Chapter 221: Chapter 221 Renovation (2)

Annie tilted her head slightly, impressed by how prepared and serious Ruby sounded. "Alright. I have my computer in my office. You can explain to me what custom changes you want. I’ll start the blueprint tonight so the team can begin work tomorrow morning."

She paused, then asked with a raised brow, "You’re not in a hurry right now, are you?"

Ruby shook her head with a small smile tugging at her lips. "No, I’m not busy. Let’s get started."

Annie gave a small smile and nodded. "Perfect. Then follow me to my office," she said as she stood up.

Ruby adjusted the hem of her robe and followed Annie through another hallway. The soft thud of their footsteps echoed quietly against the floor. The scent of old woods and herb...slowly faded as they entered a smaller, more modern space..this was clearly Annie’s working corner. A wooden desk stood against the wall, a slim lamp glowing softly beside computer.

Annie pulled out a chair for her, and Ruby sat down, brushing a few strands of hair behind her ear.

"So, tell me, Miss Ruby," Annie said as she opened a fresh layout on the screen. "How do you imagine your office?"

Ruby leaned forward, eyes lighting up with ideas.

"I want the front entrance to be clean and spacious," she began. "White walls, soft gold trims. I don’t want it to look intimidating or dull, more like something welcoming..."

"Alright," Annie said as she typed quickly. "And the workspace itself?"

"There will be three sections inside," Ruby continued with confidence. "One area for stitching and designing—that needs good lighting, shelves for fabric, work tables... The second area for meetings and clients, with a nice sitting setup. And third, a small storage room. I don’t want too many cabinets outside. I prefer it looking neat."

Annie nodded, looking impressed now. "Any colors you have in mind?"

Ruby thought for a second. "Cream white for walls. Maybe hints of dusty pink in the décor—curtains or vases. And pale gold on handles or trimming lines. Wood for the floor, but light-toned wood, not the deep brown ones. Something bright, breathable."

"Hmm. We can arrange that," Annie said, her fingers moving quickly across the keyboard.

"And there’s one more thing," Ruby added with a little smile, her eyes gleaming. "I want a nameplate near the door. A golden one. It should say ’ORA’ in clean bold letters."

"ORA," Annie repeated, nodding. "Understood."

Nostalgia flashed softly in Ruby’s eyes the moment she caught a glimpse of the screen. The simple layout of AutoCAD, though slightly outdated, stirred memories from her old life—where digital blueprints, pixel-perfect lines, and hours spent tweaking layouts were just another part of her routine.

She had once used versions far more complex, surrounded by multiple monitors, detailed command shortcuts, and modern design interfaces. This one looked like a baby version in comparison, and the sight made her lips curve ever so slightly.

Before she could say anything, Annie unknowingly clicked it away and opened a plain notepad instead. "Let’s keep it basic for now," Annie said, not noticing Ruby’s subtle expression as she clicked her keyboard, "You can just tell me your requirements one by one. I’ll note everything and later transfer it to our actual planning software."

Ruby nodded, folding her arms gently on the table as she leaned forward, her eyes thoughtful. "Alright... I want the front area of the building to have a soft open feel. Big entrance, warm tones, wooden flooring... not dark wood though. Something light, something that feels alive."

Annie started typing quickly, listening carefully.

"I’ll also need two separate working zones. One for sewing workstations, and the other for fabric cutting and embroidery setup. A smaller storage room with proper ventilation. And a private office space for me..clean, quiet, and minimal, but with space for vision boards and shelves."

"Got it," Annie muttered, her fingers tapping rapidly.

"And," Ruby added, her tone firm but soft, "I want a small resting area too. Something simple but cozy for the team when they need to take a break."

Annie glanced at her with a short smile. "You’ve thought of everything."

Ruby’s gaze drifted to the screen for a second again, then looked out the nearby glass panel where the moonlight touched a dusty vase. "I didn’t come this far to take lazy steps."

And that was true. Every little detail was a stitch in her dream and now that she’d finally found her thread, she was going to sew it into something unforgettable.

"I understand, but I would like to see that place in person before we finalise the design flow," Annie said, closing the notepad software gently as she looked at Ruby.

"Sure," Ruby replied with a calm nod, standing up from the chair.

Annie also stood up and gave a short smile. "It’ll help me visualise the space better. I’ll bring my notebook and take a few measurements too. When would be a good time?"

"Today, if you’re free," Ruby answered, her red eyes calm and clear. "I’m heading there after this anyway. It’s better to look at the place when the ideas are fresh."

"Alright then," Annie said.

"Milo! You’re so sweeeeet," Karl said dramatically as he clung onto Milo’s arms like a lifeline.

"Go away, Brother Karl!!" Milo whined, trying to push him off. "You’re so annoying today!"

"No away... I am not going away," Karl said, shaking his head with big puppy eyes. "Please, please save me from my evil wife today... she’s going to roast me like a sweet potato for not finishing my homework!" ƒгeewёbnovel.com

His baby blue eyes blinked rapidly, turning watery within seconds, and Milo bit his lips the moment he saw tears. Karl’s face looked so pitiful that even Milo’s heart melted without knowing when. Seeing his plan working, Karl was overjoyed inside, but he didn’t show it—he let fat teardrops roll down his cheeks like a tragic hero. "Milo... I-I’m feeling so scared," he sniffled, wiping his tears dramatically, which somehow made them flow even more. "I know I’m stupid because I can’t remember anything... not even how to spell ’garden’ and it’s breaking my heart..."

"B–Brother Karl, d-don’t cry!" Milo panicked, flapping his hands helplessly. "Please! I didn’t mean to be rude... please don’t cry like this!"

"I can’t help it..." Karl said with a sniff, holding Milo’s arm tighter like a child begging for protection. "Fifteen words, Milo! She gave me fifteen whole words! Do you know how many that is?"

"Um... fifteen?" Milo blinked innocently.
