Naruto: I Have a Gravity Training Room-Chapter 445 - 443
The next day, naturally, they had to keep delivering invitations.
First, the two of them went to Kumogakure and handed invitations to A, Killer B, Darui, Samui, Atsui, and the others.
But Natsuki also asked about something else. "Raikage, what are you planning to do with the two broken legs of the Gedō Mazō (Demonic Statue of the Outer Path)?"
A was honestly a little troubled as well. "I haven't decided yet. The Gedō Mazō is the vessel of the Ten-Tails—this is a serious matter. Maybe it should be sent to Orochimaru for research."
"Orochimaru, huh…?"
Oh. He'd forgotten to write invitations for Orochimaru and Karin.
They'd been enemies before, sure, but that didn't mean they couldn't be invited.
"I do have an idea," Natsuki said. "I heard the Uchiha gunbai was made from part of the God Tree. Those broken legs are part of the God Tree too. If you use them to make ninja tools, they're bound to be extraordinary."
A's eyes lit up at once. "That's right! Hahaha—Natsuki, you really do have a way!"
Darui, of all people, suddenly offered a rare stroke of inspiration. "Boss, since the Gedō Mazō is the container for the tailed beasts and can absorb a massive amount of chakra… how about using it to make chakra batteries? Might increase capacity by a lot. And if the battery ends up being compatible, anyone could charge it for you later."
Natsuki, Tenten, and A all stared at Darui in surprise.
Well, damn.
So the lazy guy could actually think like this?
It made perfect sense. As the Ten-Tails' vessel, the Gedō Mazō had an absurd tolerance for chakra. It could absolutely boost a chakra battery's capacity by a huge margin—and if it could accommodate different chakra signatures, then anyone could use it.
That kind of thing had enormous strategic value.
As things stood now, chakra batteries were basically "charge it yourself, use it yourself," which came with heavy limitations. Once a war started, you couldn't spare much chakra at all. When a battery ran dry, you often couldn't refill it.
But if they could develop a new battery from the Gedō Mazō's broken legs, they could have genin assigned to charge them—hell, even disabled shinobi who couldn't take missions anymore could be paid to charge batteries. That would both solve livelihood problems and solve the charging hassle in one go.
A immediately decided, "I'll arrange for some of the leg material to be sent to Orochimaru for research. And we'll have craftsmen start on new ninja tools too!"
Natsuki laughed. "Raikage, remember—if you get new batteries and new ninja tools, the Alliance shares. Don't even think about hoarding it."
A snorted. "With freaks like you Konoha people around, you think I dare hoard anything? You still have more invitations to deliver, right? Then hurry up and go!"
This guy—he wasn't even going to keep them for dinner?
Don't tell him the celebration banquet wiped out all the beef.
After Natsuki and Tenten left, A immediately summoned everyone to discuss what gift they should prepare.
Natsuki was the strongest person in the shinobi world. They had to stay on good terms. And honestly, everyone's relationship with Natsuki and Tenten wasn't bad—so the gift had to be excellent.
A insisted on premium beef. Killer B wanted to gift a brand-new rap. Everyone else racked their brains in misery.
Meanwhile, Natsuki and Tenten had already arrived in Sunagakure. They delivered invitations to Gaara, Temari, and Kankurō. And because of Chiyo's behalf, they also delivered an extra invitation.
They were close enough that there was no need for nonsense. All three of them would definitely come.
After that, they went to Iwagakure. Ōnoki, Kurotsuchi, Akatsuchi, and Kitsuchi all received invitations too. Natsuki didn't have much to say to Ōnoki, either.
But after Natsuki and Tenten left, Ōnoki kept staring at his granddaughter. After a long while, he let out a faint, haunted sigh—like he was regretting something. Kurotsuchi got so irritated her forehead veins nearly popped.
Then it was the Land of Water. Mei, Chōjūrō, and Ao all got their invitations.
Mei, however, stared at the invitation, then stared at Natsuki and Tenten holding hands, and the jealousy was vicious.
She grabbed Natsuki's shoulder with both hands and demanded, "Natsuki—do you have any friends who like older women? Introduce me! I want to get married too!"
Natsuki went slack-jawed.
How desperate are you?!
Tenten hurried to intervene. "Mizukage, Konoha has a ton of single guys around your age—Kakashi-sensei, Aoba-sensei, Gai-sensei, Genma-senpai, Raido-senpai, and so on. They're all outstanding jōnin, and they're all single. You're beautiful—if you're willing to take the initiative, someone will definitely say yes!"
"Really?" Mei's eyes lit up.
"Really! That's how it is!" Tenten blurted.
Then she immediately rescued her husband, said a quick goodbye, and used Hiraishin no Jutsu (Flying Thunder God Technique) to whisk the two of them away.
She was genuinely afraid Mei might get too jealous and, in a moment of weakness, try to snatch her husband.
After that, the two of them went to the Land of Iron to see Mifune, then on to Takigakure and Amegakure.
Takigakure was for Shibuki and Fū. Since Fū was no longer a jinchūriki, she wasn't ostracized or treated coldly anymore. These days she lived happily in the village.
She still contacted Chōmei, the Seven-Tails, from time to time, though. Supposedly Chōmei had wandered off to travel—drifting all over the place without a fixed destination.
When she heard Natsuki and Tenten were getting married, Fū patted her flat chest and promised she would definitely attend, and that she'd give the most sincere gift.
As for Amegakure, the main person they needed to see was Konan.
After the summary conference ended, Konan decided to return to the Land of Rain and focus on rebuilding the country properly.
Because Konan had contributed six hundred billion explosive tags during the war—and had made countless efforts in other ways as well—everyone discussed allocating a massive amount of supplies to her, both as reimbursement for the explosive tags and as a reward.
It was an enormous stockpile, enough for the people of the Land of Rain to live on for a hundred years.
And once the grand alliance was established, the Land of Rain would also receive aid from the great nations. They would sign a trade agreement with the Land of Wind as well, selling off the surplus water that the Land of Rain couldn't possibly use up. Even if the unit price was low, the Land of Wind needed such huge volumes that it would still be enough to keep the Land of Rain's relatively small population fed and clothed.
Most importantly, without war grinding it into the mud, the Land of Rain would only get better.
When Konan learned Natsuki and Tenten were getting married, she actually smiled—rare for her—and offered her congratulations, saying she would definitely attend.
But after they left, Konan grew troubled again.
She didn't know what to give them to properly express her feelings.
She could use Shikigami no Mai (Dance of the Shikigami) to make beautiful flowers, but her flowers were white, and that wasn't suitable for a wedding.
"…Then I'll research how to dye paper with colors. I have to make brilliant, multicolored flowers!"
And so everyone ended up busy—everyone struggling over gifts.
Natsuki and Tenten also wrote a few extra invitations and delivered them to Orochimaru's new laboratory. Orochimaru, Guren, Suigetsu, Karin, and Jūgo all received one.
They even ran into Yūkimaru there—apparently he and Guren were getting along pretty well.
So Natsuki wrote an invitation for Yūkimaru on the spot, and Yūkimaru was so happy he practically bounced.
Orochimaru, on the other hand, just stared at his invitation in a daze. He probably never expected that Natsuki and Tenten would invite a villain like him to their wedding.
