Chapter 937: The Emergence of Azazel (Part-2)

Meanwhile, at Sector 1, Silvershapers Guild;

Inside the guildmaster office, a man in his early thirties, , was half-asleep on his couch with his uniform unbuttoned and a half-empty beer can in his hand. When the tremor hit, his window shattered inward. Ivan jerked awake, dropping the can. "What the hell..."

As he hurriedly reach to the window and peeked outside, toward the source of the demonic surge he sensed earlier.

Outside, a wave of crimson energy shot into the sky, like a pillar. Its aura heat up the air around and even make the water boil in the river.

He rushed back to his desk and grabbed his communicator, yelling in it, "This is an order from GM’s office. All units, code black! I repeat—Code Black! Everyone of Rank-5 and above is assembled in Guild hall."

Meanwhile, in a Presidential Suite of a five star hotel owned by Origin Group, Selene and Elise sat opposite each other with a chessboard between them. The sound of ticking clocks and clinking glass filled the night air. Luna was sleeping in the other room.

Elise spoke as she moved a knight. "So, your father still refuses to marry you into the Death clan?"

Selene frowned slightly, resting her chin on her palm. "Yeah, even I don’t have a problem. I don’t understand what his problem was. I mean... it’s not like Lord Azrael is an old man or something. He is not even 40 years old, far younger than my parents. Lord Azrael not only became the strongest being in the world but he also proved the world laws wrong. Lady Leiza got pregnant with his baby too. If this marriage proceeds, our Moon Clan’s future could be secured for millennia."

Elise gave her a look, at those words. "Maybe, it’s because he was worried about your future. You know that Lord Azrael has already a wife. However, I wonder... if your father would want to marry you off to Orion, instead."

Selene dropped her shoulders and let out a sigh, "I know. My mother was also saying the same thing. It’s not that I have a problem with Orion. he has more or less similar qualities to his dad, but Lord Azrael is just..." Her eyes lit up and her face seemed like she was dreaming, "Well, he is someone whose legendary stories I have been listening to while growing up, he is someone whom I had a crush on, since like forever... Marrying Orion would just complicate things... It’s alright if Mother marries me somewhere else, but marrying lord Azrael’s son and then roaming in the same house as him... I don’t think my heart would be able to take it." After a pause, she then raised her eyebrow, "By the way, if I remember correctly, you slept with Orion too. Was it that easy for you to talk about his marriage to me?"

To that, Elise chuckled and shook her head, "C’mon, girl... It’s just an ONS. We were drunk, and it happened. I don’t like him or something, but yeah, if I must say, he is the best sex I’ve ever had in my life. I would love to fool around with him again, as long as he is a non-committed person. But the last time we talk... his personality has changed too much. Forget about me, I don’t think he would be interested in dating anyone else..."

"Hmm..." Selene nodded as if she agreed with her friend. "I guess you are right... he was giving the same vibes as the..."

Before she could finish the sentence, both turned their heads toward the east as the demonic pillar lit the sky like a burning wound. The chess piece slipped from Selene’s hand. "What... is that?"

"A fallen angel?" Elise whispered as she repeated the words of her Arcana spirit, The Great Nidhoggr, who was roaring. "The fallen angel has been resurrected. The Angel of Rebellion and corruption..."

Meanwhile, Luna stirred in her sleep. Her eyes snapped open, sensing it. "This pressure... it’s suffocating..."

As she rushed out of her room, she saw Selene and Elise also getting up from their seats.

"What’s going on?" She asked in worry.

Selene looked at Elise, who then walked toward the balcony while speaking. "You two girls, Stay here. Let me go and check the situation."

Back at Four Seasons;

Just like every other hotel around, the entire building shuddered. Chandeliers swayed, glass trembled, and car alarms echoed from the streets below.

And inside one of the rooms, Orion’s eyes snapped open. At the same moment, Kate sat up in bed, clutching the sheets. "What... what was that?" she gasped, eyes wide.

Orion’s expression hardened immediately. "An evil force..." he muttered under his breath.

A pause later, Orion’s brows furrowed. "A demigod?"

As his eyes shifted to Kate, who was still trying to steady her breathing, his facial expression changed.

"Orion?" she whispered, glancing at him. "Why does it feel like... like the whole city is suffocating? I have a special condition that lets me bear any kind of powerful aura, but this is beyond the limit."

He didn’t answer right away. Instead, he thought. "I don’t think I can leave her in this chaos and go and fight it. who knows how many more enemies there are. I need to first secure her safety."

Suddenly, he remembered Selene and Luna. A thought appeared in his head. He immediately grabbed his phone and dialed a number.

Kate, still sitting on the bed, frowned. "What’s happening, Orion? Why aren’t you saying anything?"

But he didn’t answer. He simply gestured to her that he would talk later by showing his palm and then walked to the side. The call tone buzzed once, twice— Not reachable.

He frowned, tried again. Still busy. A third time—same result.

"Damn it," he muttered, before quickly pulling up another contact.

This time, he called Selene.

The line connected after two rings. Her voice came first, quick and urgent. "Orion! Are you okay? Something’s happening in the city—"

"I know," he interrupted softly, tone steady but heavy. "I can feel that presence."

There was a brief pause before he asked, "Say, is Luna with you? I called her to check in on you guys, but I can’t reach her."

Selene replied. "Yes, she is with us. Where are you by the way?"

Before Orion could reply, another voice cut in from the background. "He’s at Four Seasons! Let’s go."

That was Luna’s voice.

Orion sighed and finally spoke in a calm but firm voice. "Okay, come quickly. It’s better to stick together. By the way, Elise is with you right. Tell her to come along too."

There was confusion on the other end, then Luna’s surprised voice chimed in, "Wait—how did you know Elise’s with us? Did Selene tell you?"

Orion froze for a fraction of a second, realizing his slip. "Ah—yeah, a friend told me," he improvised quickly.

Luna narrowed her eyes slightly on the other side with suspicion in her tone. "Friend?"

He nodded instinctively even though she couldn’t see him. "Kate Moreau. You know, Aries’ friend. She was at the auction too. Said she saw you three together."

Right then, a voice came from behind him, "is it Aries’ sisters on the phone?"

It was Kate, standing near the bed, who was checking out the phone too, trying to understand what was going on outside.

Orion froze.

On the other end of the line, Luna’s expression changed instantly too; her face stiffened and her grip on the phone tightened. "Who was that?" she asked, her voice rose so high that it made Selene flinch for a moment.

Orion’s heart skipped a beat. He swallowed hard and forced a laugh, turning his head slightly toward Kate.

"It’s... uh... it’s Kate. I just told you," he said quickly, trying to sound natural.

A brief silence followed.

From the other end, Luna’s voice came again, this time quieter, heavier. "What the hell is that bitch doing in your room? What are you doing behind my back?"

"Uhh..."

At Luna’s outburst, Orion suddenly felt like the guy who was cheating on his girlfriend but got caught in the act.

He hurriedly spoke. "No, it’s not what it appears like. We actually kinda checked into opposite rooms, you know, since she was my client and all... Because of that aura earlier, I came to check on her." A lie came out of his mouth before he even realized.

"Really?" Luna’s voice came colder than before. "Then your body must have been moving before you even think about it. That aura flared up only a few moments ago, and you just barged outside your room and intruded into hers to check on her?"

"Uhh..."
