Chapter 705

Deep inside the forest, Anton realized that the foliage was getting thicker, and it was becoming harder to move forward. It was almost a jungle. The obstacles on the ground were getting bigger and more complicated. Of course, it was still not difficult for Anton. As a matter of fact, it made the journey more enjoyable for him.

His physical stats were enough that climbing up a hill or climbing up trees to bypass an obstacle was simple for him. Even his two summoned Spirit Wolves did not have any difficulty traversing the complex undertow.

Because he was deep inside the forest, Anton would almost always see pockets of wonders that could only be seen in a world of magic and isolated from people.

Anton saw a community of earth elementals beneath some fallen trees. They looked like tree branches that suddenly grew into living beings. They looked extremely familiar, and after thinking deeply, he remembered seeing some video clips from the movie Guardians of the Galaxy. In that clip, the character Groot was very cute, and the Earth Elementals looked like that creature.

The Groot-like beings noticed him, and surprisingly, they were not afraid of Anton and his two summoned spirit wolves. They just looked at him curiously, and after a while, continued to whatever they were doing.

Anton observed them for almost an hour. They were all busy collecting nuts, berries, and fruits, and thought that they were probably the elementals’ food. They were also busy fixing and constructing some sort of structure made of plants and tree branches, and Anton thought that the structures were probably their houses.

While looking at the innocent-looking Earth Elementals, they were so cute that Anton had the urge to capture one and rear it as a pet companion, but he decided to stop himself. He did not want the Earth Elementals to suffer, and more than likely, taking one of them would make its family suffer. He did not even know if the Earth Elemental would survive away from its home environment or away from its family. He would be devastated if he did capture one and it died suddenly from isolation from its family.

After an hour of observing the Earth Elementals, Anton dispelled his two spirit wolves and decided to stay longer to keep watching the funny-looking beings. It was incredibly enjoyable watching them work, play, and do their thing, and the fact that they just ignored him was part of his enjoyment.

Anton suddenly heard some noise and saw that a goblin had arrived and started attacking the Earth Elementals. He stood up, intending to kill the goblin, but stopped himself when a couple of the Earth Elementals faced the goblins. The Groot-like beings transformed their hands into sharp and pointy tentacles made of wood and impaled the goblins. Once the goblin was dead, the two Elementals used their elongated hands to drag the goblin corpse away.

Anton realized that the Earth Elementals were fully capable of defending themselves from any dangers that came from the forest. He should have realized that they have that capability, or else they would not have been living and thriving in this place.

After the goblin event, the lives of the Groots returned to normal, which was them collecting their food and fixing their house. After a while, some little ones came out of their houses and started playing with each other. Looking at the Groots playing, Anton was highly amused. He could keep watching them forever. There was a quality in their day-to-day activities that would relax those who watched them.

He decided to start recording them using his globe of browser sharing. Once, a stag stumbled into their place, and the Earth Elementals Anton was now calling the Groots, ignored it, much like how they ignored him. After a few more instances of herbivores stumbling into their territory, Anton realized that the Groots were just basically treating him as one large and clumsy herbivore.

Anton kept watching and recording the Groots since he was truly enjoying watching them, until the sun set. After that, he went further away from the territory of the Earth Elementals since he did not want to bother them and retrieve his tiny house. He summoned a raven to guard his sleep.

Inside his house, Anton rewatched a few segments of his recording of the Earth Elementals, and even through the video, the life of the Groots was incredibly relaxing to watch. He planned to show this video to his family once he returned home.

Anton knew that the temperature outside his tiny house was low, and it would have been extremely uncomfortable sleeping using a sleeping bag, but with his tiny house warmed by his Fire Wall Stove, he felt comfortable. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

He spent the next several hours leveling up his Wizard character from Diablo Immortal and his ladder Necromancer from Diablo II, and only stopped when he felt sleepy, which was already the wee hours of the morning.

Anton still woke up early the next day, and after cleaning up and storing everything in his inventory, continued with his journey. He did not even return to watch the Groots anymore, since he really did not want to disturb their lives. Once he was a little farther away from the Earth Elementals, he dispelled his Raven and summoned two Spirit Wolves as his bodyguards.

Because of how deep he was inside the forest, there were instances when the way was truly blocked by an impassable obstacle, like fallen trees and boulders. When that happens, Anton would dispel his summons, fly past the obstacle, and just summon his two spirit wolves again.

There were even some instances that he would have to fly for a long time before he could bypass an obstacle, but whenever there was a chance he could walk, he would do so, since the action of walking through the forest was an enjoyable part of his travel.

While walking, he also encountered two Owl Bears. He would have liked to just go past them, but they were extremely ferocious and attacked him immediately. When he ran off, they followed him, and when he flew, they kept following him. They were relentless and did not want to let him go. The problem was, they also killed any creature they stumbled into while following him, so in the end, Anton decided to just dispatch the Owl Bears.

Anton flew down, summoned his Dire Bear, five Dire Wolves, and five Spirit Wolves, and commanded his summons to destroy the two Owl Bears. In less than a couple of minutes, Anton’s summons killed the two Owl Bears. He sighed. He would have liked to let them and let them live their lives inside the forest, but they just can’t let him go. He did not even bother them.

He continued following his compass to the north, but again, Anton was taking his time and not rushing off.

Deep inside the forest, Anton felt that he was now truly in an alien world, very far from civilization, and he was loving every minute of it.

While walking, Anton stumbled into a miniature town placed up above the trees. He would not have noticed them if no lights were coming from the beautiful little houses. After a couple of minutes of observing the miniature town, a group of little flying men and women flew down to confront him. Based on their appearance, they looked like pixies.

The pixies looked like they were wearing complete armor. If they were regular size, Anton would have said that their armor was probably made of leather, but since they were so small, around five or six inches, he didn’t know the materials from which their armors were made. All of them were carrying sticks which looked like spears in their hands.
