No Substitutes for the Bigshots' Dream Girl Anymore!-Chapter 1951: Hayes Edwards Extra (108)
Grace Winter quickly understood and stood a little closer to Hayes Edwards, tilting her head towards him, "Yeah, Hayes and I are going to hang out over there. Do you guys want to join?"
The girl couldn’t muster a smile, "Suit yourselves."
As soon as she said that, Hayes directly pulled Grace away.
The girl turned her head and immediately started venting in her group chat, typing a long rant, finally concluding—she really is his girlfriend.
There was still a bit of unwillingness.
After all, they’ve been in the same school for three years, and now someone suddenly swoops in.
Quickly, someone in the chat responded, "I heard the school heartthrob and his girlfriend have known each other for many years, childhood sweethearts, so it’s hardly suddenly swooping in, right?"
The girl sent a bunch more messages, also angrily sent a voice clip.
But this time, no one paid much attention to her.
While queuing for ice cream, Grace Winter curiously spoke up, "Hayes, does that girl like you?"
Hayes leaned on her shoulder, nudging her forward a step, "I don’t know her."
Grace thought about the girl’s earlier expression and laughed, "Hayes, you’re really popular."
Hayes curled his lips, a little smug, "I was quite popular in kindergarten."
Indeed.
Back in kindergarten, Hayes was not only the "kindergarten boss," but also the "kindergarten prince." When other kids were still crying and playing with mud, Hayes was already paying attention to his clothing and appearance.
Every day like a little prince.
Though he was a bit narcissistic and conceited, and very full of himself.
As he grew up, these traits didn’t completely disappear, just a bit toned down.
Hayes suddenly realized something, "Did you only see how popular I am?"
Grace looked back at him, puzzled, "What else?"
Hayes: "..." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Shouldn’t the focus be on the girlfriend?
The line finally reached them, and the employee at the ice cream truck was asking what flavor they wanted.
Grace looked at the menu on the truck, picked a milk flavor for herself, then turned to ask Hayes, "What flavor do you want?"
Hayes wasn’t in the mood to consider flavors, feeling a bit down, "Anything is fine."
"Then let me choose for you," Grace turned back, "One milk and one strawberry, please."
Hayes likes strawberry-flavored cake.
After getting the ice creams, Grace handed the strawberry one to Hayes and took a small bite of her milk-flavored one.
The cold taste mixed with the sweet milk flavor spread, and she showed a satisfied smile.
Hayes was still brooding to himself.
They sat on a bench in the amusement park, and Grace had already bitten off the tip of her ice cream, then turned to look at Hayes, asking him, "Aren’t you going to eat?"
Hayes’s ice cream was starting to melt.
Grace was a bit curious to taste the strawberry flavor.
Hayes noticed, then took a big bite of his ice cream, almost half of it gone.
Grace looked on eagerly, then turned back around, holding her ice cream with both hands, continuing to eat hers.
"Just now..." Hayes suddenly spoke.
Grace didn’t look at him, focusing on her ice cream.
Hayes was silent for a while, didn’t know what to say next, and simply stood up and walked away.
Grace turned around, not watching him leave.
A minute later.
