My Dragon King System-Chapter 325: To The End Of The Demon King
The knowledge was transmitted into Aiden’s flow of thoughts at once, but just then recognition dawned back on Samael’s blank expression and his face tilted into a frown.
"I see. So that’s how it is," Aiden said. "The reason you throw yourself at me and take my attacks head-on, despite knowing their strength, is because your life force is rooted in the existence of the universe itself."
Samael’s eyes widened at first, hating the fact that card had been revealed, but almost immediately the grin returned.
"You’ve realized it" he said in mocking tone
Samael was using an evolved version of Gaia’s law; "I am. I will always be. For my existence is rooted in creation."
With this law, Gaia’s life force had been rooted fundamentally to Earth’s existence, which made her nearly indestructible in any conventional sense.
To truly bring harm to Gaia, one would have to destroy the earth.
Samael had rooted his own life force to something far greater. The universe itself.
As long as this universe existed, so too would Samael exist within it. Any damage dealt to him would simply translate into injuries that his tremendous healing capabilities could recover from within seconds or minutes at most depending on severity.
"So if you want to kill me permanently," Samael continued, "you’ll have to destroy everything. This entire universe."
His grin turned vicious.
"But you won’t do that, will you? Because destroying this universe would have catastrophic effects on the other timeline. The one you’re trying so desperately to protect."
And that right there, was the problem Aiden had also realized with a law like that.
Samael crossed his arms over his chest, confident in his victory.
"Face it, Black Dragon. You’ve already lost. It might take a while, but don’t think I haven’t realized that this power belonging to Father is only temporary. And when it runs out, what will you do then?"
He laid both hands out theatrically, "how will you then face me?"
Aiden stared at him in silence. That was also another truth. Each time he threw an attack or countered Samael, he was sapping more and more of the fragments of transcendence which were acting as a fuel.
Sure he could still go on for another while, but it seemed Samael was keen on playing on the long game.
But right then the words of Syqora played back into his thoughts.
"Here in our universe, the rules automatically make us dragons among the most powerful beings in existence. But in another universe? We may not be at the top of the food chain."
This was an explanation syqora gave as a valid reason to why they had to send the fallen angel away to another universe
But Aiden wasn’t going to simply send Samael away. No, that plan had become Obsolete. What he had in mind made a smile cross his face
Samael’s confident demeanor faltered when he saw it. "What are you smiling about?" He demanded.
Aiden raised one hand and said calmly,
"You’re right about one thing, I can’t destroy this universe without consequences."
He paused, then added:
"But I don’t need to."
"Hm.." Samael grunted, waiting to see where this would lead to.
"You see," Aiden continued, "creators are the ones who establish rules of their universes. The laws that govern the hierarchy of power. And right now, i am the only one between us who is really close to that status"
His smile widened, "what if I can tamper with those rules"
Samael’s eyes widened in sudden understanding. "No," he whispered. "You can’t—"
"Watch me!" Aiden grinned, and right then Samael flew towards him at high speed.
Two avatars materialized to Aiden’s side. "Hold him down for a minute" he said and they both flew towards Samael.
Glowing rings of light with arcane symbols starts orbiting slowly around Aiden.
He gestured both hands like an orchestrator as bluish-white energy began gathering and condensing into patterns that looked like cosmic scripts writing itself onto the void.
Then he felt a lash back, as if he had just been struck back by an invisible wall. This was the effect of the universe’s already established rules rejecting him. The First Creator’s original lsaws were pushing back against Aiden’s attempt to rewrite them.
"No, this has to work!" Aiden said and continued making attempting at it even as the system kept pulling out error messages
Samael lifted his palm forward to cast another technique, but one of the avatars intercepted it. The duplicate lifted a hand and whispered, "Misfortune."
The avatar channeled Aiden’s authority as Weaver of Fortune, inflicting Samael with bad luck and forcing whatever he attempted to misfire in another direction.
At the same time, another avatar followed up, channeling the authority as King of the Forge and forming condensed beams of starlight that blasted straight into Samael.
Samael roared out ferociously, with his voice releasing a shockwave that tore through the impact and dispersing the explosion after it struck him.
"You come at me with mere replicas, Black Dragon?!"
He still rushed forward, barely slowed by the damage, especially since the attacks lacked the weight of the original.
In the distance, the real Aiden looked like he was almost dancing around as he wove the runes and symbols together. There was visible strain on Aiden’s face as the fragment’s power drained faster than normal.
Samael tore through the last of the replicas and closed in on Aiden, who was still gesturing in the orchestration of the scripts.
The fallen angel thrust his hand forward to use a technique that would foil Aiden’s attempts, but right then, the black dragon’s hands stopped moving as he had just set the final rune into place.
And in that moment, the universe trembled.
Samael abruptly halted, wide an expression of utmost shock on his face.
The change happened instantly, and the fallen angel felt his power drain away. It wasn’t absorbed or anything, it was simply rendered invalid by the new rules governing the universe.
IN THIS WORLD, THE FALLEN ANGEL SAMAEL WILL BE THE WEAKEST EXISTENCE
That was the new rule made.
Where moments before he’d been an infinite being capable of matching the Dragon God in combat, now he was nothing.
The weakest person in this entire universe.
Samael’s face looked distraught. He could feel it, the power was right there but he couldn’t grab.
Then the crown hovering above his head crumbled and faded away. The rule change was taking effect, though slowly, because it was such a profound contradiction.
Samael’s existence carried power within him that suggested anything but weakness. Yet a rule was a rule, and reality could not disobey.
Instead, it would adjust itself gradually to accommodate the contradiction.
"What is happening to me?" Samael said in genuine surprise as he looked at his palms.
"Since the dawn of time, you were always at the top." Aiden’s voice wasn’t alone. There was a white glow in his eyes as seven other voices spoke with him in perfect unison, the voices of the dragons residing in him.
"The one being who even Dragons came to fear." Aiden’s smile widened into something devious.
"But now, even an ant could crush you beneath its heel."
Samael’s eyes widened, next he began losing his breath. An existence regarded as the weakest could not possibly survive the harsh conditions of space.
Aiden appeared before him and took hold of his neck then began absorbing every last fragment of transcendence within the fallen angel’s body.
White light poured out of Samael in streams as his essence was ripped away piece by piece until nothing remained but a withering empty husk.
"This world will fare better without a demon king." Aiden said, staring down condescendingly at Samael.
The Dragon god stretched his hand towards the Demon King and whispered, "your time is done"
And with that, several cracks of white light appeared all Samael’s body before he crumbled away into specs of white light.
The threat was finally over.
The Demon King was gone.
