Natsuki had originally been about to use Hiraishin (Flying Thunder God) to blink away, but the moment he heard that, he immediately thought of Tenten.

So he said right away, "If we're doing hanami, I'll bring Tenten with me."

Tsunade shot him an approving look. "You brat, you really do dote on your wife. Tenten's months along now. Keeping her mood up is important. Staying cooped up in the hospital all the time isn't good either. She should get out, walk around, and move a bit."

"Then I'm going." Natsuki vanished on the spot. He still had to prepare more things, after all. Pregnant women weren't easy to take care of.

Naruto grinned excitedly. "Heh heh, hanami sounds great! Should we call the others too? Sakura should be off work by now. And Shizune-onee-san, and Tonton too."

Sasuke and Neji, of course, had no objections.

But Neji's face was still dark. This little blond idiot was still hung up on Sakura and didn't notice Hinata's downcast eyes at all.

Because everything had diverged so completely from canon, Hinata had never managed to gather the courage to confess to Naruto. And Naruto, with that personality of his, hadn't noticed her feelings at all. He was still stuck on Sakura.

It made Neji furious.

On top of that, Neji was even more irritated at Sasuke, because Hanabi had called Sasuke "Sasuke-nii-san" first, and only after that had she called Neji "Neji-nii-san."

That meant she'd put Sasuke ahead of him as a "big brother"!

Obviously, after Sasuke had saved her last time, and even carried her in a princess hold, Hanabi had gotten completely bewitched by that guy.

This was extremely bad.

And Neji couldn't even stop it.

Damn it. Evil Uchiha brat.

Before long, the group arrived beneath the cherry blossom trees. As the breeze blew and petals drifted down in a soft storm, the exhaustion from days of work seemed to wash away in an instant.

Hinata and Hanabi hurried to spread out the picnic blanket.

Since it was hanami, most of what they'd brought were sweets. After all, sugar made people happier.

Hashirama immediately locked onto one particular treat, grabbed one, and stuffed it into his mouth. His face turned blissful as he chewed. "Mmm! As expected, sakuramochi is amazing. Did you little ones make this yourselves? Hahahaha! Not bad. You'll all make great brides someday!"

Hinata, Hanabi, and Temari all flushed red at once.

"Bride" was a painfully embarrassing word for girls their age.

Hanabi, being bolder, smiled. "If the First Hokage likes it, that's great. Everyone, come try some too. Eating sweets while looking at blossoms makes your mood even better, you know!"

No one held back. They all sat down, picked out cookies they liked, and ate while watching petals fall like snow. Smiles crept onto everyone's faces.

Temari even selected a few sakuramochi and offered them to Shikamaru, her cheeks bright red. "Th-these… I made them. They might not taste good."

Shikamaru accepted them, just as red, and immediately shoved one into his mouth. "They're really good! You're amazing at this!"

"R-really? Th-then… that's good."

"Heh… heh heh…"

Shikamaru scratched his head. Temari lowered hers. Both of them were so flushed they might as well have shoved everyone else away with the sheer weight of their puppy love.

Seeing that, Hinata took a deep breath. She was just about to gather the courage to offer Naruto the sakuramochi she'd made, when Sakura's voice rang out the next second.

"Hey! So this is where you all are!"

"Sakura's here!" Naruto, the devoted simp, immediately dashed over and started wagging his tail around her.

Hinata's shoulders drooped in disappointment.

And Sakura's gaze, meanwhile, never left Sasuke.

When she saw Sasuke eating the cookies Hanabi handed him, Sakura nearly ground her teeth to dust. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Unbelievable. Unbelievable!

She, Haruno Sakura, had guarded against everything and everyone, but she hadn't noticed that Hinata's little sister was a sneaky kitten. Without anyone realizing, she'd already gotten that close to Sasuke-kun.

Everyone watched the scene unfold and silently enjoyed the show.

Young people's messy love lives were not something the older generation should interfere with.

Watching from the sidelines was far more entertaining.

Shizune came too, along with Tonton, Yakumo, Koharu, Tomoya, Lee, Chōji, Ino, Sai, and others. They must've all just gotten off work. The moment they heard, they hurried over.

It was rare for the higher-ups to relax. Of course everyone came to keep them company.

And they brought plenty of things: sweets, snacks, drinks, and even ninja-killing cards and playing cards. Before long, it was lively and loud.

Whoosh. Natsuki arrived with Tenten and her dad.

Yakumo and Koharu immediately came over and helped Tenten sit down.

Seeing Tenten's big belly, the girls couldn't hide their envy. They quickly gathered around her and started chatting.

They asked what pregnancy felt like, since they'd all go through it someday and wanted to understand it properly. When they heard how difficult it really was, every last one of them sighed with feeling.

Yeah. The birth of life was never simple.

And precisely because of that, every new life was precious.

And that was why it made people so happy.

Natsuki had also brought a lot of food. Plenty of sweets and snacks, and even meat. He'd even prepared alcohol for the three older men. If they were going to do hanami, they might as well eat well.

Of course, the most important part was all the food Tenten liked.

Seeing Tenten chatting happily with her friends, Natsuki finally relaxed.

Ever since she'd moved into the hospital, she hadn't seen her friends as often. Everyone was busy. Even when they visited her, it was rushed. A few words, then they were gone.

Tenten understood, so she told them not to come too frequently.

But going that long without seeing friends still made her bored.

Now, with beautiful scenery around her and all her favorite people to talk to, she was genuinely happy.

"…Oh, right. I heard Hanabi's eyes have already recovered."

Tenten stared at Hanabi's Byakugan. "Those eyes once evolved into the Tenseigan, didn't they? Can you control it properly now?"

Everyone else looked at Hanabi too, just as curious.

If Hanabi could successfully regain a Tenseigan evolution, she'd absolutely reach Kage-level and beyond. One step further, and she could reach Six Paths level like Neji.

For Konoha, and for the shinobi world, it would be an enormous blessing.

It would mean the future had one more pillar of hope.

Hanabi's eyes changed right then. A faint blue glow spread through them, but the blue vanished almost immediately.

Still, what everyone saw was enough to make them excited and envious.

Hanabi gave an embarrassed smile. "Right now I've only figured out a few tricks. I'm still far from it. Orochimaru analyzed it for me too. Since this Tenseigan has degraded, the ocular power is severely lacking. So I'll only be able to achieve another evolution after my strength reaches a certain point. And even if I fail then, I can absorb some ocular power from that giant Tenseigan to trigger the evolution again. He told me to just focus on improving and not put pressure on myself."
