My Demon Wife In The Apocalypse: I Can Control Minds!-Chapter 74 - 73- Two Sides
Chapter 73- Two Sides
For someone as ridiculously talented as Jack, each fight, no matter how insignificant it might seem, is a huge step forward in his learning curve. He is someone who takes advantage of every single move, every single attack, and every single thing his senses capture before storing it in his head as new information to use.
So, even the small and easy fights were contributing to his rapid growth, something not many others can say. It was what made Jack special, his inherent ability to understand deeper and faster than most people could ever even imagine.
It was as if every part of him was made for this cursed world, for this continuous struggle for evolution and the survival of the fittest rules that were established the moment everything changed.
Unaware of his own progress, Jack sliced through his enemies without any hesitation. His speed kept increasing, and his lethality only got better with each swing. His precision was terrifying for someone at his level, as he could easily slice through the insects while leaving the human bodies intact.
As easy as it would be if he did that, Jack didn’t want to harm these bodies, as their loved ones wouldn’t be able to handle it. Even earlier, when he burnt that corpse to a crisp, he hated doing that a lot. That was a normal lady, and if it wasn’t for urgency, he would’ve tried his best to try and ruin the body like that.
Her son was bound to be scarred for life because of that sight. However, this cruel world had forced his hand, and to preserve everyone’s life, he had to take extreme measures.
But here, he had control over everything.
*Swish*
Moving around, Jack’s sword never rested. Blood splashed everywhere, including on him. The blood of insects was naturally disgusting, far worse than normal blood, and it almost made Jack throw up. But his self-control kept him focused as he left devastation amongst the enemy lines.
No one could catch him as they stretched their arms. Even if they were smarter and faster than before, they were still far off Jack’s level.
In a matter of moments, Jack wiped out many targets while many more grouped up around him, trying to take him down.
’I don’t know if these things can take over my body, and I frankly don’t want to find out.’ Dodging a stretched hand, Jack killed another insect.
The pressure kept increasing, and the tight areas that Jack had to navigate kept getting smaller and smaller until his body was barely able to dodge attacks. His flexibility helped a lot, but he knew that it wouldn’t take long before he would be completely surrounded.
*Sizzle*
Eventually, he shifted his aim and quickly tried to run out of the mess. Using his immense speed, he was able to easily escape the sticky situation.
’Damn it, their numbers are decreasing, but not fast enough.’ He cursed as he stared over his shoulder. ’We lost many lives... Fuck.’
It was horrible. With no other option in hand, Jack ran a good distance away from the monsters as they chased him quickly.
He didn’t know what to do with this many of them still alive. But, he knew that it wouldn’t be easy to just get rid of them.
’Trapping them won’t work either since they’re smart. Think, Jack, think.’ Wrecking his brain for any ideas, Jack found himself at the end of a crossroad.
Looking left and right, he decided to run in a random direction. The monsters followed suit without thinking much.
As he crossed to the other side of the road, the boy suddenly came to a halt as he saw something in the distance.
On the other side of the road, Jack saw a group of Undead clustered around, closing the street.
’You have got to be kidding me.’ Looking over his shoulder, the boy clenched his teeth. He was now almost stuck there.
He can’t go back cuz its dangerous and he also can’t go forward or he will threaten to reveal his location to the undead. He really doesn’t need more things chasing him like rabid beasts.
But, with not many options, the boy decided to just follow his guts and continued running forward. At some point, the Undead noticed his presence and growled loudly before they tried to run toward him.
At the same time, the insect victims were closing down from the other side. Jack was getting sandwiched rapidly.
’Maybe... Could that actually work?’
An idea started forming in Jack’s head. One so devious that he was even shocked he came up with it. However, with no time to contemplate if it really could work or not, he decided to go for it.
As he closed down on the Undead, Jack suddenly turned around and ran toward the nearest building and quickly started climbing the pipe. At the same time, both sides continued approaching one another and eventually noticed each other.
Jack continued climbing while watching the scene curiously. ’What would happen if they end up facing one another? Would they try to chase me together or...’
He was a bit curious about the kind of interaction they would have. After all, one side are all Undead while the other side are all normal people controlled by insects.
Eventually, the two sides reached one another and without any hesitation... Attacked one another brutally.
The Undead lunged on them, trying to bite them while the others tried to push them away. A big brawl started out of nowhere as more than a hundred different individual fought brutally.
Growls and cries echoed around the place. Jack was completely shocked by the scenes, it was something he never thought he would ever see in his life.
Blood splurted everywhere and the insects were immediately being pushed back. Many were bitten as they fell to the ground while others were able to attack and kill a few Undead with their bare hands.
The bloody battle... However, just only started.
