No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 505 - 503 Influenced [5 updates]
She didn’t understand why her sixth sense failed her. Why didn’t Elijah Reed like her? She felt so upset and wished she could go back to a few days ago, carefree and happy with Elijah.
"Wow...wow..." Realizing it was impossible, she cried more heartbreakingly.
After Ella Turner left, Elijah Reed let out a long sigh, scratched his hair, and turned around, heading to his office.
Upon entering the office, he immediately saw the bag Ella Turner left on the sofa. He quickly walked over to the sofa, grabbed the girl’s bag, holding it in his hand, not knowing what to do.
He wanted to return it to her but worried that if he went over, she might kiss him again or say embarrassing things. So, he bit his lip, placed the bag in the office wardrobe, deciding to deal with it in a couple of days.
At that moment, in the hospital room, Maya Spencer was massaging Aron Hanson’s arm when her phone suddenly rang.
Maya picked up the phone and saw it was Ella Turner calling. She set Aron Hanson’s hand down, walked to the window, and answered the call.
"Maya, I feel so horrible. I want to see you." Before Maya could speak, she heard Ella Turner crying frantically on the other end.
Immediately, Maya panicked and quickly asked, "Ella, where are you? What happened? I’ll come to see you right away."
"I’m in the hospital’s underground parking lot." Since Ella left Owen Clan Group, she directly went to the hospital, knowing Maya would be there every morning.
"Ella, stay put, I’ll come find you now."
After hanging up, Maya swiftly grabbed her shoulder bag and hurriedly explained to Aron Hanson: "Uncle, Ella seems to be having some trouble. I need to go check on her."
"Hmm, go quickly!"
Five minutes later, Maya found Ella in the parking lot.
When she opened the car door, she saw Ella still lying on the steering wheel, sobbing.
Maya grew worried, quickly sat in the passenger seat, patted Ella’s back, and asked, "Ella, what happened?"
Seeing Maya, Ella turned and hugged her tightly, sobbing uncontrollably: "I just confessed to Elijah Reed, but... but he rejected me."
Listening to Ella’s report, Maya finally relaxed. She thought something serious had happened; it turned out she was crying over Elijah. But why would that guy reject Ella? Doesn’t he care about her? Maya didn’t understand either.
After thinking for a moment, Maya patted Ella’s back, comforting her: "Ella, Elijah might be because he’s been single too long or hasn’t been in love before. He hasn’t figured out his feelings, but he surely still likes you; he just hasn’t realized it yet."
"Let’s not cry, and see what happens in a couple of days. Maybe he’ll realize his feelings and confess to you."
Actually, Maya’s guess wasn’t wrong. Elijah was indeed confused at the moment, having not figured things out. Maybe if Ella left him alone for two days, he’d sort out his feelings.
"Mmm, Maya, I trust you." After being comforted by Maya, Ella felt much better.
To cheer Ella up, Maya took her shopping, treated her to delicious food, watched a movie, and only returned Ella to her apartment at 8 PM.
Because it was too early to finish, Ella didn’t agree to Liam Spencer picking her up. She drove Ella’s car back to the villa.
"Miss, the young master seems a little upset today." As Maya returned to the villa, Aunt Smith pulled her aside, quietly reporting Liam Spencer’s mood.
Liam’s mood wasn’t good; Maya could tell on the phone earlier, so she nodded at Aunt Smith and walked upstairs.
When she pushed open the bedroom door, Liam was at the desk looking at documents.
Seeing Maya return, he didn’t greet her like usual, nor did he smile warmly, just said indifferently, "You’re back."
Listening to Liam’s cold greeting, Maya took a deep breath, slightly perplexed about what she had done to provoke him into treating her so coldly.
Maya knew Liam wouldn’t be affected by work-related issues, nor would he be upset about trivial matters. His indifference towards her must be her fault, but she didn’t know what had upset him.
She stared at the man for a moment, seeing him still coldly avoiding eye contact, she cautiously approached, explaining: "Ella confessed to Elijah Reed today, but that guy rejected her. She was upset, and I’ve been with her."
She thought maybe he was unhappy because she had ignored him today.
But Liam showed little response to Maya’s explanation, only coldly answered, "Hmm," dismissively.
Seeing his continued disregard, Maya slowly walked over to the desk, bent down, supported herself on the desk with her left hand, pinched his earlobe with her right, trying to please him, asking: "Liam, what’s wrong? Why are you upset today?"
Listening to the girl’s question, Liam didn’t directly answer but kept looking at the document, coldly saying, "Nothing."
Maya felt frustrated and didn’t want to keep pleasing him, so she stood straight and said indifferently, "Then you continue working, I’ll go take a shower."
She disliked Liam’s silent treatment, making her hold back, so she couldn’t be bothered to talk further.
After Maya turned to leave, Liam finally raised his head, watching her back.
Even though he tried his best to control his emotions, Jane Spencer’s voice constantly echoed in his ears, reminding him that Maya liked her ex-husband, Lillian Morris.
Every time he thought about this, Liam felt inexplicably suffocated, extremely upset, even struggling to breathe.
He knew Maya was unwell, so he didn’t dare get angry with her, didn’t dare ask her whether she still liked Lillian Morris.
The reasons for not daring to ask: firstly, afraid they’d argue over this? Secondly, frightened of receiving a positive answer; such a result he couldn’t bear, so he preferred holding back and treating Maya indifferently.
Liam cared so much also because he’d been with Maya for so long, gone through so much, yet he never heard her say she liked him.
He feared Maya was with him only out of convenience and habit, not love.
Although he had once thought, as long as she’s around, it’s fine. But now, he’s grown greedy, wanting more, wanting not just her presence, but her heart.
Ultimately, Jane Spencer’s words hit his sore spot, even if he didn’t show anger, it affected his mood.
A moment later, when Maya came out of the bathroom, Liam was still at the desk working, completely ignoring her.
Seeing this, Maya rolled her eyes indifferently at him, climbed into bed, grabbed the book off the bedside table, and flipped through it aimlessly.
Note: Maya hasn’t confessed yet; should she confess, hehe~
