No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 440 - 438 Likes Him [3 updates]
Aunt Smith looked at Maya Spencer and said helplessly, "I only asked the police to investigate the cause of the fire. As for other matters, I can’t make decisions. Let’s wait until the young master wakes up to decide!"
"Thank you, Aunt Smith." Maya felt a temporary sense of relief upon hearing that it was only an investigation into the cause of the fire and that Ella Turner was not being sued or accused.
"I have also instructed the servants not to speak randomly about this matter if asked. However, young madam, I don’t wish for Miss Turner to visit us again. You should also consider the young master more. With things like this, everyone is feeling hurt."
Maya understood the implications of Aunt Smith’s words. Though she did not sue Ella Turner, she had no intention of letting her go so easily, but she simply did not have the authority. Aunt Smith hoped that Maya would think more about Liam Spencer, not just plead for Ella Turner and overlook Liam’s pain.
Maya listened to Aunt Smith’s instructions and nodded, agreeing with an "Mm".
She felt caught in the middle, so troubled, between the man she wanted to spend her life with and her best friend for life, leaving her at a loss.
Aunt Smith saw the hint of helplessness and melancholy in Maya’s eyes, took a deep breath, stood up from her chair, and said, "I’m going to rest now. You should rest early too."
After Aunt Smith left, the ward became even more desolate. Maya sat nearby, and she could clearly hear Liam’s heartbeat.
Looking at the unconscious Liam in the hospital bed, her heart was full of guilt. She still blamed herself for leaving the house today. Gently, she took the man’s hand and placed it against her lips, secretly kissing it.
At this moment, Maya finally realized how much Liam meant to her, how worried she was about him, and how afraid she was that something would happen to him. She realized that, unknowingly, she had already decided to spend her life with this man.
She could not recall when she became so concerned about him. She hadn’t expected that, without being aware, she would consider Liam a part of her life, her mood swaying with him.
When she had a crush on Lillian Morris, she didn’t have so many emotions.
Maya was startled by herself because she seemed to have fallen for him, being melted by his tenderness over the days they spent together.
Realizing this, her kisses on the back of Liam’s hand grew more intense.
She was anxious, anxious that she might actually like Liam, anxious that her feelings for him were deeper than those for Lillian Morris.
At this moment, her heart raced more fiercely, almost leaping out of her mouth. Upon reflection, she realized how much she and Liam had in common; their tempers similarly bad, both equally aloof, yet infinitely accommodating when treating someone well.
As she kissed Liam, her gaze never left his face, this man was handsome even when he was ill.
After a moment, she released his hand, stood up from the chair, walked around the foot of the bed, climbed onto the large bed from the opposite side, and lay down beside Liam, embracing him tightly.
After holding him for a while, she felt the distance between them was too far, so she softly encircled his neck with her small arm, rested her head on Liam’s shoulder, and looked at him intently.
She recalled their past days, thinking of his disdain and coldness towards her in the past and comparing it to his current tenderness, a knowing smile appeared on her lips. Recollecting how he forced her to drink in the bar, only to drag her away eventually, her smile grew even more radiant.
It turned out, he cared for her, liked her back then. Even though that incident caused her to lose her child unexpectedly, Maya had let it go, thinking she should have many more in the future.
At this moment, Maya understood that all his previous obsessive behaviors were just because he liked her.
So, she moved closer to his face and planted a kiss on his cheek, smiling sweetly, and said, "Third Brother, I didn’t know you liked me so early and waited for me for three years."
Both were proud, which led to many unpleasant incidents in between. Fortunately, they now trusted each other.
Thinking of Liam’s feelings for her, Maya’s grip on his shoulder tightened.
Even though they hadn’t confessed to each other yet, this affection was genuine and gave a sense of security.
For the next two days, Maya stayed in the ward, not leaving Liam’s side, busy wiping him down, changing his clothes, measuring his temperature, and even taking over the nurses’ duties.
At night, she would hold him and sleep with him.
The doctor advised Maya to talk to him as much as possible, saying it would help Liam wake up sooner. But Maya, pouting cutely, found it easy to say sweet words but not to deliver lengthy emotional speeches. She was unwilling to express the thoughts and promises held in her heart.
Therefore, in her spare time, she held Liam’s hand, letting him feel her presence.
Out of the 24 hours in a day, she spent nearly 20 holding his hand.
This day, Seven Murray came to the hospital to visit. Seeing the girl sitting by the bed, staring dumbly at Liam, she cautiously asked, "Maya, is Third Brother any better?"
Only then did Maya realize someone had arrived. She immediately stood up from the chair, welcomed Seven, and got her a drink.
She said, "He’s been in a coma for two days now. I don’t know when he will wake up."
"Maya, I’m sorry. Right after Sister Jane Spencer’s wedding, I went on a business trip the next day. I just returned and just heard that Third Brother is in the hospital." Seven’s words implied she blamed herself for arriving late.
"It’s fine. It’s good as long as Third Brother wakes up," Maya spoke without looking into people’s eyes often, but the past few days, even when talking to others, her gaze remained fixated on Liam, afraid she’d miss any movement from him.
"I heard your bedroom caught fire. Maya, were you hurt?"
"I’m okay. Oh, Seven, I heard from Hudson Moore that you were in a lawsuit with a model who refused to shoot an advertisement after taking your money. Has it been resolved?" Maya wanted to shift the topic away from the fire incident.
"You don’t need to worry about it. That model is cooperating with us now. She said her schedule is free for the next couple of days, so she’ll do the shoot for us."
"How did it get resolved so quickly? Hudson was yelling to stand up for you!"
"The other day I was in a bad mood and broke her nose, which my assistant captured on her phone. I then used the photo to threaten her, saying that if she dared to breach the contract, I’d release the photo and expose her lie about never having plastic surgery to her many fans."
Listening to Seven’s solution, Maya broke into a cold sweat, thinking, it seems like there isn’t a single one of the six young masters of S City, even adding Seven, who plays by the rules. Alright! She admitted she was just like them.
