Necromancer: I Am A Disaster-Chapter 537: I Won’t Hold Him Back
One God-level powerhouse after another appeared, their overwhelming might drawing gasps of awe.
Everyone watching dreamed of one day reaching that same realm.
Perhaps a couple among them might succeed, but most would fade into obscurity.
No matter how gifted, no matter how much their families and loved ones believed in them, no one could predict their final path.
After all, only a rare few could truly ascend to God-level.
Two streaks of light tore across the sky.
Lin Moyu looked up and smiled.
Bai Yiyuan had returned, accompanied by the beautiful middle-aged woman.
“Teacher, you’re back.” Lin Moyu said with a smile.
“Mm.” Bai Yiyuan’s expression was slightly awkward.
The middle-aged woman turned to Lin Moyu, “So you’re Yiyuan’s disciple. Moyu, right?”
Lin Moyu’s eyes flickered, “Greetings, Teacher’s Wife.”
Bai Yiyuan’s brow twitched, but he didn’t object.
The woman laughed with delight, “Good, good! Such a sweet child. I didn’t prepare anything, so here, take this as a meeting gift.”
She pressed something into his hands.
Lin Moyu was caught off guard by her enthusiasm.
Not wanting to appear rude by refusing a gift from an elder, he accepted it without hesitation.
He had called her “teacher’s wife” for a reason.
Both she and Bai Yiyuan carried each other’s auras, woven so tightly they were nearly indistinguishable.
Clearly, something had transpired between them, and his gamble on the title had paid off.
Bai Yiyuan said, “Her name is Zhu Qingliu, a level 94 God-level Healer.”
Lin Moyu was secretly stunned. God-level Healers existed in the empire, but they were exceedingly rare.
He uttered respectfully, “Greetings, Teacher’s Wife Qingliu.” 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Zhu Qingliu beamed, delighted by being called "teacher’s wife" again and again, “Such a good child!”
Bai Yiyuan could only watch, helpless.
Ning Tairan and several old men strolled over, grinning.
“Congratulations, Old Bai. You’ve found yourself a fine lady.”
Bai Yiyuan scowled, “Get lost, you geezers! Don’t you have anything better to do?”
They ignored him, turning to Zhu Qingliu.
“Congratulations, Willow Goddess [1]. You finally won over Old Bai.”
Zhu Qingliu smiled radiantly, “Thank you! I’ll host a wedding banquet in a few days.”
“Great, we’ll be there.”
“Don’t think about skimping on the gifts.”
“Of course, of course!”
Suddenly, a tower phantom shimmered into the sky.
Lin Moyu’s eyes narrowed, “Teacher Meng is here.”
With a rush of wind, a host of women took to the sky, every one of them strikingly beautiful.
In their youth, each would have been considered a peerless beauty, no less stunning than Mo Yun.
Bai Yiyuan smirked, “See? All of them are Old Meng’s lovers. If he agreed, you’d have a dozen more teacher’s wives right now.”
Lin Moyu grinned. “That means I’d get a dozen gifts.”
Bai Yiyuan’s mouth twitched, “You greedy brat.”
“Good luck, Teacher.” Lin Moyu chuckled.
Bai Yiyuan raised a brow, “Good luck with what?”
“Good luck giving me a little junior brother or sister.”
“Get lost!” Bai Yiyuan snapped, nearly smacking him in irritation.
Lin Moyu examined the gift Zhu Qingliu had given him.
[God-level Healing Talisman: a talisman imbued with God-level healing spells. It can be used repeatedly until its energy is depleted.]
“What an incredible item!”
Delight flickered across his face. This was a true lifesaving treasure, capable of restoring even severed limbs in an instant.
Lin Moyu knew how rare such talismans were.
A God-level Alchemist had to craft the blank talisman, and then a God-level Healer had to imbue it with healing spells.
The process took a toll on the Healer, which was why such talismans were usually made only for loved ones.
To possess one was like carrying several extra lives.
Sensing its energy, Lin Moyu judged it still had a dozen uses left.
He hadn’t expected Zhu Qingliu to give him such a priceless gift. This teacher’s wife seemed like a kind and generous person.
Above, the Shenxia Tower phantom continued to shimmer, Meng Anwen still nowhere in sight.
Lin Moyu walked up to Ning Yiyi, “Yiyi, this is for you.”
For him, the talisman was of little use.
If he ever needed it, his situation would likely be beyond saving.
But for Ning Yiyi, it could mean survival.
She froze, then gasped upon recognizing it, “A God-level Healing Talisman!”
Hastily, she tried to hand it back, “I can’t accept this. You should keep it.”
Lin Moyu pressed it back into her hands, “It’s wasted on me. With you keeping it, I’ll have peace of mind. Be good and listen.”
“Oh!” Ning Yiyi responded cheerfully, putting the talisman away.
Satisfied, Lin Moyu smiled, “You guys keep chatting.”
He strolled aside, tilting his gaze skyward.
A spectacle was about to unfold, and he was curious to see how the ever-composed Teacher Meng would handle it.
Considering even Bai Yiyuan had struggled against a single woman, Meng Anwen was bound for a headache.
The thought amused Lin Moyu.
Ning Yiyi watched his back, her eyes soft.
Mo Yun murmured, “I can’t believe he gave that to you as well.”
“He’s worried I might be in danger.” Ning Yiyi replied.
Shu Han added gently, “Junior Lin treats you very well.”
A blush colored Ning Yiyi’s cheeks. She knew it better than anyone.
Mo Yun leaned closer, whispering, “You can’t keep holding him back.”
“I know.” Ning Yiyi said firmly.
“I may not be much help to him, but at the very least, I can’t be a burden.”
“From now on, I’ll level up on my own. It may be slower and harder… but I won’t hold him back.”
The gap in their levels was widening, and she knew Lin Moyu’s pace would only grow faster.
She couldn’t keep clinging to him, relying on him to carry her through dungeons.
That would only drag him down.
Mo Yun said, “His enemies keep getting stronger. If he doesn’t keep leveling, one day he’ll face an opponent he can’t handle.”
Shu Han’s voice was soft, “Junior Lin has his own path, and it’s different from ours.”
“Everyone’s path is different!” Mo Yun added.
Ning Yiyi clenched her fists, “I have my own path too. Grandfather said that if I follow it to the end, I’ll be amazing.”
Shu Han giggled, “Our little Yiyi has always been amazing.”
Moments later, the Shenxia Tower phantom in the sky solidified.
And then, the dashing, elegant Meng Anwen appeared in midair.
With the Shenxia Tower behind him, he shone like a blazing star.
His aura swept across the heavens, so powerful it stunned the crowd.
Gasps rose from below. Even without a dramatic entrance, Meng Anwen’s presence radiated overwhelming pressure.
“Serene God—it's really Serene God!”
“So strong… the sole dual-class, dual-God-level powerhouse. Truly unmatched.”
“He surpasses every God-level we've ever seen.”
“Why do I feel like the Shenxia Tower is just a backdrop for him now?”
The crowd was in awe at Meng Anwen’s overwhelming power.
Even the other God-level powerhouses were shaken.
Ning Tairan muttered, “Unbelievable… he reached high-level God-level before us.”
“Level 96… I’m so jealous.” Sword God Feng Chang’an muttered.
Sword qi flared around him, his fighting spirit igniting, “I’d love to test myself against Old Meng.”
Bai Yiyuan snorted, “Forget it. Fighting him is the dullest thing in the world.”
Feng Chang’an’s fighting spirit vanished, “True… it’s no fun when you can’t even find your opponent.”
As Meng Anwen appeared, the beautiful women who had soared into the sky earlier swarmed toward him like bees to nectar.
The crowd below waited, anticipating a spectacle.
But in an instant, the women scattered. Not one lingered.
Meng Anwen passed through their ranks like a breeze through blossoms—without a single petal clinging to him.
He descended with effortless grace, leaving the entire crowd utterly stunned.
