Chapter 938: The Emergence of Azazel (Part-3)

Orion’s face froze once again. "Luna, she was my client, and I was supposed to protect her. Who else would I think of first? If it is anyone’s fault, it’s your dad’s. Master is the one who ordered me to take this mission."

Right then, Kate’s voice came again, cutting in unintentionally before Luna reacted to it. "Orion, looks like the power’s gone. You should charge your phone before the backup generator dies, too."

Luna went silent. Orion hurriedly said. "Babe, you just stay safe, alright? Stick to both of them. Your sister is a supreme realm expert. And with a Rank-8 like Elise on the side, you will be safe. Contact me in the group chat if anything happens."

He didn’t wait for a reply and hung up immediately, letting out a long exhale.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Luna was still staring at the darkened phone screen when she felt Selene’s gaze on her.

"Tell me honestly," Selene asked, her tone gentle but direct. "Is there something going on between you and Orion

Luna blinked, taken aback. "What? No! Nothing like that."

Selene didn’t look convinced. "Then how come you were so rattled the moment you heard Kate’s voice? And if I remember correctly, he just called you, Babe?"

Luna pursed her lips, avoiding eye contact. "I was just... surprised, that’s all. Kate Moreau is actually my ex-boyfriend’s cousin. I wasn’t expecting her name to come up suddenly. And as for Orion, he just calls everyone like that, he turned into a bit of a flirt lately. If you don’t believe me, you can ask Dad."

"You had an ex-boyfriend?" Both Selene and Elise reacted at the same time.

"What?" Luna blinked and then, pushing up her glasses, she added. "I have a social life too. I don’t just spend all my time in the library and researching."

Selene crossed her arms, still not being convinced. Her gaze sharpened as she said, "You do know that Mother is planning to wed me into the Death clan, right? I hope you don’t complicate things by keeping things secret."

Luna froze. The room went quiet except for the faint hum of the emergency lights flickering above them.

As Luna hesitated, unsure how to respond to Selene’s piercing words, the sound of hurried footsteps drew both their attention. Elise burst in from the terrace, returning to the room with a grim expression. "Girls, it’s bad," she said sharply. "It’s indeed a demigod rank demon, more specifically a fallen angel."

Her words froze both Selene and Luna in place.

"And that’s not all," Elise continued. "A barrier has been erected... over the entire city."

"Over the entire city?" Selene gasped, standing up abruptly. "Are we trapped inside?"

As Luna frowned at that, clutching Selene’s phone in her hands, Elise said, "Whatever the case, we need to unite with Orion and plan forward. I contacted my superiors too. The President will come in person to take care of this matter, but I don’t think he is a match for a demigod. Orion is the only one who can help us, as he can contact his father. And please don’t contact the Moon clan. You will unnecessarily bring death to your clansmen."

"What are you saying?" As Selene was taken aback by her suggestion, Luna nodded in agreement. "I agree. Only a demigod can fight another demigod."

Selene furrowed her brows in disagreement. "18 years ago, When Lord Azrael was a Rank-9, he fought and killed a demigod level otherwordly being that threatened the Death clan."

Luna indifferently shrugged at that, "Well, not everyone is Lord Azrael, sis. If there is anyone apart from him, who can replicate his legend, it is only Zion. But you recently mentioned that Zion is currently in closed-door training, attempting to master the Jewel of Water that was passed onto him."

Selene exhaled sharply and turned toward the door instead of replying to her twin sister. "Anyway, we don’t have time to argue here. Let’s move."

Then, glancing back at Luna, she added, "You said he checked into Four Seasons, right?"

Luna nodded.

"Then that’s where we’re going."

Without another word, the three women grabbed their weapons and coats, vanishing down the emergency stairwell as the city’s sirens began to wail in the distance.

Twenty minutes later — Four Seasons Presidential Suite;

On the highest floor, Alexander sat comfortably on the balcony with a cup of red wine in hand and a long-range tactical telescope mounted before him. Through its lens, the scene outside unfolded like a painting of chaos — a massive humanoid of pure energy rampaging through the city center.

Below it, dozens of hunters from various guilds had already engaged the creature, their abilities flashing like sparks in the darkness. Explosions, smoke, and beams of light lit up the night sky as alarms blared across the metropolis.

Alexander smiled faintly. "So it begins... Azazel’s return has truly turned this city into hell."

He swirled his glass lazily, the reflection of crimson flames dancing in his eyes. "However, it isn’t the right time to act. I need many sacrifices and a couple of deaths of powerful experts. When the city lost its hope, I will act and become the savior. "

Across the central district, the Silvershapers Guild, the so-called the strongest guild in Ashenford, had already mobilized three strike units — Team Argent, Team Coreline, and Team Helix — all made up of seasoned Arcana Masters

At the front line stood Rafael, the team captain, a Rank-8 Arcana Master who controlled liquid silver as though it were alive. His metallic armor gleamed as he hurled razor-sharp streams of molten silver toward the towering demonic figure.

Beside him, Fei Yan, another Rank-8 known for her Ice manipulation, froze incoming fireballs with a flick of her fingers, shouting orders into her comm.

"Hold the line! Support from Team Coreline coming in ten seconds!"

However, they weren’t the only ones who were deployed. Two Rank-9 Arcana Masters, who were long retired and enjoying their time in the city with their relatives, forced to come out at the same time. Gareth, the "Crimson Spear," and Noel Viera, the "Saint of Bulwark," came to support and the soldiers cheered down below.

For a brief moment, hope returned.

The street trembled as Gareth’s crimson aura erupted as his spear blazing like molten magma.

"Mr. Noel, I need cover while I invoke my ultimate attack." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"You got it."

Noel stretched his hand upward and mumbled, "The Shield of Bulwark."

Soul energy flared up from his body, unleashing a series of shield-shaped attacks toward Azazel. They all surrounded him in no time and revolved around him, intending to redirect every attack Azazel unleashed onto the streets around toward themselves and absorb them.

The sky that lit up with beams and explosions redirected toward the shields as planned and disappeared, leaving behind only the giant humanoid armor around the floating Azazel.

The low and mid-ranked hunters, especially those who were ranged attackers, launched a series of attacks on a suppressed Azazel, while the close combat fighters either ended up as spectators to cheer for the two Rank-9 veterans or helped other guilds evacuate the public.

"Argh... You Pests... disappear..."

As Azazel only got enraged by their defiance, he swept through all of those defensive shields in one swing and unleashed a sea of flames to incinerate the hunters around.

By the time Gareth finished his technique, summoning a giant sphere of light in the sky, the streets around were razed to the ground, half of the hunters turned into ash, while the other half received serious injuries. Not even those Rank-6 and 7 of the Silvershapers Guild, who were the primary force on the frontlines, were spared. Noel barely managed to defend himself.

"Die..." Gareth, in rage and despair, motioned his hand. The Spear of Light, which once killed a Supreme realm monster in Arcana world and gave him the title of Crimson Spear, descended toward Azazel.

However, just when it was about to strike the Azazel, the latter pushed forth his hand. The giant humanoid armor around him mimicked his movement and blocked the spear before sucking it into its hand.

That became the cue for Gareth and Noel to realize what sort of an enemy they were dealing with. Both of them rushed forward to face the Azazel, giving time for the people to escape through a barrier that was erected around the city premises, which surprisingly allowed anything to go in and leave, but blocked anything but humans.

The city descended into panic. People ran, vehicles overturned, screams echoed through every street.

After a while;

Grabbing both of their throats, Azazel raised a defeated Gareth and Noel high to his eye level, basically where he was floating inside the giant armored head. "Your time to show off your powers is over. Now, it’s my..."

Before he finished the words, a stream of light struck his giant armor hands cleanly, releasing both of them.

As they were about to fall down, they were caught by what seemed like a hand.

While Azazel’s armored form’s arms regenerated, a person appeared in the air, floating behind the golden hand that caught the two Rank-9 hunters.

His aura dwarfed every hunter present.

"That’s... Lord Ren from the National Bureau!" someone gasped.
