Chapter 682

Anton had fun in the huge magic shop, browsing the magical items one could purchase. Unfortunately, the communication magical devices were not that much better than the spell that he was now able to cast. There were also a lot of limitations. Most of them came in pairs and could only communicate with their half, and all of them were not able to penetrate dungeons, which was a given since dungeons were independent realms or dimensions. Another major flaw was that he could not keep them in his inventory since the items would not be able to communicate with each other if they were inside spatial items.

He decided to hold off on purchasing any of them and would talk to his father instead about whether they needed to purchase such items. At that moment, their way of communicating, which was limited, was enough for them. The best tool at his disposal was his town portal scroll, since it allowed him to return home, and Anders would be able to talk to him whenever he was home. Anna would send a letter home if she needed to communicate with either of their father or to Anton.

At that moment, Anton still had around 600,000 gold coins and 6 high-level mana stones in his inventory. It was still a lot, so he decided to purchase more support spells. Thankfully, he still had the list of spells that he had already purchased, which was given to him by the salesperson from New Drennor.

He gave the list to the salesperson attending to him and told the man that he planned to purchase all of the support spells available in their shop that were not on the list, regardless of level. Anton’s statement excited the salesman, who disappeared immediately. After a few seconds, the man returned, accompanied by a couple of wizards.

The wizards introduced themselves as managers of the magic shop. The reason they came was to know what budget he had. To avoid confusion, Anton stated that he could spend as much as 500,000 gold coins. He reiterated that they should not include any spells on the list he gave the salesperson.

The two managers became ecstatic and left. The salesman left to entertain Anton. He was promptly served tea and pastries. After an hour, three men arrived carrying hundreds of spellbooks.

The manager assured him that there were no repeats and that the total was exactly 500,000 gold coins. Anton did not bother to check the spellbooks and store them all in his inventory. After he paid the manager, the wizard gave him a booklet that contained all the spells that they sold him, including the descriptions of the spells.

Anton left the magic stored and returned to the Rose Manor. With 100,000 gold coins left in his inventory, he felt poor. He decided that once he made his rank official, he would delve into the high-level dungeon to earn some spending coins. He did not want to touch the wealth inside the treasure room. He did not even know how much wealth it had. Before he arrived at the Rose Manor, he felt that his mini globes of browser sharing that contained the first three movies of the Star Wars franchise were destroyed, which meant that Romina’s employees had finished recording the movies in magic item recorders.

Anton decided to return to the cinema to give the next three to Romina. Before he arrived, he sent a communication spell to the woman, so she was waiting already. Anton did not bother exiting his carriage and simply handed three more mini globes of browser sharing that contained the next three movies of the Star Wars franchise.

Stolen novel; please report.

It was noon when he arrived at the Rose Manor. He went to the dining room and was surprised to see Luna and Alfred there. Kirk, Mesono, Abdul, and Omar were also present.

“Anton, can you give us the next three episodes of Avatar?” Alfred asked while they were waiting for their lunch to be served.

“The three globes are currently occupied by movies that are being recorded by Romina’s people, so later, when she’s done,” Anton replied.

“We started watching some of the movies that the siblings had in their collections! They were very good!” Abdul excitedly said.

Kirk suddenly looked nervous and glared at Abdul.

“You don’t need to worry, Anton. We just spend a couple of hours each week watching movies. The rest were spent in making sure that our rank increases,” Kirk nervously said.

“That’s good then. My sister is just 13 years old, and she will reach the archmage rank soon,” Anton said.

The food finally arrived, and they started eating.

“By the way, why are you here? I thought you should be at school?” Anton asked Luna and Alfred.

“There’s no school today,” Luna simply said.

The group then talked about a lot of things, from movies to television shows they had already seen. Kirk and the others talked about the progress that they had achieved. They thanked Anton for the resources that they had been receiving ever since they arrived at the manor.

Abdul specifically thanked Anton for their one-day rest day and the coin allowance. They spent those outside the manor shopping for things.

“Are you not going to send coins to your family?” Anton curiously asked.

“Probably in a few months. They’re not expecting that we would, since you’ve already given them coins. They’re probably thought of us as dead already,” Kirk said with a straightforward expression, and Anton saw that Mesono, Omar, and Abdul agreed with him.

After lunch, Anton went to his room to waste his time there. He first cast the Blizzard spell, turned it into Mana Rain, into the whole manor. Thankfully, the manor just greedily absorbed the mana water; otherwise, the manor would have been flooded by now.

Anton then spent the next two hours inside his Diablo II system battling Uber bosses to hunt for more powerful items.

Suddenly, a red notification appeared on his screen. He immediately left the game that he was playing and opened the notification.

“Major Update: In three weeks, at the start of the Diablo II ladder season, you will be able to play Diablo Immortal! You will be able to use the skills and spells of the characters that you will level up in the said game. The option of the items specific to Diablo Immortal will only apply to the skills and spells of the characters of the said game, but the stats of the items, including weapons, armors, and accessories, and skills not applied to specific abilities of characters, will be applied to the customer and will stack on the customer’s current items. Thank you for being one of our best customers.”

After that, a timer appeared in the upper left corner of his sight, which was basically the timer for when the game would be released.

Anton was confused and excited. First, he was excited because his Diablo II system’s name was changed from “Diablo II” system to “The Diablo” system. That change was a major one because it meant his system would likely allow him to play all the games in the Diablo franchise. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

That was truly a major update. He knew a little about Diablo Immortal or any of the other Diablo games, for that matter. His smartphone was so low-end that it couldn't play graphically intensive games, and Diablo Immortal was one of them. His laptop was so low-end that it could not run games like Diablo III and Diablo IV, and he did not bother with Diablo I, since during that time, he had so little time outside of work that he could only focus on one game, and Diablo II was it. He then wondered why his system chose Diablo Immortal instead of the other games in the franchise, like Diablo I, Diablo III, or Diablo IV.

Anton was also a little confused because his system called him a “customer”. What does it mean? He tried asking his system using his browser, but he received no response, so just like with anything with his system that he did not have an answer to, he just shrugged and accepted it.
