Chapter 680: An embarrassing question

"This feels great." Quizen mumbled, lowering himself further into the warm water until his lips were submerged.

"I agree." Kairo hummed, throwing his head back at the edge of the ridiculously wide bathtub.

Well, they couldn’t even tell if it was a bathtub or not due to its size that managed to make the five of them fit— and if they wanted to, they were able to swim around a little.

Since Alhai and Heiren had left the washing room, the space inside the water became wider.

Zaque sighed softly, letting his back rest against the wall of the tub before relaxing his whole body and felt the satisfaction of his muscles losing their tension.

"I have never bathed in warm water before." Zaque groaned, lolling his head to the side.

"Me, too." Quizen agreed and rolled his shoulders. "The water feels so good against my body.. Maybe something to drink would be good after this."

"Something warm?" Kairo asked, absentmindedly trying to prolong the conversation.

"Or maybe something cold?" Zaque chuckled and decided to join the conversation, eyes skimming past the water to settle on Quizen.

"Maybe both?" Quizen answered, shrugging his shoulders. "They both sound good."

Kairo and Zaque hummed, thinking about what would be best to drink after the bathing, but Quizen asked a follow up question.

"How about milk?"

The two froze for a moment before Kairo nodded. "That sounds heavenly. It’s worth a shot. It’s not like we’ll lose something trying what’s best after this."

"I agree." Zaque laughed, the water rippling around him. "I’ll ask mother mother after this."

"Sounds like a plan." Quizen stated, delighted.

The washing room became quiet after that, the mediators and hybrid finding no strength to continue the conversation any longer.

The three of them let themselves enjoy the warm water, not bothering to hide their contentment.

Splash, splash, splash.

The silence was broken by the fourth husband, making the other two look at his direction with furrowed eyebrows.

"What are you doing, Quizen?" Zaque asked, his tone sounding a little upset.

"Something just popped up in my mind." The mediator answered and swam close to Zaque’s spot, making the red haired mediator flinch and try to slide away from his friend.

"Don’t go closer." Zaque warned, eyes narrowing. "I don’t know what you’re planning, but don’t dare do it."

"You’re so untrusting." Quizen grumbled, glaring.

"Yes, but only because I know you’re planning something devious right now." Zaque hissed, but the tone wasn’t that offensive for Quizen.

"Whatever." The blue haired mediator rolled his eyes and made his way towards Kairo instead. "I was going to ask Kairo something. I wanted to sit next to you, but you have to be so rude about it.".

Kairo blinked and nodded his head to acknowledge Quizen as the mediator settled beside him.

"What do you want to ask me?" The hybrid inquired, the corner of his lips twitching up into a small smile, hoping that such a sight would make the mediator become more comfortable by his side.

They will be both husbands soon so he wanted to create a friendlier relationship between them and by doing so, he needed to let Quizen feel comfortable.

"Nothing serious." Quizen hummed and leaned his back against the tub’s wall. "Just about whether you want to do Coco soon or not."

Kairo blinked, the words not fully registering in his mind, but Zaque gasped and slammed his hand on the water.

"Quizen!" Zaque hissed, making Quizen roll his eyes again.

"What now?" Quizen huffed, smacking the water as well. "It’s not like you’re the one I’m asking, aren’t I? Don’t be too upright. You’re going to make Kairo afraid of you."

"Excuse me?" Zaque frowned.

While the two were busy arguing, Kairo stared into the water and let the question sink into his brain and once it did..

His face became hot— so hot that it made his skin look as red as a tomato, capturing Zaque’s attention because his color stood out from the washing room’s white walls and floors.

"Looo at what you did." The first husband growled. "You made Kairo feel embarrassed!"

Quizen’s head whipped around to look at Kairo’s state and he almost burst out laughing at the sight that greeted him.

"Looking good." Quizen snorted, nudging the hybrid with his elbow.

"Stop asking embarrassing questions!" Zaque scolded his friend and stomped his way over to the spot, his hand colliding at Quizen’s bicep which earned him a hiss of pain.

"Ow!" Quizen cried out, pulling his arm back from Zaque. "Did you have to hit me? That hurts!"

"As it should." Zaque hissed and pushed Quizen away from Kairo. "Sit somewhere else! You’re making Kairo uncomfortable!"

"I only asked him if he wanted to bed our wife!" Quizen whined, rubbing the sore spot on his skin and shot his friend a frown. "There’s nothing asking such things when I know that you were eager to be bedded by her!"

It was Zaque’s turn to become red this time.

"You and your mouth!" Zaque grumbled, massaging his temples to get rid of the upcoming headache. "This and that are different things, okay? So, you better shut it."

"I didn’t even say anything wrong." Quizen sighed, but did as he was told.

He turned away from Kairo and Zaque, his arms crossing in front of him as he brought his knees up to his chest, letting his feet rest against the stair he’s currently sitting on.

Zaque shook his head and looked at Kairo. "Forgive this fool for asking that."

Quizen scoffed and Zaque ignored it, continuing his words instead. "Putting that aside.. How about sleeping on the bed with us tonight? We already agreed that Alhai and Heiren will be sleeping beside Coco."

"I-I’m fine sleeping wherever." Kairo stuttered, trying his best to shake off the question from his brain.

Zaque smiled. "Sleep beside me tonight then. I don’t want to put you between me and Quizen because who knows what this fool may say."
