My Seven Wives in One Body and Me, her Manager-Chapter 117: Oh No, We Got Caught
Sasha and Minji immediately stepped forward, closing in on Diana, Dulcia, and Deborah, who looked disheveled and dirty but appeared surprisingly fresh, not exhausted like they were. The two of them began scrutinizing the three faces that were identical to Daisy’s. Their brows furrowed as they looked at Diana, who had her hair in a single braid in the back, Dulcia, whose hair was tied in a bun, and Deborah, whose hair hung down in waves instead of being straight like Daisy’s.
Sasha stood in front of the three of them with her arms crossed and her hand resting on her chin, one eyebrow raised and her face looking completely puzzled, as if she were trying to piece together a puzzle that didn’t fit. Meanwhile, Minji stood with her hands on her hips, looking the three of them up and down, then up again, over and over in total confusion, as if her eyes were playing tricks on her.
"Are you guys really Daisy?" Sasha asked, completely bewildered.
"Um... we’re Daisy’s three triplet sisters... yeah, that’s right," Diana answered, sweating and acting awkward.
"Oh... so Daisy has three identical sisters, I’m just finding this out now," Minji remarked.
"Hmm... there’s no mistake, you look exactly like Daisy. Is she your older sister or the youngest?" asked Ivan, stepping up next to Sasha, his body covered in grime and splatters of some unrecognizable fluid.
"Um... the three of us are her younger sisters," Diana said, glancing at Dulcia and Deborah, who remained silent, terrified of speaking.
"Man... Dennis is one lucky guy, having quadruplet wives. Better watch out or he’ll mix you guys up," joked Hyunjin, who also looked a mess.
"You’re right about that, bro. So what are you guys doing out here?" Brad asked. Then he turned to look at the Claw Centipede, which was already mangled from Deborah’s dissection, before looking back at the three of them. "Did you guys take down this S-rank monster?" Brad added as a follow-up.
Diana and Dulcia immediately looked toward Deborah, who was still holding a piece of the shell in her hand. When she realized it, she quickly hid her hand behind her back and dropped the shell, causing it to hit the ground with a thud.
"Um... no, not at all. We were just passing through. Our house is in the western district... right, we’re just heading home," Diana said, stammering while trying to stay calm.
"This monster was already dead when we arrived," Dulcia added, trying to sound more convincing.
"Oh, I see. I thought you guys defeated this thing. If you had, that would have made you incredibly powerful," Akira noted.
"Um... that’s impossible, we aren’t powerful at all, haha," Diana said, adding an awkward laugh.
"Hmm... I’m still curious here. You guys are exactly like Daisy—the face, the body—only the hairstyle is different... hmm... you’re really not Daisy, right?" Sasha asked, sounding like she wasn’t convinced yet.
"R-right, we’re Daisy’s three younger triplet sisters. It’s normal for our faces to look alike since we’re quadruplets born from the same parents, haha," Diana answered, growing more awkward and hoping they could leave soon.
"Hey, that’s enough, Sasha. You’re bothering them with all these questions," Ivan scolded.
"Haaah... fine, I get it. So you really are Daisy’s younger sisters," Sasha replied, taking a step back.
"Do you guys go to the same school as us too? But how come we’ve never run into you at school?" Minji asked with a puzzled look, having spent the whole time scanning the three of them from head to toe and back again.
The three of them instantly fell silent, leaving Minji’s question hanging in the air. They looked down at their clothes, which were clearly identical to Daisy’s armored uniform, complete with the school emblem indicating they attended the Emerald Military Academy’s main branch. The color drained from their faces, leaving them even paler than before. They looked down, glancing at one each other as if searching for the right answer. Then, Deborah lifted her head.
"We... borrowed our sister’s uniforms because ours were destroyed on the first day when everything was attacked," Deborah said, answering Minji’s question.
"Yeah, that’s right. We’re wearing our sister’s spare uniforms," Diana added, trying to be convincing.
"Exactly, exactly... the three of us go to the west branch of Emerald Military Academy, and we just happened to come from our sister’s place to borrow these uniforms," Dulcia added, trying to sound more convincing.
"Hmm... turns out Daisy has a lot of spare uniforms... but you guys are walking around outside in the middle of a city like this without any weapons?" Minji asked once more, still unconvinced as she stared intensely at the three of them.
The three of them fell silent again and looked down once more, their faces practically screaming, "Oh man, enough already, why are the questions so detailed, just leave quickly." But Hyunjin stepped forward and grabbed his wife’s shoulder, making Minji turn to look at him. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Look at you, interrogating these girls; we still have a lot of work to do, let’s go, hurry up," Hyunjin said.
"Yeah, besides, I once heard from Naomi and Blake that Daisy supposedly has twin sisters. Forget it, let’s get back to work," Brad added.
"Haaah... fine then. You three be careful on your way home. I know Daisy is strong, and I’m sure you guys are strong too, but it doesn’t hurt to stay on guard," Minji said to the three of them.
"Yes, thank you," Diana, Dulcia, and Deborah replied in unison.
"Wow... synchronized. Okay, I believe you’re triplets. Let’s head out," Sasha said with a smile.
"Yeah, alright. We still have to patrol several areas, so we can’t escort you home. Be careful in this mess; if you can’t handle an enemy, just run and avoid it, understood?" Ivan added.
"Yes... understood," Diana, Dulcia, and Deborah replied in unison again.
"Good. Alright, we’re moving out. Come on everyone, we still have plenty of work to do until this city is back on solid ground," Ivan said, turning to look at his teammates.
Ivan, Sasha, Hyunjin, Minji, Brad, and Akira each said their goodbyes to Diana, Dulcia, and Deborah. Then they turned and left the three of them standing there, frozen and motionless. Once Ivan’s team was far enough away, "thud," Diana, Dulcia, and Deborah collapsed, sitting weakly on the ground. Their faces looked incredibly relieved as they let out a synchronized breath of air.
"That was almost a disaster," Dulcia said with relief.
"Yeah, it would’ve been a waste of those shells. Better pack them up," Deborah said, grabbing her shells again and putting them into dimensional storage.
"I really didn’t see that coming—Ivan’s team being in the western district. I thought we were the only ones out here," Diana replied with a sigh of relief.
"Yeah, if they ever found out we’re actually part of Daisy, our husband could get incredibly angry and hate us... I don’t want that to ever happen," Deborah added, exhaling deeply.
"Forget it... the important thing is they’re gone and we’re safe now. There’s nothing left to talk about," Dulcia replied, relieved.
The three of them fell silent for a moment. Besides the relief of Ivan’s team leaving, they were also letting their exhaustion fade while taking in their surroundings. The atmosphere turned quiet again. In the deep darkness around them, no buildings were visible except for some farmers’ huts at the edge of the plantations and a few harvest storage sheds. The three of them looked relaxed, leaning back on their hands, then Diana turned to look at Dulcia and Deborah sitting casually beside her.
"Should we just head to another area? Ivan’s team is here and we have no idea who else might show up. We shouldn’t run into anyone else, just to be safe," Diana said, looking over at Dulcia and Deborah sitting beside her.
"Hmm... what if we go to that beach from before? There should be plenty of monsters there too, right?" Dulcia suggested.
"Let’s just go east; there are bound to be plenty of monsters there too. Besides, I’ve never been to the eastern region. Maybe there are lots of materials for my research there. What do you think... do you guys agree?" Deborah replied.
"Hmm... let’s ask Sami first... Sami, can you tell us where the dangerous monsters are clustered?" Diana asked.
[To the north, there is an S-rank Strider Kraken; to the east, there is an A-rank Raven Queen Bee. In the south, there are many S and A-rank monsters, but it’s crowded, so please decide.]
"Okay, north," Dulcia said, raising her fist.
"Fine then... let’s just go north. Besides, it should be quiet there with no one from our school around, and I’m sure there are plenty of samples I can collect there too," Deborah replied, resigned.
"Right, let’s move," Diana said, standing up.
Once the three of them were on their feet, they immediately took off at a speed that almost rivaled the speed of light, reaching the northern district—a region of artificial beaches and seas—in a single instant.
