“Wouldn’t it be more difficult for the humans to fight the undead on the road? At least in Mendoza, we’re behind walls,” Anton said to Captain Rogers.
“It’s more difficult. This time, though, the army would consist of three kingdoms. Ormunda, New Drennor, and the remaining army from Mendoza. I’m here to inform you that Ormunda is inviting you to lead one hundred men as a captain,” Captain Rogers said.
“No. As I’ve mentioned before, when I joined the special forces established by Ormunda, I was too young to become a leader and didn’t know anything about it. I’ve already reached the rank of Supreme, and my specialty is destruction magic. I prefer to be treated as a weapon by someone and aim that weapon against the undead,” Anton replied.
Captain Rogers was not perturbed by what Anton had said and calmly replied.
“We actually expected that request from you, and we understand. Ormunda just wanted to give you a second option if you want to take it because they understand that you’re a truly capable young man. We also heard from the surviving wizards, of whom your friend Cedon was one, that you’ve almost reached the Supreme Rank, and based on what you’ve said, you’re ahead by a few weeks. So we decided to add you to an elite team that’s focused on offense. They’re basically “weapons”, which is the thing that you want.”
Anton was happy to hear that Cedon had survived.
“I accept. When should I report?”
“Please go to the West Gate by the day after tomorrow. Thank you for receiving me. I should go, since I still have to visit a lot of wizards,” Captain Rogers said.
Anton led the captain to the front door, then returned to his room to write letters for Raymond to give to his father and mail to his sister. More than likely, Anton would have already left Ormunda before Anders returned from the dungeon. He also wanted to make sure that Anna would be aware of what was happening with the family.
Once he gave the letter to Raymond to be given to his father and to be mailed to Anna, he told the butler that he would be leaving Ormunda the day after tomorrow to join the army from the three kingdoms that would intercept the Undead Coalition’s undead horde that was going to attack New Drennor.
“Please make sure that you keep yourself safe, Anton. You are the pillar of this family,” the butler said.
“You don’t need to worry too much, Raymond. I’ve managed to give father my bloodline magic, and soon he will be as powerful as me!”
“That’s only a part of what made you the pillar. It was you who started everything here in Ormunda, and it was you who hired us,” Raymond whispered.
Anton just smiled at Raymond, then the butler left. In the meantime, he returned to leveling up his ladder Sorceress until the sun had set. Regarding the garden and the fruit orchard, and now the grain field between them, Anton was not worried about them anymore since he could now return home immediately.
During dinner, Anton announced to the family that Ormunda would create an army that would join the armies from New Drennor and Mendoza. The force would intercept the undead horde that was currently on the way to New Drennor. He then assured everyone that he would be safe since he had powerful spells that allowed him to escape any dangerous situation.
The announcement did frighten Luna and Alfred, and Anton kept reassuring them that he was powerful enough to keep himself safe. He then announced to everyone that he had reached the Supreme Rank, mostly to alleviate Luna and Alfred’s fears. At first, he did not intend to share that information, but given the situation, he thought that it was best for the manor to be aware that it was supported by an extremely young Supreme Wizard.
Everyone looked excited and proud when they heard that Anton had reached the Supreme Wizard rank. Luna and Alfred then requested the next episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which made Anton think that the kids would be okay since they were calm enough to focus on watching cartoons.
Once dinner was over, Anton was still full of energy, so he returned to leveling up his ladder Sorceress character until around one in the morning, then he slept. His ladder sorceress reached level 90, and Anton was sure that he would reach the maximum level for the sorceress before he joined the army the next day.
When morning arrived, Anton woke up early even though he had slept late. He only needed a very short time to sleep because of the Pearl of the Ocean. He briefly wondered how his ocean friends were doing.
He cast Mana Rain to cover the whole manor, and as expected, Raymond arrived after a few minutes with his breakfast.
“The whole manor’s going to miss your mana rain. Whenever you cast it, everyone in the manor, including the family members, goes outside to shower in the rain. Everyone was now aware of the benefits one would receive in bathing under your mana rain. We’re becoming much healthier, starting to look younger, our hair’s becoming more luxurious, and our skin is smoothens. A lot of people were starting to notice and inquired about it, and the people from the manor just told outsiders that it was the benefit of eating fruits from our orchard and smelling the flowers from our garden. They all believe us since there were benefits in consuming products from our fields,” Raymond told Anton.
Anton just rolled his eyes.
“More than likely, just like before, I will probably be returning home every two days or so. Because of my ability to create a personal portal, I can now return home immediately, so that means that the mana rain would not stop.”
Raymond smiled when the butler heard what Anton had said. Even if it was not going to be every two days as he had said, because there was a chance that he would be extremely busy dealing with the undead, there was still a chance that it would be several times a month.
After breakfast, Anton returned to levelling up his ladder Sorceress character since he wanted to reach the character’s maximum level before he joined the army the next day. He didn’t even join the family for lunch and just asked Raymond for the food to be brought to him. He also gave the next copies of the Avatar: The Last Airbender to the butler to be given to Luna and Alfred.
Anton only spent a few minutes eating and focused on his Diablo II system again. By the time the sun had set, he had successfully reached level 99 for the last ladder Sorceress that he could level up for the current season. He immediately transferred the Spirit Shield that he had already prepared.
He joined the family for dinner and told everyone that he would be leaving the next day. Everyone still looked worried for him, so Anton spent the rest of the dinner reassuring the family that he was powerful enough to keep himself safe.
After dinner, instead of entering his Diablo II system to level up a new character, Anton spent the time relaxing. He knew that he would be busy while he was with the army, traveling to meet the undead horde. He watched a fun movie, and when he felt sleepy, he rested. When morning arrived, he said goodbye to the family and left for the west gate.
