Chapter 645: Worries about shaking legs

"Are you sure you can work today?" Heiren asked Coco for the nth time, eyebrows furrowed in worry.

Despite Coco feeling her legs quake under her weight, she still insisted that she can stand up and walk herself to the guild so she can work.

Unfortunately, Heiren and the other four residents of the house are as stubborn as her.

"Why are you even asking her?" Zaque grumbled and stomped his way over to the front door where Coco is currently at. "Just force her to stay in bed today and tell that new boss of yours that she’s sick."

Zaque reached out to grab Coco, but she was fast enough to evade his outstretched hand.

"No way." Coco frowned and forced herself out of the door, making Zaque and others gasp in horror when she did so. "I want to work, so I’m going to work! Just because I got fucked so good to the point I can’t walk properly doesn’t mean I can’t work!"

"Coco—"

"No, Heiren!" Coco interrupted the second husband before he could say his second word, only to trip and fall backward.

Coco’s heart dropped to her stomach when she felt gravity pull her down, but her body collided with another body— warm and soft, with a pair of hands catching her by gripping her upper torso.

"Goodness, Coco." Came a familiar voice from behind. "You gotta be careful with where you’re going."

"Renaldo!" Heiren gasped, his voice sounding incredibly relieved upon seeing the scarred mediator catch his wife. "Perfect timing! Thank you for catching her!"

"No problem." Renaldo stated, smiling softly towards his friend’s husbands. "Buf if I may ask, what seems to be the problem? Why are you all huddled on the front door? Is there a special occasion or something?"

Coco huffed and struggled on Renaldo’s grip. The mediator noticed that she wanted to get off him, so he reluctantly did so, but he let his hands hover in the air.

Coco seemed like she wasn’t feeling well and might collapse any second. As a good friend, he will try to catch just in case she collapses again.

"There’s no social occasion or whatsoever." Coco sighed and turned around, eyes looking directly at Renaldo’s. "But they didn’t want me to go to the guild just because I couldn’t feel my legs."

Now, sharing this kind of thing was frowned upon in her previous world, but she didn’t have any friends back on Earth so she wasn’t sure if it was that taboo to talk about— on the other hand, talks like this seemed to be a little normal in this world.

Considering what Alhai said before, mediators let their parents know that they had slept with their significant other.

So it should be fine, right..? Coco wondered, feeling a little anxious all of a sudden.

"Couldn’t feel your legs?" Renaldo repeated, eyebrows furrowing, then his eyes travelled down to Coco’s legs and on the way down, he caught sight of a line mark on her neck.

He was confused a second ago, but upon seeing that reddish mark made him realize what she was talking about.

"Oh." Renaldo blinked, quickly averting his gaze from her skin. "A-Anyway, Jonathan and I are free today. Zaque told us to come back last night because you weren’t feeling well and it seems like you’re still not feeling alright—"

"Stay here!" Zaque exclaimed, pushing past his friends and grabbing Coco. "Accompany her, okay? Call Jonathan and have him come over as well."

"What—"

"I’ll have the lunch ready in a bit, Renaldo!" Heiren called over his friends’ shoulders before he turned in his heels and ran back inside the kitchen to do some quick cooking.

Coco groaned, letting Zaque her towards the purple eyed hybrid. "Are you guys serious right now?"

"Yes." Kairo answered and grabbed Coco, his hand sliding down her back to pull her close to him. "You have to take care of yourself, too. Look at your husbands worrying about you, but you’re acting like it’s nothing."

Coco blinked and looked up at the hybrid. "Are you worried about me, too?"

"I am." Kairo sighed, dragging her back inside the house and leading her to the living room. "I have to go to the guild with Heiren. Alhai had to go to the library and Zaque still had work in an hour. You have no one to stay here with you."

Coco’s heart fluttered at the blatant show of worry, her cheeks becoming a little warm.

"I feel relieved that Renaldo showed up." Kairo continued, guiding her towards the couch. "At least him and Jonathan can stay with you for the day."

"O-Oh.." Coco mumbled, letting Kairo sit her down on the soft cushion.

"Your mother will be returning today as well." Kairo added and kneeled in front of her, his hands sliding into hers to caress her palm with his thumbs. "But still, I get worried at the thought of leaving you here without your husbands or me."

Once again, Coco felt her heart thrum inside her ribcage, as if she was experiencing falling in love all over again.

She had felt this exact same sensation with the mediators and if her memory proves her right, she also felt this back then with Kairo— which is why she was adamant on shutting him down and Rey’s wishes for her to marry Kairo.

She was worried that she would hurt Zaque and the others, so she chose to push Kairo and Rey away, but her husbands went ahead to welcome the hybrid to their little family.

"Thanks." Coco breathed out, her pulse loud in her ears. "I’m sorry for being a pain in the ass."

She was seriously apologizing and Kairo could tell, but her choice of words made him let out an undignified snort.

"If you’re into that kind of thing, then I don’t mind you being a pain in my ass." Kairo commented.

Coco blinked owlishly. "Huh?"

"Nothing." Kairo hummed and flashed her a smile. "Anyway, please be good."
