No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 508 - 506 Video Evidence [3 Updates]
So, he calmly asked, "Your Honor, we have also acquired video evidence of Jane Spencer hiring a hitman. May we play it in court?"
"Yes, you may."
When the judge announced that the evidence could be played, the screen in the courtroom showed footage of Jane Spencer meeting with two drivers at a teahouse. Although the sound was somewhat low, it was still clear enough to hear her instruct the drivers to hit Ethan Turner. She also threatened them, saying that if they didn’t comply with her wishes, she would demand back the 2 million payment from each of them.
After this video finished playing, another clip followed, showing a strange man interacting with Jane Spencer. Jane said, "Before 6 PM tomorrow, find a way to spray these drugs into the air ducts of Ethan Turner’s vehicle."
The man said, "Miss, this doesn’t seem right. Three years ago you asked me to throw the Hanson Family’s lady into the sea, and now you want me to do this. I’m afraid it will shorten my lifespan."
"You still remember the incident from three years ago. Now, we are like grasshoppers tied to the same rope. Do you think you can escape? Years ago, I gave you so much money to drown Maya Spencer, but she was still rescued. Useless."
"Miss, this isn’t good. I already regretted doing that thing three years ago. This time, I won’t listen to you."
"Alright then, be careful when crossing the road in the future."
"Miss, are you threatening me?"
"Little Smith, we are on the same ship now. Listen to me, and you won’t suffer a loss."
The video stopped playing at this point.
However, Jane Spencer was dumbfounded. She looked at these two videos, bewildered; she had never even met those two drivers, and she didn’t know who that Little Smith in the video was.
She turned her head to the audience area, only to see Maya Spencer glaring at her angrily, while Liam Spencer remained as calm as ever.
At this moment, Jane Spencer was trembling with rage, not knowing who in the video looked so much like her. If it weren’t for her never having done those things, she herself would have been deceived.
Her mind was boiling, feeling that this time she might really be ruined by Liam Spencer.
She glanced around the room, observing the lawyer’s frown of helplessness, the judge’s cold face, and the two drivers still accusing her.
She suddenly felt her head was about to explode, with past memories rushing in.
She remembered pretending to be Aron Hanson and calling those two drivers, remembered directing someone to throw Maya Spencer into the sea from the cruise ship, remembered Liam and Lillian Morris risking everything to jump into the sea, and remembered how Maya was pulled out, her face pale from the cold.
Unease crept in, leading to confusion, making the videos seem real to her.
Gazing again at herself in the video, she felt the room swaying like she was standing on a storm-tossed boat. Clinging tightly to the railing of the defendant’s box, she shook her head frantically, saying, "No, no, that woman isn’t me. I’ve never met those drivers. I only used a voice changer to impersonate Aron Hanson to call them. I didn’t send anyone to kill them. Liam couldn’t find the evidence. How could I walk into a trap like this? And that Little Smith person, I don’t even know him. Three years ago, it was my assistant, not that man, who threw Maya into the sea."
After Jane Spencer finished speaking, the audience was abuzz with whispers. Maya was gritting her teeth with anger. As expected, the mastermind who had thrown her into the sea three years ago was indeed Sister Jane Spencer.
Yet, seeing her confess everything so quickly under such pressure, Maya still felt a sigh of relief. She thought the truth would finally come out. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Nearby, listening to Jane Spencer’s confession, Liam’s expression was cold, so cold that it was chilling.
Maya knew that for Liam to make such a decision and do such things, it had taken a heavy psychological toll, despite not having a good relationship, she was still his sister.
Maya took a deep breath, gently holding Liam’s small hand to comfort him, assuring him not to be too sad.
In the defendant’s area, Liam looked at the disdainful eyes of the audience and the lawyer’s face ashen with despair. She was momentarily dumbstruck. As she watched the woman in the video and listened to her fabricated accounts, her originally agitated emotions suddenly spiraled out of control, and she accidentally spoke out all the truth.
She had startled herself, and the lawyer was at a loss for words. Even though Jane Spencer had always insisted to him that she wasn’t involved, he had his suspicions. Now she had been tricked into confessing in court.
But even if she hadn’t been tricked, with this video evidence, she couldn’t escape being implicated. The truth would eventually come out.
It was only now that Jane Spencer realized she had misspoken, that she had lost control, so she quickly explained, "That’s not how it is. I was nervous and misspoke. The car accident has nothing to do with me, and neither does Maya falling into the sea."
However, no matter how she explained, it was in vain. No one believed her anymore.
The judge looked at Jane Spencer, who was still quibbling, and knocked the gavel solemnly, announcing, "Order! Order! The first trial ends here. Suspects Jane Spencer, Jimmy Lee, and Daniel Parker are to be detained for further investigation. Sentencing will be announced in the second trial."
The first trial was concluded, and although the sentencing was yet to be revealed, Jane Spencer had no way out, only waiting for the second trial’s verdict on her sentence or a heavier price to pay.
"Liam, you bastard, you used fake evidence to trick me. Don’t think you’ve won." Seeing the trial end, Jane Spencer broke down, realizing she had not even a chance to appeal.
She never imagined that upon her return from a business trip, she’d be finished. Reluctantly, she was handcuffed by the law enforcement officers, afraid to imagine her future life.
If only she had realized earlier that this was a trap, she would have stayed abroad and never returned.
But blinded by greed, she didn’t even confirm if Aron Hanson and Maya were truly dead before rushing back to claim Hanson Clan Group. In the end, she got herself into trouble, leaving her filled with regret and continuously spewing curses at Liam and Maya.
That day felt like a dream, a nightmare she hoped never to face again in her lifetime.
She couldn’t believe that after being shrewd for so long, she was taken down by Liam and Maya. She never expected Liam to tie in the events from three years ago, deeds she believed were unknown to others.
Though she didn’t want to accept what had happened was real, the enclosed walls of the detention room forced her to reckon with the truth.
In a corner of the detention room, she crouched, feeling as if everyone was connected to Liam, as if they were all his spies.
