Necromancer: I Am A Disaster-Chapter 605: Long Time No See, Little Antares
The Dragon Jade–paved path finally reached its end.
The mist dispersed, and the view opened wide.
Inside the palace, a second structure came into sight.
It was a massive circular platform, roughly a hundred meters in diameter and about five meters high, also paved with Dragon Jade.
The quality of the Dragon Jade here was clearly superior, each slab nearly a meter long and wide, and the law force contained within it was even more astonishing.
Lin Moyu had already been shocked by Dragon Jade before. He attempted to use Detection, but gained nothing.
The spell couldn’t identify what Dragon Jade was.
But the energy within it was real, and Lin Moyu knew he wasn’t mistaken.
From his understanding, anything capable of containing law force was a mythical-grade treasure.
And yet here, such priceless material was used merely to pave a path and construct a platform.
Compared to the colossal palace, the circular platform, though noble and imposing, was not particularly large.
Just as Lin Moyu was about to step onto it, a terrifying aura descended.
His vision blurred, and in the next instant, a Dragon appeared upon the platform.
Not an ordinary Dragon, but the kind from his memories: a Huaxia Divine Dragon.
Over two hundred meters in length, coiled atop the platform, head slightly raised, staring directly at him.
Under that gaze, Lin Moyu felt a chill wash over him, as though he were being targeted by some unfathomable existence.
He understood clearly: if the other party wished to kill him, a single thought would suffice. There would be no need to raise a claw.
The gap in their strength was far too great.
Lin Moyu couldn’t even judge who was stronger—the Dragon before him, or Antares.
“Could this be a Transcendent God–level powerhouse?”
He was certain of one thing: this being was far stronger than the Dragon Emperor and the Demon Emperor, who were half-step Transcendent God–level existences.
There was simply no comparison.
The Divine Dragon remained silent, staring at Lin Moyu. Lin Moyu, likewise, said nothing.
He was not timid. He met the Divine Dragon’s gaze without wavering.
After a full ten breaths of silence, the Divine Dragon finally spoke: “Your soul carries the scent of my kind.”
Lin Moyu was startled and instinctively thought of the aura left behind from killing Dragonkind.
But a moment later, he realized that wasn’t it.
“Huaxia Divine Dragon… Dragon descendant!”
A flash of lightning crossed his mind as he grasped a possibility.
Before he could speak, the Divine Dragon’s voice sounded again: “Your ancestors must have some connection with our Dragon race. The soul and bloodline of your ancestors were tinged with the aura of my kind.”
“However, too many generations have passed. The aura in your soul is now exceedingly faint, almost undetectable.”
At that moment, Lin Moyu was completely certain.
The Divine Dragon was referring to who he had been before transmigrating.
What had transmigrated was his soul, and the aura mentioned lay within that soul.
In an instant, Lin Moyu understood many things. The other party was terrifyingly powerful, but held no killing intent toward him.
The dread he felt came purely from the overwhelming difference in strength.
Lin Moyu finally spoke, “May I ask how I should address you?”
The Divine Dragon ignored the question and continued: “Besides your soul, your body also carries the aura of my race. It seems you have encountered my kind before.”
All of a sudden, the scale of Antares in Lin Moyu’s pocket flew out on its own.
Lin Moyu had no idea how it was done.
This scale was his life-saving trump card, yet he could only watch as it drifted away.
It wasn’t that he didn’t dare to move. He simply couldn’t.
An invisible force bound him completely.
Only then did Lin Moyu truly understand how terrifying a gap in power could be.
He hadn’t even felt this kind of helplessness two years ago, after his class awakening when he met Bai Yiyuan.
The Divine Dragon before him was far more dreadful.
Lin Moyu now believed this was the Dragon God spoken of by other Dragons.
The scale of Antares floated before the Divine Dragon and began to shine faintly.
The Divine Dragon activated it, and Antares’ voice echoed from within: “Brat, did you get it done?”
Lin Moyu gave a bitter smile, “No.”
“Oh, it’s you!” The Divine Dragon said.
“What the—?! Why are you awake?!” A startled cry came from the scale.
The Divine Dragon chuckled, “I just happened to wake up.”
Two beams of golden light burst from his eyes and shot into the scale, which immediately blazed with dazzling brilliance.
The scale glowed, and a phantom projection emerged.
Lin Moyu recognized it instantly. It was Antares.
At first, he saw the familiar massive head. But then he froze.
This time, it wasn’t just the head. Antares appeared in full form.
Previously, only his head had ever shown. His body had always remained hidden.
Antares, too, was in the form of a Huaxia Divine Dragon.
No, not exactly.
Compared to the Divine Dragon before him, Antares had an extra pair of wings, like those of a typical Dragon.
Those wings created a fundamental difference.
The Divine Dragon was majestic, powerful, and perfectly harmonious in beauty.
Antares possessed a similar aura, but the wings slightly disturbed the balance, giving him a faintly uncoordinated look.
The Divine Dragon spoke lightly: “Long time no see, little Antares.”
Little Antares…
Lin Moyu felt an inexplicable urge to laugh.
Antares, who had lived for who knew how long, was being called “little.”
Clearly, the Divine Dragon before him was far more ancient.
Antares did not retort. Instead, with faint respect in his voice, he said: “Long time no see, Lord Dragon God.”
So the other party truly was the Dragon God.
Lin Moyu’s heart trembled.
And from Antares’ tone, it was clear he had no desire at all to encounter this being.
Coincidentally, the Dragon God had awakened. Lin Moyu had simply arrived at the worst possible moment.
He could almost feel Antares’ mood: aggrieved, stifled, and unwilling.
The Dragon God spoke, “Little Antares, after so many years, are you still blaming me?”
Antares shook his head, “I wouldn’t dare.”
“Heh heh.” The Dragon God chuckled, “It’s not that you don’t blame me. You just don’t dare.”
Antares hesitated, then said, “Then… let’s say I don’t blame you.”
The subtext was clear: You are the Dragon God. You are awesome. Whatever you say goes.”
The Dragon God did not pursue the matter. Instead, it asked, “You had this human kid enter the Dragon King Palace to retrieve your two Dragon Beads, correct?”
“That’s right.” Antares admitted.
“Out of the sixteen Dragon Beads, how many have you recovered?”
“Ten. Including the two you hold, that makes twelve.” Antares replied honestly.
“And the remaining four?”
Antares shook his head, “I have suspicions, but no certainty.”
The Dragon God sighed deeply, “Back then… I had no choice…”
Antares’s phantom folded its large ears shut, clearly refusing to hear the explanation.
The Dragon God fell silent and did not continue, only letting out a long, heavy sigh.
“I will allow this human kid to take your Dragon Beads back.”
“Perhaps… we will not meet again. Take care of yourself.”
Antares’s ears twitched slightly, but he said nothing.
Lin Moyu sensed the unusual weight behind those words. The relationship between them was clearly far from simple.
The light on the scale faded, and it flew back into Lin Moyu’s pocket.
The invisible restraint around him vanished, and his body felt light once more.
Then he heard a long sigh, like that of an old man, tinged with reluctance.
Two Dragon Beads appeared before the Dragon God. They carried Antares’s aura.
They flew straight into Lin Moyu’s hands. He immediately took out a box, sealed them inside, and stored it away.
This was not a moment to hesitate. If the Dragon God changed his mind, he had no hope of resisting.
No matter the reason, this was the best possible outcome.
“Thank you, Lord Dragon God.” Lin Moyu said sincerely.
“These belonged to Antares from the beginning.” The Dragon God replied, “Return them to him.”
“I will deliver them personally.” Lin Moyu promised.
“I can see you and Antares get along well.” The Dragon God said, “You should be his friend.” 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
“Yes.” Lin Moyu admitted.
The Dragon God chuckled softly, “Little Antares actually has a friend… It seems you are special.”
Lin Moyu said nothing. He understood that he should not probe into the relationship between the Dragon God and Antares.
Some things could be asked. Some could not.
Asking the wrong thing could cost one’s life.
The less one knew, the longer one lived.
Though curious by nature, Lin Moyu was no fool.
He changed the subject, “Lord Dragon God, may I ask what my next trial is?”
The Dragon God shook his head, “No need. Your trial is already passed.”
Lin Moyu froze in surprise. He had prepared himself for a fierce battle, yet it was already over?
There had to be more to it. And it likely had something to do with Antares.
