My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 102: Rules
Chapter 102: Rules
"Mmm-mmm-mmm..."
In an unusually good mood, Bianca hummed as she walked ahead. Elian noticed she practically skipped with joy. Seeing his lover extremely happy, he too felt his own mood improve.
Interesting, so this is what being in love feels like.
Elian couldn’t help the corners of his lips curl up. Whether it was seeing Bianca’s happiness or the fact that they were walking on a city sidewalk, he didn’t know. It only dawned on him just how long he had been away from society.
He looked around and while this city was the same one he grew up in, it felt foreign. The snow-colored lands of Fralhame or the warm orange forests of Averignis felt cozier.
He then felt a hand tugging him across the street. "Darling! There, there is the bank! Let’s go," his wife chirped in happiness.
Her joy was infectious—passersby couldn’t help but grin. Random men and aunts would smile in response to just seeing "Chiara Alvestra." And while her face was not the one Elian grew used to, her soul was the same.
"Mom, can’t you do something about Bianca? She is creeping people out."
"Hush, Whisper, do not spoil your sister’s fun. Besides, being happy is far better than being gloomy."
Burny and Bastion said nothing and watched their surroundings. Apart from the women, the men in their party never forgot that they were in enemy territory. Behind every person they encountered was a possible Breaker that could hurt their family.
"System, show me the latest news."
[Affirmative.]
[Daily Breaker: Dungeon City lockdowns still in effect.]
[They are hiding something! Conspiracy theory about latest lockdowns.]
[Lockdown 101: what you can and cannot do in a lockdown.]
"Hmm, there isn’t much about me, is there?"
[Affirmative. The announcement has been sent out worldwide, but only those above clearance 0 may see it. Anyone who has no information about the Celestial Crucible will not be informed.]
Elian felt himself breathe a sigh of relief. His family had been hiding from debt collectors, so they were already off the grid. He had hoped that it would be enough to protect them. And if it wasn’t, he intended to get them back no matter the cost.
If they hurt even a hair on my parents’ heads, I will butcher them all.
A soft hand squeezed his, causing Elian to look up. Bianca’s voice echoed through his mind.
"You worry too much. Didn’t I tell you that I would protect them? Your parents are safe. I hid their information long before we even left the Red Ant Dungeon."
At Bianca’s words, Elian remembered the promise she had given him the first time she learned of his parents.
"You are incredibly loved, Elian. Do not worry. You’ve already given me everything. I’ll make sure your family never suffers again. The moment you became mine, they have earned my protection."
Just then, Bianca’s voice commented in satisfaction, "Yes, those were my exact words; you did well in remembering them. I have taken steps to protect them since then."
"Huh? How? Weren’t you with me the entire time? How would you have been able to do that?" Elian blurted out loud.
The woman leading him on twirled around and placed her finger on his lips. Then she placed her index finger to her mouth in a gesture of secrecy.
"You severely underestimate me, darling. System, tell Elian what my clearance rank is."
[Bianca Valestra’s clearance rank is Pseudo-5. So long as her requests do not conflict with the objectives of the crucible, her commands are at an admin level.]
What? Is that the case even without a Tyrant mark? How did you get such high clearance?
The witch enjoyed his reaction and called out, "System?"
[Bianca Valestra is the co-creator of the human interface nanomachines used by the System on Earth. She, together with Dr. Magnolia Dawson, is the reason why Earth managed to gain a system compatible with the Crucible. Their access is their reward.]
Elian gawked at Bianca in disbelief.
He knew she was amazing, but to think that she was a scientist on the level of Dr. Magnolia! His heart swelled with pride! His lover was among the ranks of those written in history books!
"Wow," he exclaimed.
Bianca, who knew just how heavy that single word from Elian was, smiled smugly. She then continued to brag about her achievement as they made their way to the bank.
"I used the students and the teacher you saved from Crestfall academy; I gave their nanomachines a hidden program. It was to find your real parents and make them win a small fortune. The program hired an underground hunter unit to hide them away."
"Hide them away?"
"Yes, I already knew that you would make waves in the future, so I hid your parents. It came in handy. I just received the reports; your friends and the Bloodright of conquest came for them."
"They—what?"
At that moment, a wave of pressure exploded from Elian. One so strong it, caused everyone in his vicinity to kneel to the ground in pain.
"Oy! Lunatic, cool it; the humans around you are going to die!"
"Son-in-law, please calm down; I am sure Bianca has already done something."
"Burny, keep an eye out. I’ll take the left."
"Understood, Sir Bastion, I will watch right."
Ignoring the words of those in their party, Elian’s brain began to think of the worst-case scenario. Having such high intelligence made him piece together a plan for how he would personally torture people for information.
And his stomach dropped at the idea of his parents having to experience such an ordeal.
I have been far too foolish in this. Of course, the loan sharks and the breakers operated in different ways. Wishfully hoping they wouldn’t get caught is stupid.
But before Elian’s mind could descend into absolute darkness, Bianca’s hand touched his cheek gently. "Elian, look at me," she said tenderly. "Your mother and father are safe. They were never in danger. I replaced them before anyone even knew to look."
"You replaced them?"
The woman before him nodded. There was not even a trace of doubt in her words, "I had them moved and changed their names in their records without them noticing. The ones taken by the Breakers are spies I hired. Your parents are fine."
A video suddenly appeared in Elian’s eyesight. His nanomachines played a video of his father reading the paper on a fancy-looking couch while his mother sat beside him reading a book. The video had a date stamp that was only a few hours ago.
His knees buckled. He grabbed her without thinking, burying his face in her shoulder.
"Thank you. Thank you so much, Bianca. I was far too stupid. I thought I had lost them."
Expecting his outburst, Bianca didn’t mind his affection and brushed his back. "There, there. You have nothing to worry about, darling. Anything you lack, I will make up for. So do not be afraid. We are a team. I am here with you."
Ignoring the passersby, relief surged through him as he held her even tighter. Bianca ears flushed at his embrace. Yet he didn’t let go.
Given that his body was formed using Heaven’s Fist as a template, Elian’s body was perfect. Tall, with muscles that looked chiseled from stone, on top of proportions worthy of demigods.
His relief caused the pressure he slammed in the area around him to vanish. The people he knocked out by accident began to wake up, dazed.
"Bianca, drag your lunatic away. We’re two minutes from a military lockdown."
At Fluffy’s observation, Bianca pulled Elian away toward the bank in high spirits. The dogs and the bird with them all sweated in nervousness as they left the scene.
"I’ll handle it. The footage won’t exist. Just walk."
Seeing her carefree nature, Elian stared at his lover in a daze. Every day with her dragged him deeper into light—and into madness. He didn’t mind either.
I am so lucky to have met you, Bianca.
Suddenly going red in the face, Bianca finally brought them inside the bank.
She slipped on a veiled wide-brim hat, pulled a sleek black card from Elian’s magic storage, and strode into the bank like she owned it.
The guards who tried to stop her were silenced when she showed them the cards in her hands. Rather than restrain her, they bowed and left their post to escort her. When the guards saw Elian, the dogs, and the bird, one of them gestured to them while asking.
"Are they part of your retinue, my lady?"
"Yes, they are my family." freёweɓnovel.com
"Understood," they acknowledged. The second guard positioned himself behind Bianca to guard the dogs. The first came in front of Bianca and shooed away the people.
Despite there being hundreds of people in the establishment, the guards guided Bianca’s party into the VIP area. The onlookers couldn’t help but comment.
"Who is that? The arrogant guards are actually escorting her?"
"I thought this bank had a no-pet policy! She has three dogs and a bird! How is that fair?"
"I heard about this. The guards only move for VVVIP people, meaning that woman has to have more than 1 billion crowns in this bank at a minimum."
Unaccustomed to the attention, the Wolfs of Fralhame and Burny stayed silent. Meanwhile, Elian came closer to Bianca to ask.
"Darling, isn’t this against the rules?"
To which Bianca simply scoffed, "Rules only apply to the poor, darling. In human society, with enough resources, rules bend or cease to exist altogether."
"Wow, how bold," he commented with a wry smile. "As expected of a rich lady."
Bianca stopped and her fingers traced along Elian’s cheek with reverence. "I have long wondered what point there was to amassing such fortunes. Now I do. Prepare yourself, darling. All of me—every last thing I own, every piece of power—it’s yours now."
"That’s... a lot, Bianca."
"I’ll spoil you so rotten, you’ll forget there was ever a world before me," she vowed.
