My five ghostly husbands-Chapter 213 Secrets
Chapter 213: Chapter 213 Secrets
"Do you remember our childhood days?" he finally asked, his brown eyes glimmering. "When you and I were small, small? We used to play house-house together in the backyard. You used to be my wife, and I used to be your husband."
He grinned, his cheeks dimpling slightly.
Ruby stared at him for a moment, and suddenly, a memory flashed in her mind.
A small boy, no older than five, with soft brown eyes and a deep pout, giggling as he clung to a girl with long white hair and striking red eyes.
They were playing under the large tree, laughing as they held hands.
The little girl had thrown her arms around him from the side, hugging him tightly, giggling in delight.
She had called him ’husband’.
And he had called her ’wife’. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
A wave of nostalgia crashed over Ruby, the memory so clear, so pure that it left her momentarily speechless.
Milo, watching her expression change, grinned even wider.
"You remember, don’t you?" he asked, a little giggle escaping his lips.
Ruby slowly nodded, still trying to process the memory that had just appeared.
"I... think I do," she admitted.
Milo sighed happily, his face full of contentment. "I always said I would marry you one day," he murmured. "I just never imagined it would actually happen."
Ruby just smiled softly, brushing her fingers through Milo’s soft brown hair, feeling the silky strands slip between her fingers. His warmth was comforting, familiar.
"You’re happy?" she asked, her voice gentle.
"Very," he replied without hesitation, his brown eyes sparkling with contentment.
She rubbed his head affectionately before whispering, "Sleep."
Milo nodded sleepily, his eyes fluttering shut. But before he drifted off, a small pout formed on his lips. He remembered how he had tried to sleep with her before but ended up on the sofa because his wife had locked the door, and his brother Adi was also asleep.
Still pouting, he mumbled something incoherent and fell asleep, his hand clutching hers.
Ruby sighed, a small chuckle escaping her lips as she gently pried his fingers off her hand. Climbing out of bed carefully, she padded across the room and turned off the lights.
Just as she was about to return to bed, a soft knock echoed against the door.
Frowning, she went to open it, only to be immediately pulled outside.
Before she could even react, a hand covered her mouth as Karl dragged her into the dimly lit living room.
The glow from the kitchen light cast long shadows across the walls, flickering faintly as Karl stood in front of her, arms folded, a deep pout on his lips.
"I’m angry!" he declared, his blue eyes gleaming in the low light.
Ruby blinked at him, feeling slightly thrown off. "Why?" she asked, trying to make sense of his sudden mood shift.
Karl’s lips pressed into a thin line before he huffed dramatically. "You’re sleeping with Milo!"
Ruby rolled her eyes, feeling slightly scummy for how that sounded. "He’s my husband too," she pointed out, though something about saying it out loud felt strange.
Karl’s pout deepened, his frustration clearly not soothed by her words. Without another word, he grabbed her by the waist, yanking her close before sinking his teeth into her bottom lip.
Ruby gasped, her eyes widening.
"Karl!" she hissed, pulling back as she glared at him.
Karl licked his lips, looking far too smug as he smirked. "You’re bad," he muttered.
Then, before she could even react, he turned on his heel and ran.
Ruby barely had time to process his escape before he kicked her leg on his way out, causing her to stumble.
She nearly lost her balance, her hand gripping the wall to steady herself just as Julian appeared from the hallway.
His sleepy green eyes widened in shock as he took in the scene. "Are you okay, wife??" he asked quickly, his voice full of concern.
Ruby sighed, rubbing her leg. "I’m fine, Julian... You know how he is. He’s like a child."
Julian still looked concerned, his brows furrowing slightly. "I’m sorry he kicked you," he muttered apologetically. "You know how Karl gets."
Ruby offered him a small smile. "It’s alright. I knew what I was getting into with him."
Julian exhaled softly, finally relaxing, but just as he was about to say something else, his gaze suddenly locked onto her lips.
His expression shifted, his frown deepening as he took a step closer. "Wife... what happened to your lips?"
Ruby stiffened.
Julian leaned in slightly, his face close, his moss-green eyes narrowing as he tried to see more clearly in the dim lighting.
Because of the darkness, he wasn’t able to see clearly from afar, so he leaned in closer, his breath brushing against her skin as he carefully inspected her swollen lips.
Ruby could feel her heart skip a beat.
She should step back.
She should say something.
But for some reason, she just stood there, frozen, as Julian’s face hovered inches from hers.
Adrian stepped into the hallway, rubbing his neck as he lazily walked toward the kitchen, but the moment his eyes landed on Ruby and Julian, his steps came to a halt.
His dark eyes widened slightly as he took in the sight before him...Julian standing inches away from Ruby, his gaze fixed on her lips, his expression filled with quiet concern.
From the outside, it looked intimate.
Too close.
Too familiar.
Adrian had suspected for a while now that Julian and Ruby had accepted their relationship as husband and wife, but seeing it with his own eyes...? That was another thing entirely.
And yet he wasn’t shocked.
Not really.
He had seen the way Julian looked at Ruby, the way his usually composed self became something else entirely when she was around.
But the only person who seemed to have no idea about any of this was Karl.
How would Karl react once he found out that Ruby and Julian had already consummated their marriage... and kept it a secret?
Adrian’s lips pressed into a thin line.
Karl was childish, dramatic, but his emotions ran deep. If he found out Ruby and Julian had already been intimate, there was no telling how he would react.
But little did Adrian know—Karl was also keeping his own secrets.
Because while Adrian worried about Karl feeling left out, Karl was actually the one developing his own secret relationship with Ruby.
