lacked much social experience, she had watched a lot of news.
Regarding those small motels, she wasn’t brave enough to go alone, so she headed straight to a large hotel not far away.
The LED sign by the door showed the room rate for tonight, she saw the cheapest rooms were over three hundred.
Grinding her teeth, she went in anyway, only to have the receptionist tell her they couldn’t check her in because she was a minor, despite her ID being ready.
She inquired about several hotels nearby, receiving similar refusals.
Seeing the small motels, dark and dimly lit, her mind conjured all sorts of odd scenarios, truly lacking the courage to enter.
Standing by the roadside and browsing the map on her phone, she discovered the nearest hospital was nearby, just five stops away by bus.
Hannah Sue hurried back to the bus stop by the station, catching the last bus of the night.
The station was teeming with people, and there were quite a few taking the bus at this time.
Hannah Sue luckily managed to find a window seat, looking at this unfamiliar city, her heart oddly soothed.
But considering that since she left, there hadn’t been a call or a message of concern on her phone, her heart felt somewhat sour.
Her nose suddenly tinged with soreness, her eyes watered slowly under the night breeze.
As the bus stopped at the station, Hannah Sue got off and saw the hospital’s main entrance was right across the street.
Getting off, the cold wind made her shiver, she zipped her coat up, carried her backpack on her front, and walked straight into the hospital.
The hospital at night still had medical staff on duty, though it seemed quieter than during the day.
Hannah Sue entered the hospital building, glancing around, the unfamiliar setting made her lost.
Just in time, she saw a woman in a white coat come out of the elevator, Hannah Sue rushed to stop her: "Excuse me, can you tell me where pediatrics is?"
"Pediatrics? In the building opposite, the first floor is the clinic, the pediatric ward is on the fourth floor."
Hannah Sue: "Oh, thank you."
Pausing, Hannah Sue tentatively asked: "Um... Is Dr. Evan Sutton at your hospital?"
The woman raised her eyebrows, smiled: "Director Sutton sure is well-known, he just transferred to our hospital a few days ago, and many people are requesting to see him."
Hannah Sue was surprised and somewhat skeptical, she confirmed once more: "Is he really at your hospital?!"
The woman nodded: "Yes, but I’m not familiar with their department’s shifts, so I don’t know if he’s on duty tonight. You can go over and ask, if he’s not there, you might have to come back during the day tomorrow."
"Great! Thank you so much!"
With that, Hannah Sue hurried towards the opposite building...
