My Life In A Fantasy, Women-Dominated World-Chapter 127: The Real Word Magic
"Will you help me...?" a low voice whispered into the Sanguini’s ears.
"What the fuck is going on?" A clueless and caught-off-guard woman murmured in a daze, definitely not expecting to hear a scary and creepy voice to greet her.
Vyra’s eyes widened, flying to meet Claire’s eyes, who was still leaning against Aaron’s shoulder, grief visible in her eyes as Vyra laughed in derision.
She made sure not to let any sound out, but there was nothing she could do other than gesture to all her teammates to stay silent.
Alas, it wasn’t as easy as it sounded.
Their group wasn’t as tightly bound as Claire’s group, and they were also at a disadvantage since the monster had caught them completely off guard.
Well, he caught Claire off guard as well, but at least it wasn’t at a moment where they were so... vulnerable.
As expected...
"Why the fuck were you not replying to us when you’re still here, bitch?!" The word mage glared at Claire and cursed in annoyance.
She was the one whom everyone doubted, blaming her that her stupid magic didn’t even work.
She was put under so much scrutiny that she felt like dying from shame. And the woman, the one who was supposed to reply, was standing right at the door?
Even if Claire’s expression was of grief and pain, the wind mage didn’t see it as such.
In her eyes, she saw Claire as if she was gloating at her. Mocking her.
After all, it was one of the human mind’s powers to manipulate the reality in front of itself in a way that suited the owner’s mind.
If someone wrote dig bick, most humans would read it as big dick even if they had seen it coming.
And in addition to the wind mage, another woman was very annoyed at Claire. Sena, the woman who got sucker punched in the jaw so hard that it nearly got dislocated.
Hell, it still pained her after nearly half an hour and an invaluable healer’s healing magic!
"Bitch, if you were okay then why the fuck did you not reply?!"
Hearing the torrents of curses, Jaq clenched her teeth and fists tightly, her eyes blazing as she glared at the stupidity of the Sanguini guild members. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
She wanted to shout. Tell them that ’You motherfuckers, if we were able to speak we would’ve done so! Stop being retards and think for yourselves! And why the fuck are you ignoring that monster’s first question!!!!
DO NONE OF YOU KNOW HOW A MIMIC’S POWERS WORK?!’
Of course, she could say none of that and neither of them had sufficient time to tell it in writing, as they watched the Sanguini guild scramble among themselves.
Vyra was among the smarter ones who realized something was wrong with Claire’s team’s disposition and the first thing they heard when coming here, as she gathered a smaller team of smarter ones and tried to escape back outside.
But the moment she tried to take a step into the exit, darkness swirled and manifested right in front of her eyes.
"Are... you going to... run away too...?"
It was a 7-foot-tall man, eyes plucked out of their sockets and blood seemed to pour messily, face tilted into a perpetual grin.
Even as he spoke, his mouth refused to move, as the words were not mere sound but a very high and advanced version of word magic that the Sanguini woman had pride in.
Vyra resisted the urge to yelp in fear when she saw the scary man manifest in front of her, grabbing her teammates and scrambling backwards into the stadium and toward Claire’s crew.
By now, the dumb Sanguini members had also caught up on the unease, alas, it was already too late.
They had already been marked as prey by the Mimic, a very high-level and advanced monster, nearly in the ranks of level 65–70.
None of them were even close to it in power, but luckily, his broken powers came with a severe loophole.
As a being based on the underrated and underexplored word magic, his powers came from manipulation and speech.
The more you answer him, the weaker you get, and as long as you do not talk to him, he wouldn’t target you.
Of course, this didn’t mean that you could get chummy with him as a simple swipe of his fingers was enough to end the life of several humans.
There was a huge difference between not targeting and not killing.
After all, even Vyra and the other teammates had to run in the other direction when the mimic chose to appear in front of them, blocking their path.
And now, all of them were personally offered a live ticket to the greatest gore show of their life, hosted by one of the most sadistic and weird creatures of the underworld.
In front of them, 5 Sanguini guild members stood with their flashlights fallen, their bodies frozen.
Not from fear or any superficial feeling, but with the power of that monster, who no longer covered his face as if the light was hurting him.
He walked straight without a limp, blood flowing from his eyes and the creepy grin stretching wider and wider that Aaron worried his face might get cut.
It greatly resembled the joker’s smile, spreading wide across the face.
His body was slim with barely any skin covering his bones, appearing like he was an underfed spiny dog rather than a fearsome 7-foot-tall monster.
He extended a bony hand toward a woman who was frozen in a compromised position, her legs spread wide and body fallen onto the floor as if she had fallen onto her butt and gotten frozen like that.
Her beautiful face was twisted into horror as she watched his hand come closer and closer with widened eyes.
"Help me, please?" the monster leaned lower to match her height, staring into her eyes, only that his eyes were darkened and popped out.
The woman screamed in response, finally getting control over her speech back.
She screamed, asking him to go away, crying and calling for whatever family member she could think of.
Hell, she even asked for Vyra’s help, making the monster look in Vyra’s direction with a cruel grin.
He kept staring at Vyra all the while tightening his hand over the woman’s head, holding it and inserting his bony fingers into her skull as if her head was a bowling ball.
And right in front of her eyes...
The head exploded into flesh and blood...
