No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 439 - 437: He Will Feel Distressed [2nd Update]
Xavier Graham looked at the one-sided situation, watching how everyone was defending Maya Spencer, feeling frustrated. He thought, how long have they known this woman seriously, why are they all bought by her?
He took a deep breath, staring straight at Maya Spencer, and warned coldly, "It’s best if this matter has nothing to do with you, otherwise, even if I let it go, Liam Spencer won’t let you off."
Faced with Xavier Graham’s warning, Maya Spencer didn’t retaliate. After all, he was overly concerned about Liam Spencer, and Maya Spencer indeed felt guilty, so she didn’t speak again, just turned around, walked up to the floor-to-ceiling window, crossed her arms, and stared outside, looking at the distant sky’s moon.
Although she didn’t commit the act, it was Ella Turner who did, Maya Spencer fretted. She hoped Liam Spencer would be alright and also hoped Ella wouldn’t get herself involved in this matter.
However, judging by the current situation, it wasn’t easy for Ella to extricate herself completely.
She had argued with Ella in the villa earlier and had slapped her, presumably the household servants knew who started the fire. She couldn’t let everyone pretend otherwise, especially since they were all Liam Spencer’s people. It seems they could only wait until Liam Spencer woke up to plead with him.
"Is everyone here! Is my Young Master okay!" Aunt Smith arrived at this moment.
After Liam Spencer was carried away by the 120, Aunt Smith called the police, and once the police extracted the evidence on site, she hurriedly brought clothes for Maya Spencer and Liam to change into.
Christopher Scott saw Aunt Smith arrive and quickly reported, "Third Brother is fine, the doctor said he would wake up after a few days in a coma."
"Oh! Is that so! Young Master Scott, Young Master Graham, it looks like you are all quite tired. Why don’t you head back first, the hospital only needs me and the Young Mistress." Aunt Smith was nearly fifty years old and had a keen eye for people.
When she came in earlier, she noticed something was wrong with the atmosphere inside, Maya Spencer standing alone with her back to everyone at the window, presumably aggrieved.
So, to ease the tension, she sent everyone away since it was already nearing midnight, they should rest, not to mention she had words to discuss with Maya Spencer.
Christopher Scott, upon hearing Aunt Smith’s dismissal, quickly agreed, "Alright, alright, let Third Brother rest, we’ll head back, it’s all up to Little Sweetheart and Aunt Smith here."
The others saw this and, after a few simple exchanges, didn’t linger in the hospital room.
Before leaving, Christopher approached Maya Spencer, patted her shoulder to comfort, "Little Sweetheart, when Third Brother wakes up and sees you’re unhappy, he’ll be distressed, give us a smile."
Maya Spencer looked at Christopher Scott’s playful demeanor, sighed helplessly, and said, "I know, I know! You hurry back and rest, I’ll call if anything comes up."
"Hmm! My elder brother is just like that, suspicious all the time, but it’s only because he’s too worried about Third Brother, don’t let it get to you."
"I know, I’m not taking it to heart."
"Then I’ll head out."
"Hmm! Tell everyone to drive slowly and be careful." Maya Spencer’s lips curved into a smile as she instructed.
"Hmm! Good night!" Christopher Scott listened to Maya Spencer’s concern for everyone, bent down, and gently hugged her to encourage her.
After Christopher Scott and Henry Reid left, Elijah Reed still remained in the ward and showed no signs of leaving.
Aunt Smith saw him standing idly by the bed without moving, immediately went to him, patting his arm to remind, "Assistant Reed, go home and rest!"
"Aunt Smith, I’m not tired, I’ll leave when the BOSS wakes up."
"Young Master is ill, and the company’s matters undoubtedly need your care, how can you continue without rest! I’ll call you immediately once he wakes up."
Hearing this, Elijah felt troubled. He wanted to stay beside Liam Spencer, but the company’s affairs indeed required attention, and he also had things he wanted to ask Maya Spencer, which kept him lingering.
"Elijah, head back and rest! I’ll keep in touch with you anytime." Maya Spencer advised.
Thus, Elijah reluctantly left the hospital and went home.
Like everyone else, he had many unresolved questions he wanted to ask Maya Spencer, but he held back, thinking he could inquire in a few days. Anyway, Maya Spencer wouldn’t tell the truth now; it would be better to ask at the villa first.
After Elijah left the ward, Aunt Smith locked the living room’s door and handed the clothes she brought to Maya Spencer, saying, "Young Mistress, take a shower and change into clean clothes."
From firefighting till now, Maya was dressed in wet clothes; at the rescue room’s door earlier, her lips had turned blue from the cold, but she didn’t feel chilly, just kept praying for Liam Spencer.
Maya accepted the clothes Aunt Smith handed over, walked into the bathroom for a shower.
A moment later, she returned, dressed cleanly, with her hair down, sitting on the left side of the bed, tightly holding Liam Spencer’s hand.
Aunt Smith sat opposite her, staring intently.
Maya felt guilty under Aunt Smith’s gaze, so she smiled and suggested, "Aunt Smith, you can sleep in the guest room in the living room. I’ll take care of Liam here."
Aunt Smith listened to Maya’s concern but didn’t respond, instead calmly saying, "Young Mistress, I reported tonight’s fire at the police station."
"What? You reported it?" Maya’s eyes widened with surprise at hearing the report, raised her head, staring straight at Aunt Smith, gripping Liam’s hand even tighter.
Aunt Smith watched Maya’s agitated emotions and a hint of panic in her eyes, took a deep breath and said, "The fire was started by Miss Turner, right!"
Maya lowered her head, staying silent, essentially admitting it.
Then Aunt Smith continued, "I’m still confused, how did Miss Turner start the fire, why at 8:40 when I went upstairs to see Young Master, there was no fire yet, why does she hate Young Master enough to try to burn him alive?"
Maya took a deep breath and explained, "I don’t know how Ella started the fire. A month ago, Ella’s brother, Ethan Turner, died in a car accident. Recently Ella received evidence from a mysterious person saying her brother didn’t die accidentally, he was murdered by someone who hired a killer, and the murderer was Third Brother. Although the police verified that the evidence was fake, she always believed the mysterious person’s words, saying Third Brother has influence in S City, even the police are covering for him, so she came to him for revenge."
"Impossible, my Young Master could never kill someone. He may have a bad temper, be unenthusiastic, but he’ll never commit a crime." Aunt Smith, upon hearing Liam accused of murder, was furious and immediately stood up from her chair, denying this statement.
Maya, seeing Aunt Smith’s agitation, immediately calmed down and persuaded, "Yes, I believe Third Brother is being framed, but Ella is the party directly involved, she’s held onto this belief, which led her to be manipulated. Aunt Smith, I beg you, please don’t press charges against Ella, don’t let the police intervene. Uncle Turner and Aunt Turner have already lost Ethan, I can’t let them lose Ella too."
