My Favorite Game Followed Me!-Chapter 713
Chapter 713
“How are you able to walk on top of the snow without sinking? Is it because of your weight?” Anton asked Terun after observing them walking on the snow as if he and his family were simply walking on top of the forest ground.
“Partly, but mostly because of our racial abilities. Remember when I told you earlier that Brownies are connected to the land? That our primary magic are earth and plants? The forest is simply helping us navigate inside the forest, whatever terrain it currently has,” Terun said.
Anton was following the Brownie family by levitating beside them using his Telekinesis spell. Even though the Brownie kids were walking on top of the snow smoothly, they still looked enviously at Anton’s effortless floating beside them. Since the brownie family was expert rangers inside the forest, Anton did not summon his spirit wolves and just followed along with Terun and his family.
“I remember reading something along the lines of forest elves having that ability. Is that the same thing?” Anton asked, but did not mention that the information he was talking about came from fantasy novels.
“It’s the same thing, but forest elves are more agile simply because of their build. Besides, they are true combat specialist while the Brownie folks are supporters and nurturers,” Glenda said in place of her husband.
“Can you fly without stopping?” One of Terun’s children asked, and Anton nodded.
“Can you teach us that spell?” The second kid asked.
“The spell I’m using is basically a unique magic that allows me to control things with my mind. It cannot be taught, but I knew that similar spells are available. Let me look in my library,” Anton said, and spent the next several minutes looking for similar spellbooks in his collection of spellbooks.
Anton found a couple of spellbooks called Mage Hand and Telekinesis. Mage Hand would allow the caster to summon invisible hands. It was a low-level spell and was severely limited in terms of the weight the mage could control. Telekinesis was a higher-level spell, and he doubted that the kids could learn it. It was more powerful than Mage Hand, but still could not compare to his own Telekinesis due to the fact that it had limited time, distance, and weight.
He looked for alternatives and found the spellbooks for Levitation and Fly. At least the description and capabilities of the spell were listed on the spellbooks’ introduction pages. Still, he offered the four spellbooks to Terun’s kids.
The brownie kids happily accepted them, but their mother scolded them and told them to return the spellbooks to Anton. They did, and Anton simply accepted the spellbooks and stored them in his inventory.
The brownie kids pouted, but Glenda just glared at them. Anton could understand Terun’s wife's concern. Spellbooks were very expensive, and even if Anton was offering them for free, a regular person could not accept something like that, since there would be an unspoken obligation that came with something so expensive, even if Anton did not have that intention.

Terun whispered to Anton that his kids would not have the ability to memorize such spells because of their age. If they truly wanted to become mages and memorize spells, it would take years before they would have the ability to memorize even the lowest of them, which was the Mage Hand spell.
“Besides, we have equivalent magic that they could cast effortlessly within the forest,” Terun admitted.
Anton liked the fact that the Brownies' philosophy was to avoid any dangers that they encountered in the forest, and they were true experts in that. It was amusing for Anton to suddenly avoid the path ahead because Terun detected a couple of goblins ahead. He just followed along, and Terun and his wife seemed to appreciate the fact that Anton was not bloodthirsty to want to kill the monsters they encountered.
“Actually, I’ve been wondering why I haven’t smelled blood from you. A normal traveler would have that smell since it was impossible to travel inside the forest without killing small monsters or normal animals for food. It’s like you’re one of those extreme elves who don’t eat meat,” Terun said.
“Ever since I started traveling inside the forest, I haven’t killed anything personally. My summons handles the small monsters we encounter along the way. I didn’t even pick any fruits or plants since I didn’t know which was which. I simply don’t want to get poisoned due to my lack of knowledge,” Anton told Terun, who simply smiled.
Before the sun set, they finally arrived at the place where Terun and his family planned to relocate. Four brownies were waiting for them in what Anton assumed was the entrance to their village. One of the brownies was very old, and Anton could detect powerful magic from the old brownie. Anton thought that the old brownie could be a powerful wizard who could be the leader and protector of their village.
Terun approached the four brownies and spoke to them in a language Anton could not understand. He realized then that the Brownie folks had their own language. After a few minutes of conversation with Terun, Anton was surprised that the four brownies finally smiled and welcomed Anton.
He asked Glenda what had changed.
“Terun told them that you’ve allowed us to stay in your traveling mage house to avoid the blizzard, fed us, and entertained us by allowing us to watch a story through your window in another dimension. It implied that you’re a powerful and kind-hearted mage.”
Anton laughed when he heard that. When they entered the village, Anton was fascinated by the houses that the Brownie had made. Every house was attached to a tree, and most of them were as big as Anton’s tiny house, which was currently stored in his inventory. On second look, the houses were not a single-unit like Anton’s tiny house, but had several rooms that surrounded a large tree. Each one of the houses looked like it sprouted from the ground instead of having been built by hand, but Terun told him that they were not grown but built. It just looked like they had grown.
According to Terun, during other seasons, the houses would be surrounded by beautiful flowers, but right now, everything was covered in snow, and the Brownie made an effort to sweep off the snow from their roofs.
The tiny houses looked homey with their tiny chimneys emitting smoke. They reached the house that Terun had purchased for his family. Terun proudly described his house to Anton. It had five rooms. One living room, a kitchen, a toilet, and the rest were bedrooms. They offered one of the bedrooms to Anton as their guest for however long he wanted to stay.
At first, Anton thought that the houses would feel small and cramped like his tiny house, but there was a sense of roominess that he could not understand how it was achieved. At first, the house was empty, but Terun and his family because extremely busy arranging the things they had brought and stored using their storage magic. Soon, Terun’s house was full of the things that an ordinary house was supposed to have, but Glenda was still complaining about the things they needed to purchase to complete the furnishing.
Anton accepted Terun’s invitation to stay at their house. He planned to stay with the Brownie families in the village for a couple of days. He wanted to observe the brownies and their day-to-day living situation.
