My five ghostly husbands-Chapter 212 Can I sleep with you, wife?
Chapter 212: Chapter 212 Can I sleep with you, wife?
"It bit you really badly, Brother Karl!" Julian sighed, his concern only growing. "What if it was a dangerous mosquito? I heard some diseases can spread from mosquito bites!"
Karl stiffened. "I-It’s fine! I—"
"I think we should go to a healer tomorrow," Julian interrupted, his eyes full of serious worry.
Karl opened his mouth to protest, but before he could, Ruby stepped in.
She turned toward Julian and gently took his hands in hers, her fingers squeezing lightly to reassure him.
"Jules," she said softly, looking up at him with a small smile. "It’s alright. Nothing happened to him. He’s perfectly fine."
Julian’s tense shoulders visibly relaxed, his worried expression easing slightly.
"If you say so..." he mumbled, still not fully convinced but trusting Ruby’s words.
Karl, who had been silent through this exchange, suddenly noticed their joined hands.
His baby blue eyes flickered downward, locking onto their fingers intertwined so naturally.
A strange feeling appear into his chest, something he couldn’t quite name.
His lips pressed into a thin line.
Karl didn’t know what he was feeling...the strange tightness in his chest, the way his eyes stayed on their joined hands, the way something unsettled twisted inside him.
So, he did what felt right in that moment.
Without hesitation, he reached out and gently pulled Ruby’s hands away from Julian’s.
Then, instead of letting go, he grabbed Julian’s hands in his own.
"It’s alright, Juli!" Karl said with a bright, almost exaggerated smile, squeezing Julian’s hands as if nothing was wrong. "I’m perfectly fine! So don’t worry too much, okay?"
Julian blinked, a little caught off guard by Karl’s sudden change in behavior.
Karl didn’t give him a chance to think too much about it, though. He linked their arms and tugged him forward, pulling him toward the kitchen.
"Now, hurry up and give me your handmade food! I can’t digest outside food well," Karl declared dramatically, his voice was playfull.
Julian, still mildly confused but unable to resist Karl’s whining, sighed and nodded. "Alright, alright... I’ll make you something."
Karl grinned but didn’t let go of his hand.
Ruby stood behind them, watching the entire scene unfold, her brows slightly raised.
She wasn’t sure if she should laugh at Karl’s antics or wonder why he had reacted like that in the first place.
But either way...
Something had definitely changed.
Ruby sighed as she watched Karl pull Julian toward the kitchen.
At this point, she should probably stop even thinking about divorce.
Judging from the recent situation, it was clear...divorce wasn’t happening anytime soon.
Not that she was entirely against the idea of staying.
But She still firmly believed that they needed to be educated and independent, but she had also started realizing something else.
They weren’t just people she had married for convenience.
They were her people now.
Karl, despite his lazy nature, had natural charisma, something that couldn’t be ignored. The way he had performed at the shop, drawing attention without effort, had convinced her that he had the potential to be an actor or a model.
Maybe she should ask Director Sylvia if she needed someone for a role.
Adrian, on the other hand, was already becoming independent, working and slowly finding his own footing in life. That was a relief.
But now, her biggest concerns were Julian and Milo.
Julian was a steady presence, Kind, Gentle, reliable and hardworking, but... she still hadn’t figured out what he was particularly skilled at, apart from cooking.
Cooking was good, but was it his passion? His true strength?
She wasn’t sure.
But she felt something inside her whispering...Julian had a hidden skill too, just like Karl.
She just needed time to discover it.
Then there was Milo.
Milo was different. He was pure, almost too innocent for this world.
He saw things exactly as they appeared, never questioning the deeper intentions behind people’s actions.
He had seen hardships too, but unlike others, he hadn’t let them change him.
He was still soft, still warm, still kind.
He could find good in the worst of things.
And in this world, that kind of innocence was both a gift and a curse.
Ruby sighed again, rubbing her forehead.
She had a lot of work to do.
Not just for herself, but for them.
Because if there was one thing
She would make sure each of them found their own path, their own success.
And once that happened, once they were strong enough to stand on their own—
She would see what her future with them truly meant.

Ruby took a fresh shower after dinner, feeling the tension of the day melt away. Her skin was warm from the water, and a sense of relaxation settled over her as she wrapped herself in a light robe.
As she stepped inside her room, she stopped mid-step, her eyes widening in surprise. freewebnøvel_com
Milo was sitting on her bed, hugging a pillow, his body curled up as he looked at her with large brown eyes. His soft brown hair fell messily onto his fair forehead, and his pouty pink lips pushed out slightly, making him look adorably sulky.
Ruby blinked. "Milo?" Her voice held a note of surprise.
Milo lifted his gaze to her, blinking sleepily. "Can I sleep with you, wife?" he asked, his voice soft, filled with innocence.
Ruby hesitated for a brief second.
It wasn’t that she minded, but... why was she suddenly feeling hesitant?
She exhaled deeply, shaking off the thought.
There was nothing wrong with this. Nothing at all.
A small smile played on her lips as she nodded. "Um... of course."
Milo’s face lit up instantly. "Thank you, wife!"
He quickly laid down, making himself comfortable, then patted the empty space beside him eagerly.
Ruby chuckled softly before climbing onto the bed. The mattress dipped slightly under their weight, the warmth of the blankets cocooning them in a quiet comfort.
Milo turned onto his side, resting his hands under his cheek as he looked at her.
"Wife?" he whispered.
Ruby turned her head slightly. "Hmm?"
Milo sighed, his lips curving into a small smile.
"Wife..." he muttered again, his voice softer this time.
Ruby hummed in response, waiting for him to continue.
"Do you remember our childhood days?" he finally asked, his brown eyes glimmering. "When you and I were small, small? We used to play house-house together in the backyard. You used to be my wife, and I used to be your husband."
He grinned, his cheeks dimpling slightly.
