My Life In A Fantasy, Women-Dominated World-Chapter 125: Help... Or not?
"HELPPPP! PLEASE, HELP!"
Hearing the reply, everyone’s faces dropped.
It wasn’t a normal response in any way, as no human would answer "help please help" when he is being asked where he is.
The mood developed into unease as the Sanguini members huddled closer to the word magic woman, asking her if she had made any mistake and if it really was that gruesome and dangerous monster or an actual male that needed help.
Claire narrowed her eyes toward the entrance, countless thoughts swirling within her mind. "What does your word mage think?" she asked Vyra.
"She’s 99% sure it’s either a mimic or something similar." Vyra shook her head.
"What if it’s actually a guy in need?" Jaq questioned with a frown. "Are you really going to abandon a cry for help based on a whim? What if he’s hurt and couldn’t understand what your lovely mage asked?"
The word mage turned to her and glared. "Listen up you daggered bitch, don’t doubt my magic. And if you want, wait for 5 minutes and I will prove it to you again," she said.
"He will be dead in 5 minutes." Eva shared a side-eye with Claire before sighing deeply. "We don’t have time to loiter around and think, we should go save him."
"Bruh, if you’re that excited to die then go ahead. We won’t even stop you." Sena grunted in annoyance, rubbing her jaw painfully.
"Hah, maybe we will. At least we have the guts to take a risk and do something good." Claire said coldly. "SaNgUiNi A BiG GuIlD. My foot."
After leaving a cold remark behind, Claire didn’t hesitate and picked up her sword that had fallen during the fight, storing it back within the inventory as she moved into the tall, bloody stadium.
Lia and Aaron glanced at each other, feeling confused and caught off guard as half their team was already going into the dark path.
He knew Claire well and also knew that she wouldn’t take a useless risk like this just to save a person who was 99% surely a monster.
Then... why was she going in without a single care in the world...?
However, his answers came much faster than he anticipated as halfway in, Claire and Jaq broke into low laughter, Eva rolling her eyes from the side.
"We are such good people." Jaq giggled.
"Indeed." Claire nodded sagely. "This was the best way I could think of that can guarantee us a way into the stadium. Let’s just hurry up and hunt those tombats, yeah?"
"It’s a stupid plan. You’re taking that mimic very lightly." Eva sighed.
"Oh come on~ We have seen one before. Don’t approach him, he won’t approach you. Perfect symbiotic relationship." Jaq said. "I guess you won’t understand since you’ve been single all your life. Oh well."
Eva’s face flushed at Jaq’s words, her eyes turning to look at Aaron while Claire turned to glance at her.
Who was supposed to explain to her that Eva had already found a relationship? And that too not just any, but a shared relationship with two other women besides herself.
The worst part? It might grow further if Aaron wished to add more.
All three of them quickly coughed and changed the topic as they made their way into the dark pathway, which was drenched with dried blood and smaller chunks of flesh.
The dead bodies were already picked off and given a respectful burial during the first official sweep by the government, whose aim was simply to kill as many big monsters as possible and leave the smaller bugs for other raiders to grab a piece of the pie.
Once the pathway ended, the cohort’s feet landed onto soft grass that had grown up to their ankles, lush green and growing slightly irregularly since there was no one to trim it for the last few weeks.
Each of them switched on their flashlights, covering each direction within their view.
Overhead in the sky the round moon hung, bathing the world in its pale moonlight and reducing the need for flashlights.
But even with the moonlight the visibility was hindered and thus the flashlight was advised.
Each of them summoned their weapons in their main hands while holding the light with their offhands.
"Keep your eyes peeled for the bats." Claire suggested.
Jaq hummed. "I see one."
And before anyone could react to her sudden announcement, she flicked the throwing knife in her right hand at a flying target, eliciting a pained yelp.
Thud
Right in front of their eyes, a small 20–30 centimeter long bat fell out of the sky, plummeting toward the ground as the space around it warped dangerously.
By the time it hit the ground, the small bat had transformed into a 1 meter long monstrosity with ugly hairy wings and a disgusting expression, its maw wide open.
Its appearance was more disturbing than it was scary, featuring a pig-like nose and rotting ears. Big nipples were poking out of its chest, suggesting its gender to be female.
"Who’s on collection duty?" Jaq asked lazily, looking at the dead monster like it was a regular day of her life.
"Leaders don’t do such menial tasks." Claire shook her head calmly.
"I’m just a healer, I am a woman of the holy mana. Surely it cannot be me." Eva said with a smile.
"I have low physical stats, surely there are better people for the job than me, right?" Lia said politely.
In the end, all the eyes fell on Aaron and Katie.
"I fucking hate you motherfuckers." Katie cursed in annoyance, glaring at her teammates before making aggressive steps toward the corpse while they snickered behind her back.
No one even asked Aaron to do it, and truth be told, if he were told to do so, he would’ve been more clueless than disgusted or annoyed.
He had no idea what to collect for the task and how to retrieve it.
Thus the responsibility had to fall onto poor Katie as she leaned toward the corpse and pulled out a small hatchet from the satchel on her waist, using it to cut off the tombat’s wing and storing it within a plastic bag.
But before she could return to her teammates, the same familiar voice screamed again, this time from much, much closer...
"Help!"
