Chapter 504: Chapter 502 Disturbed You [4th Update]

Ella Turner watched Elijah Reed quicken his pace, her eyes reddening with anger, and she started running towards him.

When she caught up to Elijah, she quickly grabbed his arm and pushed him against the wall, holding back her tears, she angrily asked, "Why are you avoiding me?"

Elijah looked at the aggressive girl, took a deep breath, and cautiously explained, "You misunderstood, the BOSS suddenly needed me for an urgent matter, I need to go quickly."

"These past two days, you haven’t called me once. When I call you, you avoid and refuse to speak to me. You reply to one out of ten messages I send, Elijah, what do you mean by this?"

These past two days, Ella was nearly driven crazy by Elijah. This guy had been having meals with her for almost two months, calling her several times a day, and sometimes even visiting her apartment twice in one day, but suddenly became indifferent towards her, leaving Ella frustrated.

"I’ve been quite busy these past two days." Elijah was never not busy, but even when busy before, he always made time for Ella. Yet these last few days, he’s been finishing work earlier than usual but still hasn’t visited her.

"You’re lying, you’re just avoiding me."

"I am not lying, I was busy gathering evidence for the young lady, and she returned to the country today. I just came back from the Hanson Family’s villa with the BOSS." Elijah continued to defend himself.

Ella saw that he always used work as an excuse. She couldn’t find a better reason but was unwilling to be brushed off like that.

She looked at the man in front of her, at his blushing face. Ella wasn’t willing to let him go like this, nor was she willing to continue the unclear relationship with him.

Besides, a few days ago, when Elijah stayed overnight at her apartment, she had already decided to confess to Elijah, determined to win him over.

She was afraid that if she didn’t act fast, Elijah might be snatched away by someone else.

Thus, she didn’t dwell on why Elijah was avoiding her but released his arm suddenly and slapped her hand on the wall, tilting her head, earnestly staring at Elijah.

Elijah was bewildered by the girl’s passionate gaze. He was unexpectedly cornered by Ella in a kabedon style. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

At this moment, Elijah’s heartbeat was getting faster and almost exploding; he seemed to have an inkling of what was about to happen.

Then Ella pulled her right hand off the wall, placed it on Elijah’s neck, and pulled him down, ready to kiss his lips without error.

The last time, she kissed him secretly; this time, she kissed him openly.

Their lips met; Elijah’s mind went blank, yet he didn’t push Ella away; instead, he felt her soft lips were quite comfortable. But he didn’t dare to take any deeper actions; their lips stayed firmly pressed together without any intimate interaction.

In that moment, they were surrounded by staff, all pointing and watching Ella, some encouraging, some mocking, yet Ella heard nothing, saw nothing, only stared straight into Elijah’s eyes.

Until she felt the kiss was awkward, she finally let Elijah go with a flushed face, seeing that Elijah’s face also turned red, looking stunned like a statue without blinking.

Ella looked at the dazed Elijah, took a deep breath, and held his face seriously, saying, "Elijah, I like you, I want to be your girlfriend."

"Buzz buzz buzz..." Elijah’s mind was empty, feeling like countless little bees were buzzing around his head, with Ella’s confession interspersing, making him dizzy.

"Oh... oh..." After Ella confessed, there was a commotion around.

"Assistant Reed, quickly agree."

"Assistant Reed, don’t agree, don’t give up a whole forest for a single tree. Look, there are still many girls in our company; you should consider carefully!" Some girls were fearful of Elijah getting committed, hence advising him not to agree.

However, amidst everyone’s hustle and heckling, Elijah did not react at all.

Ella looked at the absent-minded Elijah, patting his face, reminding him again, "Elijah, I said I like you, I want to be your girlfriend, did you hear me?"

"Um... um... The BOSS just reached out to me, seems quite urgent." Actually, Liam Spencer hadn’t looked for him at all; Elijah was lying.

"Can I be your girlfriend?" The two talked past each other without taking each other’s words to heart.

"Um... I’ll get busy first." Elijah immediately pulled Ella’s hand away, trying to escape the awkward atmosphere.

This was his first time being confessed to, and in public too, Elijah was at a loss, unsure of how to respond to Ella, wanting only to avoid it.

As for his feelings towards Ella, even he was confused, not knowing how to describe them, unsure if he needed this girlfriend.

"Elijah, could you give me a straight answer, don’t leave me brooding, waiting endlessly. Even if you don’t like me, at least give me a clear answer, okay?" Ella was a bit irritated seeing him trying to avoid again.

Thinking, if he didn’t like her, what was the point of his previous attention to her?

Looking at the helpless and slightly angry Ella, Elijah panicked even more.

These past days, he thought about the situation between him and Ella, yet he couldn’t figure out if what he felt for Ella was love, as he had never dated before and never considered this aspect.

So he lowered his head, looking at Ella, honestly stating, "Ella, I haven’t thought about getting a girlfriend yet."

After Elijah’s honesty, there was a sudden silence in the room; when Ella kissed Elijah, he didn’t push her away, so everyone thought Elijah would agree to the girl’s confession, unexpectedly, he rejected her.

Immediately, everyone was bewildered, all eyes fell on Ella, feeling embarrassed on her behalf.

Ella listened to Elijah’s confession, slowly withdrawing her small hand from his face, with a bitter smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

She wanted to graciously say "it’s okay," but she felt it mattered, it mattered deeply, and even the smile at the corners of her mouth felt unnatural.

She took a deep breath, trying hard to appear natural, deliberately adjusting her smile to seem less forced, saying, "I understand, sorry to disturb you."

As Ella spoke, she turned and pushed through the crowd, lowering her head, silently heading towards the elevator.

At this point, her heart felt heavy, feeling aggrieved, thinking, since he didn’t like her, why had he been so kind, giving her misconceptions, making her misunderstand.

As she walked into the elevator, she couldn’t hold back her tears, suddenly sitting on the ground, bursting into loud sobs.

She regretted it, regretted confessing; regretted being too forward with Elijah in the past couple of days, regretting letting him perceive her affection for him.

If none of this had happened, he would still be the same, dining with her, calling her.

But after this fragile membrane was pierced, she was left with nothing, she regretted it but could not go back, only able to express her remorse through tears.
