My Beloved Dog is the Strongest in Another World-Chapter 1222
I spoke with the servants
“Mr. Alfred. We didn’t come here because we were bored.”
“Yes. It is only because we care so much about Lady Claire…and Mr. Takumi…”
“Some of us were really impatient and hoping they would hurry up and..”
“Hey, Mr. Takumi is right there!”
“Ah…haha… Well, there is no need to be formal…”
Several of the servants began to protest as Alfred suggested they were bored and just here to see something interesting.
“Now, please be quiet everyone. Mr. Takumi, we are ready.”
“Ah, yes…”
Ms. Lyra clapped her hands and the room quieted down, and everyone turned towards me.
“Well… Yes, it is all what you are thinking. I gathered you here because… I want to go forward with things…in regards to Claire. Before we leave for Range Village…”
“Ohh!”
“Finally!”
“Lady Claire has waited long enough!”
Judging by their reactions, they must have been watching us very closely.
Ms. Johanna raised her fist triumphantly into the air, and she also wiped away a tear.
“Now, now. I understand how you all feel, but Mr. Takumi has not finished talking.”
“Silence! You will speak after Mr. Takumi is finished!”
Alfred and Ms. Lyra said admonishingly.
“Ehem! Uh… Of course, that means I will be telling her my feelings directly. Um…obviously, whether things advance from there…is up to her decision… If anything, things might go backwards…”
My voice trailed off, and I realized how much confidence I lacked.
It wasn’t that I didn’t have a good idea about how she felt… But I couldn’t be sure that everything would go perfectly.
After all, she had not told me it directly.
“…May I?”
“Yes. Ms. Jane.”
“I think it is a wonderful thing that you are going to tell her, Mr. Takumi. However…am I to understand that you think a rejection is possible?”
“I am not known for being sharp…but even I have sensed her feelings. I am just saying that nothing is absolute. After all…I lack experience in such things.”
Jane nodded understandingly.
The truth was, I did not really think I would be rejected.
It was just that there was no guarantee. And so my mind started to wonder about other possibilities.
“Putting that aside… I brought you all here to get some advice. On how to tell her…”
I probably should have thought of such things on my own, but…
“Yes, Keith.”
“Mr. Takumi. Why don’t you just be honest and straightforward? What is wrong with that?”
“That’s true, but…”
I heard a few of the women object quietly to Keith.
“I suppose it’s because…I feel bad about making her wait this long. And so I want it to be a little special…”
I had a good idea about her feelings around the time that Mr. Ekenhart interrogated me… And a lot of time had passed since then.
“In other words, just asking her would be boring. And you want to do something exciting…? Well, Mr. Takumi, I didn’t take you for that kind of person.”
Phillip said with a suggestive grin.
“Uh, I don’t know what you mean by that…”
“I see the women agree with him there.”
Several of the maids were smiling with approval.
Regardless, I brushed it aside so we could move on.
Basically, I wanted to do something that was both an apology for making her wait, and also a show of gratitude for everything up until now.
Like a present or special words…
A present was one thing. But I definitely struggled to think of the right things to say…
