My Online Girlfriend Has a Twin Sister-Chapter 119 - 83: The Quarrel Escalates, Fists and Feet Fly, Whose Love Do You Think You’re Enjoying?
She vaguely remembered an autumn from many years ago, in a small villa in Mingzhu City. Jiangg Yao was practicing the piano alone in her bedroom.
Outside, the leaves on the western hills had turned yellow. It was afternoon.
A gust of wind swept by, and countless leaves broke from their branches, drifting lazily through the air like flakes of fire.
She played the piano mechanically, without any emotion, her gaze dull, like a lifeless puppet.
Her sister had gone abroad for school, leaving her all alone to spend a long and sorrowful eighteenth year. It was then that Jiangg Yao felt a profound loneliness, the sting of being abandoned. For the first time, she felt a flicker of resentment toward Jiangg Ning.
Glimpses of the two sisters laughing and playing together flickered in and out of existence in every corner of the villa.
She would think she heard them, and she’d whip her head around, only to see nothing there.
Every night, as Jiangg Yao tossed and turned in bed, she couldn’t resist hugging the other pillow, inhaling the faint scent left upon it.
She missed her sister terribly. If only they could never be separated.
But then, abruptly, on that one afternoon.
To everyone’s surprise, Jiangg Ning appeared at the villa’s entrance, laden with bags. She ran through the swirling leaves, the wheels of her suitcase rumbling over the doormat.
The housekeeper poked her head out of the kitchen in surprise, but Jiangg Ning put a finger to her lips, signaling for silence.
Jiangg Ning took the spiral staircase, running all the way up to the second floor. The click-clack of her heels sounded like music.
"Yaoyao, I’m back!"
She opened the door and shouted to her stunned sister inside.
"Sister!?"
The wind stirred the leaves into a ceaseless rustle. Sunlight streamed through the window, casting the two sisters’ shadows onto the floor.
They hugged each other with all their might, basking in the warmth of their sisterly bond. Even the housekeeper, watching from downstairs, teared up at the sight.
"Yaoyao, I love you more than anyone," Jiangg Ning said, her voice thick with emotion.
...
「In the blink of an eye, so many years had passed.」
The sisters, whose bond was once stronger than gold, were now wrestling in the living room of this house in Lanjing.
"Jiangg Yao, I’m going to strangle you!"
"You’re crushing my nose! It hurts..."
After only a few minutes of grappling, Jiangg Ning had already gained the upper hand. They were sprawled on the wide sofa, Jiangg Yao flat on her back. Her sister’s elbow pressed down on her face, half-blocking her view of the ceiling.
Her words came out in a thick, nasal tone.
With her arms completely pinned, Jiangg Yao had no idea where her sister found such strength. Trapped and unable to move, all she could do was struggle with her legs.
But her sister sat astride her, looking down from above, as immovable as a mountain.
"Weren’t you being so high and mighty, Jiangg Yao? Don’t you know your own place? Picking a fight with me? You’ve got some nerve!"
"I’m going to fight you! Don’t you dare let me up..." Jiangg Yao’s eyes were red with indignation. Her short skirt had ridden up, and her long, fair legs thrashed about like a carp’s tail on dry land.
But it was futile. The brief struggle had completely drained her energy.
Now, her chest heaved, her delicate face was flushed, and it looked like it would take a long while for her to catch her breath.
"Rest assured, I’m not letting you up until you admit you’re wrong today." Jiangg Ning was also winded, panting as she spoke, but her grip didn’t loosen in the slightest.
"You jerk! You horrible sister! You psycho! I hate you!"
"Still talking back?" Jiangg Ning reached out and viciously pinched the soft flesh of her sister’s waist. The younger girl cried out, her scream getting caught in her throat as tears of pain instantly streamed down her face.
"It’s obviously your fault, but you’re still the one hitting me!" Two clear streams of tears slid from the corners of Jiangg Yao’s eyes, soaking the sofa on either side of her head. "How can you be so unreasonable? From now on, I don’t want you as my sister anymore! I... I don’t have a sister!"
"Stop playing pitiful. I don’t have a sister like you either!"
"I hate you... I hate you so much," Jiangg Yao sobbed. "All you ever do is bully me! Just wait until I tell Chen Yuan and have him put you in your place! *Sob...*"
"You have the nerve to tell your brother-in-law? Huh? He’s *my* boyfriend. If Chen Yuan finds out, he’ll be the one teaching *you* a lesson for me."
"Jiangg Ning, you’re so shameless! He’s *my* boyfriend!"
Jiangg Yao shrieked. A nerve had been struck, and she immediately began to struggle violently, muttering that her sister was shameless, a hypocrite who twisted logic to steal what she loved.
It only took a few insults for Jiangg Ning’s eyebrows to shoot up in anger. An irrepressible rage once again flooded her delicate features.
She slapped a hand over Jiangg Yao’s mouth!
"Shut up! Don’t make me slap you, you rotten Yaoyao! You’ll say anything now, won’t you? You’re completely unhinged! I won’t even bring up all the things you fought me for when we were younger. But now, when it comes to something this important, you still have no sense of decency. You don’t even realize the gravity of what you’re doing."
"Mmph... mmmph..."
"I tried talking to you nicely, but you wouldn’t listen. You forced my hand. I guess you’re only happy after getting a beating, is that it?" Jiangg Ning’s voice grew colder. "I swear I’m going to fix that warped view of love you have."
"Mmph!"
With her mouth covered, Jiangg Yao couldn’t get a single word out. She whimpered, her brows furrowed in distress. Her face grew redder and redder from the lack of air, and after a moment, it even began to take on a bluish tint.
It looked like she was suffocating.
Jiangg Ning suddenly stopped talking, looked at her with confusion, and studied her carefully for a moment.
’Wait, doesn’t she have a cold?’ she suddenly thought. ’If I cover her mouth, she can’t breathe!’
Jiangg Ning’s heart dropped. She snatched her hand back in a panic.
"Yaoyao, I forgot you had a cold! Are you okay? Breathe! Come on, take deep breaths!"
