The moment Brown’s words entered his ears, Jin took action.

His hand zapped towards the handgun and started dismantling it.

Not even five seconds had properly elapsed when Jin had successfully finished it and had started assembling the gun once again.

Brown’s eyes widened in surprise as he looked at the stopwatch and then back at Jin.

’Was he always so fast?’ In the class, he had made them do this as well, but their Jin wasn’t as proficient with the task as he was today.

’Even I’m not confident in being able to disassemble and assemble a handgun in just ten seconds,’ Brown thought as he saw Jin moving out with his assembled gun towards the shooting lane marked 1.

Without waiting to confirm the hit, Jin started walking back towards the next gun.

It was an assault rifle: AR-15

Brown noted down the bullseye in his mind and then focused back on Jin, who had picked up the AR-15.

’Even I would take 15 seconds to disassemble this one, so he shouldn’t be able to surpass this. He must be more familiar with Barretta, so it could be a fluke,’ Brown thought and focused on Jin’s actions.

He was right. Jin took exactly fifteen seconds.

"This..." Brown muttered under his breath. In just fifteen seconds, not only did Jin disassemble the gun, but he also reassembled it!

Under Brown’s bewildered gaze, Jin made his way towards the second lane and shot at the target.

Bang!

The burst woke Brown up from his stupor, and he noted the second bullseye.

However, that was not the end of it. From one gun to the next. Each time, Jin exceeded Brown’s expectations and completed the assembling and disassembling in record time.

At times, he even created a new record!

’Incredible...’ Brown’s thought in excitement as he saw Jin do what nobody else had done in the past.

The explosive sound from the M82 anti-material rifle shook the ground, and the bullet pierced the target more than a mile away.

Brown confirmed it with his binoculars and finally noted down Jin’s marks.

"So, how did I do?" Jin asked with a smirk as he returned to the camp with the heavy M82 on his back.

"...Perfect score. You’ve exceeded my expectations," Brown sighed while shaking his head.

Jin snickered at his reaction, and the next moment, his mission was completed. Seeing the 25,000 Kill points being added to his balance, a wide grin formed on his face.

"It’s too soon to say this," Jin chuckled and, under the confused gaze of Brown, continued, "I would like to take the concealment test."

Brown’s whole countenance turned serious the very next moment. This made Jin wary, and his senses got heightened.

Gulping down his saliva, he waited for Brown to speak.

Brown continued to stare at Jin with his deadpan expression, and just when Jin was on the verge of distancing himself from Brown, he opened his mouth.

"Come and help me with the lunch preparation."

"W-what?" Jin frowned at those unexpected words.

"Do you have anything else to do? It’s still not night yet for me to test your concealment skills. Therefore, you might as well help me,"

When Brown finished his words, he threw his car key towards Jin.

"Place those guns in the back and drive it back to the hut. I’ll be waiting for you there," With that said, Brown walked back towards his hut.

’Just what the hell is going through his mind?’ Jin stared at Brown’s back with a puzzled expression.

He then did what he was told and ten minutes later reached the hut.

"Let’s begin then," Brown was all ready with the ingredients and utensils.

Jin accompanied him behind the table and helped by chopping the vegetables which were handed to him.

Brown kept the flame in check and boiled the grains.

While at it, he occasionally talked to Jin from time to time.

"Think over your choice while you’re at it. If you choose to give another test and you end up failing it, then I’ll have no choice but to kill you," Brown muttered.

"I’ve already told you, even if my number of attempts for the next tests will reduce to one, I want to do it because I’m confident."

Jin answered. He was a bit irritated since Brown had been pestering him not to attempt the next or take a bigger gap before attempting it.

’Why should I wait when I’m confident in clearing it?’ Jin thought to himself.

"Such useless risks," Brown clicked his tongue and kept quiet after that.

When the white, slimy-like food was completed, Brown took out a small glass tube containing a yellow liquid and poured it into the food.

"You’re still making us eat poison?" Jin asked with a frown.

"Of course, I’ve continued to increase the dosage every thirteen days to get your body used to it. You didn’t feel anything unusual, did you?" Brown asked with a snicker.

"I did not," Jin answered, "To be honest, I don’t really understand. Why do you make us eat these weak poisons? It’s basically useless. It’s not like if someone wants to kill us, they will use these mild poisons on us,"

"Weak poison?" Brown asked in an amused manner.

The next moment, he dropped a small leftover drop in the tube on the sandy ground. Hot vapours formed on the ground as a small charred hole was formed.

Jin raised his eyebrows when he saw this.

"This is not the same poison you were ingesting in your first month here. A single drop is potent enough to kill ten men in twenty-four hours.

And I’ve been feeding you four a lot more than just a drop the last month. So, would you still say that it’s useless?"

Brown asked. He felt satisfied by the shock-filled expression that was plastered on Jin’s face.

"...I was wrong," Jin replied with a sigh. He had to admit that what Brown had done was quite admirable.

’So, my body could resist such strong poisons now...’ Jin thought with a hint of admiration.

"Don’t dawdle anymore. Go and call the other three, as it will be time for lunch soon,"

Brown’s words woke him up from his stupor as Jin went down to call Specy and Shadow.
