Chapter 326: What Next?

Aiden heaved a sigh. It was finally over.

A smile crossed his face, one of genuine relief, and it grew until he found himself laughing.

The sound echoed across the empty void, carried by nothing but his own joy.

But that happiness was short-lived.

Suddenly, he felt it. The weight of several eyes on him. A gaze so intense it pressed against his very being.

Aiden turned, staring into the distance with narrowed eyes.

The gazes were far away, yet somehow close at the same time. And they made his skin crawl.

He stared for a moment longer, as though meeting those unseen eyes with his own defiant stare before finally letting out another sigh.

He had a rough guess who these might be, but that wasn’t worth the worry at this time.

So, he turned his attention back to the ruined darkness of space around him.

What mattered most right now was repairing the damage. The damage he’d caused to the timeline by using Checkpoint, and the damage Samael had caused to this world.

Both needed to be undone.

And so he began.

With the extra fragments he just gained from Samael, he had more than enough to fix it all.

Glowing rings of light began forming in the space around his suspended form, each one etched with arcane symbols that radiated with power as they slowly rotated around him.

Aiden was surrounded by a complex geometric pattern of spinning light. The rings cast blue and violet illumination into the void as they orbited around him at different speeds, creating shifting patterns of shadow and radiance across his form.

In the distance, massive shapes began drifting around the corners of the cosmos. They were shadowy and ethereal, resembling enormous whales swimming through an ocean, as they chose to be silent witnesses to what was about to occur.

Aiden then began channeling all seven authorities at once.

Time. Space. Destruction. Creation. Destiny. Mind. Replication.

First he grasped the fragile thread that connected the two universes running parallel to each other, and with his power and began pulling.

The rings around him spun faster as he poured more energy into the task.

Aiden began weaving the two timelines together. He took moments from one timeline and matched them with corresponding moments in the other, aligning events until they overlapped perfectly.

Where contradictions existed between the two timelines, he used his authority over destiny to choose which version would become reality in the merged timeline.

Where people had died in one but lived in another, he chose life whenever possible.

Samael’s death became absolute across both timelines. The gods who’d fallen in the original timeline were restored to existence in the merged one. The humans who’d suffered and died unfairly were brought back as though their deaths had never occurred.

Slowly but surely, the two universes began merging with each other, rather seamlessly.

Aiden could feel the strain on himself growing with each passing moment. Maintaining this level of power output had to be the most difficult thing he’d ever done, but he didn’t stop.

He still felt those stared, but ignored them and focused entirely on his task.

The rings around him spun so fast now as they became blurs of light, with their edges merging together until it looked like he was suspended within a sphere of pure radiance.

And then, all at once, The two timelines merged together.

A shockwave rippled outward from Aiden’s position, expanding in every direction at speeds that defied measurement.

It passed through stars and galaxies, through nebulae and black holes, through every corner of both universes simultaneously.

And when it finished passing through everything that existed within those two realities, they were no longer separate entities.

They were one.

A single unified timeline where Samael had been defeated and the world had been saved.

Where the gods still lived and humans still thrived. Where everything that should have been preserved across both timelines now existed together in harmony.

Aiden exhaled slowly as the rings around him began dissolving back into nothingness. The glow faded from his eyes as he released his hold on the authorities he’d been channeling.

It was done. The timeline was fixed, with a few tweaks.

He floated there in silence for a moment longer, feeling the weight of exhaustion settle over him now that the task was complete.

But even through that exhaustion, he smiled again.

In Ah’Me

Raphael stood beside Michael in one of the grand halls overlooking the universe below them. His expression was troubled as he turned toward his brother.

"Did you feel that just now?" Raphael asked.

Michael’s face was set in a deep frown as he stared out at the void beyond their realm.

"Yes," Michael said.

There was a long pause before he added:

"They know."

"They know now," he repeated.

AUTHOR’S NOTE HERE:

I’m going to start with saying, "Thank You All"

For reading all the way to this point? Some of you, like Draigo and French Vanilla_45 have been following this since like Day One!

Goddamn! Thank You All So Much! New Readers, Older ones, I appreciate every single support and kindness

It’s been a glorious ride for me

Reaching this end of the road for the Demon King took 325 Chapters, 406k words and more than five months.

A little part of me may have also gotten attached and that makes me a bit sad too, but you know, it had to be done.

Is This The End Of the Road For Dragon King System?. Pfft, Hell no, it’s not. I know i already answered this, but i still want to reiterate.

But I wanted to address some mistakes with the book; The first real issue was the pacing. Honestly, I didn’t want to write a slow paced book, but I did not want a fast paced one either.

My greatest problem was fear. The fear of not wanting readers to drop the book because it was too slow or I wasn’t moving the plot.

I was looking for a middle ground, but still missed the mark. I think from somewhere around the second volume up until this point it just went really fast.

I missed out on Alot, especially with developing other important characters.

I realized how fast i was going too late, and frankly i couldn’t stop because it would have just made the story feel a lot worse.

So i put my best in, making sure the plot was still as good as I could make it regardless.

Oh well, what’s done is done and I can only say that all of these experiences have taught me and made me a much better writer.

What should you expect in Volume 4?

First off there’ll be a time-skip, and it’s going to be a really long one. I’m considering ATLEAST one year minimum.

It could most likely scale up to maybe 3 or 5 years, not sure. But it’s not going to be less than 1 year or more than 5 years. (so maybe, you readers can help me decided under the Chapter comments or on discord)

Of course it’s a timeskip and a lot would have changed within that period, so expect the spin up of a wonderful story continuation.

I would give put some effort into developing the important characters, and I promise to do so without affecting the progression of the main story.

So fear not, this will not feel like we regressed, at all.

My Goal with Volume 4 is not just a better story but to give these other important characters their relevance once more.

Especially for what’s coming.

Ah yes, about the Lemon Scenes for the cultured readers(18+) ; This will improve exponentially as well. I finally get how it’s done now so I guarantee you this, you’ll have long worthwhile reads.

What About Wives? Are We To Expect More?

Short answer? Yes.

Muahahahahaha, just wait for it!

SEE Y’ALL IN VOLUME 4!
