No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 507 - 505: Caught Off Guard [2nd Update]
Jane Spencer glanced at Ella Turner in the plaintiff area, rolled her eyes coldly, and said disdainfully, "I have nothing to explain. If the plaintiff has evidence, please present it instead of making baseless accusations. Besides, as far as I know, there seems to be other evidence that I am not the murderer."
"That evidence is fake. Aron Hanson later told the driver to stop, but it was you who ordered someone to hit my brother." Ella Turner, seeing Jane Spencer’s dismissive attitude, felt an overwhelming urge to rush forward and slap her several times.
However, considering Liam Spencer, she had been polite enough.
She thought the case would drag on for a long time and was afraid it would end inconclusively. Unexpectedly, Liam Spencer acted swiftly to bring the truth to light, even suing his own sister. To say Ella Turner wasn’t touched would be untrue.
At this moment, she admired Liam Spencer more and more and increasingly felt that Maya Spencer and Liam were meant to be together. Liam was the kind of man she could rely on for a lifetime.
"Plaintiff, please remain calm," the judge reminded.
Jane Spencer heard the judge’s reminder, sneered, and rolled her eyes at Ella Turner without showing a hint of fear.
Ella Turner’s lawyer, looking at Jane Spencer’s disdainful expression, curled his lips into a cold smile and refrained from making an excited accusation against Jane Spencer, even though the matter was indeed infuriating.
He simply said calmly, "Judge, we would like to see the other two defendants, namely the hit-and-run drivers. We believe they know the truth better."
"The two of them have not been apprehended yet," the judge said somewhat helplessly.
"We have just found them. I wonder if they can be brought to court."
"Bring the other two defendants to court." Before the trial, the two hit-and-run drivers had been hidden by Hudson Moore. He had hidden them, fearing they would escape and that Jane Spencer would cause trouble again, so to ensure safety, they hadn’t been shown.
Subsequently, the two hit-and-run drivers were brought in, one of whom was in a wheelchair, with his leg broken by Hudson Moore.
Therefore, when his eyes unintentionally landed on Hudson Moore, he couldn’t help but feel afraid.
"Defendants Jimmy Lee and Daniel Parker, do you recognize Defendant No. 1, Jane Spencer?" the judge asked.
The two hit-and-run drivers listened to the judge’s question, turned their heads simultaneously, and looked at Jane Spencer.
Then they answered in unison, "Yes, we do."
When Ella Turner’s lawyer brought up the hit-and-run drivers, Jane Spencer had a bad premonition. Now, hearing the two drivers say they recognized her, Jane Spencer’s face turned pale instantly.
She hadn’t met these two drivers from start to finish, so they couldn’t possibly know her, but as they were determined to recognize her, there must be something fishy. Liam Spencer must have bought off these two individuals to turn them against her and frame her.
At this point, Jane Spencer panicked and immediately explained, "Judge, I don’t know these two people. I’ve never met them."
"Madam Hanson, you must forgetful. Although the car accident happened some time ago, it’s not to the point where you can’t remember us! Two months ago, after Mr. Hanson canceled the plan, wasn’t it you who arranged to meet us to continue the plan? You even said you’d have someone spray chemicals in the victim’s car in advance to ensure he wouldn’t survive. If we didn’t follow your plan, you’d have Mr. Hanson take back our money," said one of the drivers.
The other driver added, "Exactly, and the money was spent, so we had no money to return to you, leaving us no choice but to proceed with the original plan. Madam Hanson, you can’t put all the blame on us." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Dear Judge, we were just momentarily misguided. Please, Judge, have mercy on us; we were merely tools of Madam Hanson’s crime."
"Nonsense! I don’t know you at all; you’re all colluding to frame me. I won’t admit it, and I haven’t done any such things," Jane Spencer was furious, listening to the driver’s accusations.
If they insist on accusing her, even if she hasn’t met them, she can’t escape being implicated in this matter.
Now, Jane Spencer began to panic. She always thought Liam Spencer couldn’t find evidence, so she felt she could rest easy. She never expected him to be so ruthless, having the drivers testify against her.
Jane Spencer’s lawyer listened to the opposing side’s accusations and Jane Spencer’s anger, and calmly said, "Judge, I don’t understand why the police searched for these two suspects for so long and didn’t find them, but they suddenly appeared on the trial day?"
"According to what we know, these two suspects weren’t injured after the car accident, so why are they suddenly appearing injured? And Defendant No. 2 is even attending in a wheelchair. Where have these two suspects been during this period, and what unknown experiences have occurred? Could it be that they were coerced to give false testimony against my client? I think their accusations cannot be taken at face value, and this matter requires further investigation."
After the lawyer spoke, Jane Spencer couldn’t help but take a deep breath, thinking that professionals indeed possessed expertise, staying calmer than herself and possessing a keen ability to find flaws.
The judge, listening to the lawyer’s explanation, furrowed his brows, feeling that the matter indeed had suspicious elements, and then questioned the hit-and-run drivers, "Defendants No. 2 and No. 3, where were you during this time? Why are you injured? Please answer truthfully."
The drivers listened to the judge’s question, exchanged glances, and one of them explained, "After we were discharged from the hospital, we initially wanted to escape, but we were suddenly surrounded by people sent by Madam Hanson, who said they couldn’t let us go if we wanted things to remain unknown. Fortunately, Young Master Moore saved us and hid us until yesterday, when he told us Madam Hanson was already sued. There was even talk of a kidnapping case or something in between, so we willingly came to court to testify against Madam Hanson."
When the driver said these words, he wished he could slap himself, thinking they should have just stuck to fabrications. They even had to cover up the truth for Hudson Moore. They felt unwilling, yet it was inevitable; after all, they got involved in a life-and-death situation for the money.
"This is utter nonsense! I never sent people to hunt you down." As Jane Spencer reached this point, she couldn’t help but become emotional. Her lawyer, seeing this, furrowed his brow tightly and signaled her to be cautious with her words.
Jane Spencer, observing her lawyer’s signal, quickly changed her tone and innocently said, "I don’t know them at all, nor did I instruct them to hit anyone. Why would I hunt them down?"
Jane Spencer’s denial of guilt was already within Liam Spencer and his lawyer’s anticipations, so Ella Turner’s lawyer didn’t bother to argue further. Moreover, the more Jane Spencer argued, the clearer things became.
However, he just wanted to catch Jane Spencer off guard, leaving her unprepared.
