No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 588 - 586: Not Chasing You Anymore [3rd Update]
Sophia Bennett was already at her wit’s end; apart from compromising herself, she couldn’t find any other solution, because there was nothing of him in Christopher Scott’s eyes or heart, and she had no leverage to negotiate with him.
Even though everything she did, everything she said, was for his own good.
"Sophia, who do you think you are, what gives you the right to threaten me? Don’t cry in front of me, it’s really annoying, you know?" Christopher said weakly, sitting on the ground.
He could feel that if he didn’t go to the hospital, continued to endure the cold wind and heavy snow, he would definitely freeze to death.
But his heart ached too much; he’d rather freeze to death than face tomorrow’s life and accept Sophia’s help.
Christopher had too many regrets in his heart, and this regret made him angry with himself, but he had nowhere to vent, so he had to vent it on the relentless Sophia.
Sophia looked at Christopher’s lips that had turned purple from the cold, and saw his stubbornness and rejection of her.
Tears as big as beans rolled down from her eyes; she truly didn’t know what else to say.
So she knelt in front of Christopher, hugged him, and, choking on her sobs, pleaded: "Christopher, I beg you, stop being stubborn, okay? Go to the hospital, I promise, I really promise, I won’t chase you anymore, I won’t bother you."
Faced with Sophia’s repeated concessions, Christopher only felt a turmoil in his heart; he just wanted some peace, a moment alone to reminisce the good times at the campus he and Seven Murray had attended—why was it so difficult? How could this woman find him? Christopher felt aggrieved.
Thus, he suddenly pushed Sophia away, and coldly said: "I beg you too, please disappear from my sight immediately and let me be alone, okay?"
"No! No! If I leave, you’ll freeze to death," Sophia cried, shaking her head.
"Can you go away? I really hate you," Christopher had never hated anyone so much.
Previously, he hated those women around him for fame and fortune, but he hated this woman in front of him even more because she wanted neither money nor profits.
Hearing Christopher’s hatred, Sophia tightly bit her lower lip, wiped away her tears, and said through clenched teeth: "I know, I know, you hate me, you love Seven, in that case, I’ll help you pursue her, okay?"
Sophia said this, then stood up from the ground, quickly walked over to the pile of grass, picked up her bag, took out her phone, and found Ian Hobbs’s number, dialing it.
Moments later, the call connected, and Sophia heard Ian calmly ask: "Sophia, it’s so late, is there something you need?"
"Ian, I beg you, give Seven back to Christopher, okay? He’s about to die, please give her back to him!" Sophia said, and started crying.
On the other end, Ian was perplexed, furrowing his brows, immediately got up from the bed, and asked with concern: "Sophia, what are you saying? Where are you and Christopher now? Why is Christopher about to die?"
"I beg you, Ian, please give Seven back," Sophia pleaded, unable to contain her sobs.
This call was made from Sophia’s heart; she couldn’t bear seeing Christopher like this anymore. Would it be okay if she gave up? Would it be okay if she helped him win Seven back? She just wanted Christopher to be okay, for him to stop tormenting himself.
From a distance, Christopher listened to Sophia’s call, his anger boiling over. His weak legs suddenly stood up, and he ran swiftly toward Sophia, snatched the phone from her, and smashed it to the ground with a "bang."
In that instant, Sophia was dumbfounded. When she turned around and saw Christopher, she broke into tears.
Both hands grabbed his collar, and she desperately asked: "What do you want from me? What do I have to do for you to stop?"
"I told you to stop meddling, didn’t you hear?" He gripped her by the neck, gritting his teeth as he questioned.
That call had ignited all of Christopher’s anger; he really felt like slapping Sophia.
Nonetheless, he was relentless, and somehow his icy cold hand had gained enough strength to suddenly grip Sophia’s neck, almost choking her.
Sophia’s face turned red, her small hands clutching his collar quickly grasped his wrist, but she couldn’t manage to remove his hand from her neck.
Tears burst from her eyes, she thought if Christopher choking her to death could make him feel better, could transfer the pain Seven caused him, then let him choke her.
Christopher was furious, furious at Sophia for that call; even though it wasn’t him who made the call to Ian, Sophia humiliated herself for him, begged Ian to bring Seven back—how could he keep his dignity? This defeat was humiliating.
Looking at the glowing rims of the girl’s eyes, seeing her tears, Christopher suddenly pushed her to the ground and shouted angrily: "Get lost! Get lost now, and from now on, don’t ever let me see you again."
"Christopher, what are you doing? How can you push her?" At this moment, Liam Spencer and Maya Spencer suddenly arrived, Maya asked, frowning.
The two had just gotten to the playground, and had just seen Christopher and Sophia when they saw him push Sophia.
At that moment, Maya was furious; she could understand Christopher being rejected by Seven and feeling bad, but she couldn’t understand his rudeness towards Sophia.
No matter what, on this snowy Christmas Eve, Sophia had been searching for him all night; even if he had nothing to thank her for, he shouldn’t treat her this way.
Maya looked at Sophia pushed to the ground by Christopher, saw the tears all over her face, and felt pain for her.
Sophia had such a thick skin; if Christopher hadn’t said something hurtful, how could she cry so sadly?
Maya took a deep breath, quickly walked to Sophia’s side, helped her up from the ground, and wiped the tears from her face, comforting: "It’s okay! It’s okay! My brother and I are here."
When Sophia saw that help had arrived, she broke down into tears, holding onto Maya.
Maya watched as Sophia cried, patting her back, trying to soothe her: "It’s okay! I’m here, right? How dare Christopher bully you? I’ll help you get back at him; it’s a holiday, no more crying."
Sophia’s pain was something Maya could somewhat feel, after all, she had her own breakdowns before.
"Maya, Christopher has no body warmth, he’s too cold. I asked him to go to the hospital, but he won’t go." Facing Maya’s comfort and protection, Sophia didn’t mention her own grievances, nor did she complain about Christopher breaking her apple or smashing her phone.
Her mind focused solely on Christopher; she feared he wouldn’t go to the hospital and might get frostbite.
Liam stood aside, watching the drama unfold, observing Maya’s comfort to Sophia, thinking that if Maya knew Sophia was her cousin, she’d probably want to go after Christopher.
He took a long breath, glanced at Christopher, and said indifferently: "Tormenting yourself, will that change anything? Go to the hospital."
