No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 589 - 587: I’m Waiting for You [4 Updates]
"Liam, you guys go ahead! I want to be alone for a while." Christopher’s mind was in a mess, and he didn’t even know what he did to make Sophia cry so sadly.
The only thing he was sure of was that he still disliked that girl.
Liam looked at Christopher’s stubbornness, frowned deeply, and questioned, "Are you sure you want Seven’s engagement day to become your death anniversary?"
"..." Christopher was speechless.
If things really developed this way, Seven might not end up with Ian either. Perhaps she would live in self-reproach for the rest of her life, which was something Christopher didn’t want to see.
Even though he was reluctant to part with Seven, he didn’t want to see her unhappy. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
So, he had no choice but to compromise with Liam.
Maya looked at Christopher, who remained silent, took a long breath, and said to Liam, "Liam, you take Christopher to the hospital, and I’ll take Sophia home."
Afterwards, the four of them went their separate ways.
This was the first Christmas Liam and Maya spent together, but it turned out like this, making Maya’s head throb.
She wasn’t really troubled by these people and things; she just didn’t want to see everyone unhappy.
On the way back, Maya drove Sophia’s car, stealing glances at Sophia sitting in the passenger seat.
She could tell that this time Sophia was genuinely in love; she truly fell for Christopher.
Unfortunately, she had finally set her sights yet ended up liking someone she shouldn’t. Leaving aside Christopher’s dislike for Sophia, his guilt and persistence towards Seven, combined with his own regrets, meant it could take several spans of seven years for him to recover.
Sophia is different from Christopher; she’s a woman. Christopher is 26 this year, and if he waits two sets of seven years, by the time he’s 40, Sophia will be 37. She can’t afford to wait that long, and even if she’s willing to, it would break her parents’ hearts.
Therefore, Maya took a deep breath and calmly said, "Sophia, give up on Christopher! He’s not suitable for you. Give up before you sink any deeper!"
Sophia listened to Maya’s advice, biting her lower lip tightly, lowering her head without saying a word.
She didn’t know what to say because she really didn’t want to give up. As long as Christopher continued to stay single, she didn’t want to give up.
"Sophia, listen to my advice, or you’ll only end up hurting yourself in the end. Even if you don’t care about Christopher’s attitude towards you, can you ignore the fact that there’s someone else in his heart?" Maya didn’t want to see Sophia’s tragedy unfold.
Though Sophia usually seemed unserious, when she took things seriously, it made Maya’s heartache.
"Let me think about it! Maybe I’ll give up in a couple of days." Sophia said this on the surface, but deep down, she knew it wasn’t that easy for her to give up because Christopher gave her an entirely different feeling, instilling a strong desire in her to have him.
Seeing Sophia’s dilemma, Maya didn’t continue to persuade her. Matters of the heart could only be guided, and it was up to the person involved to make the final decision.
Half an hour later, Maya brought Sophia back to Liam’s villa, handed Sophia her own clothes, let her take a hot shower, and settle down in the guest room.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, the doctor put Christopher on an IV drip, and his cold body found some relief.
Beside the hospital bed, Liam looked at Christopher’s half-dead state, took a deep breath, and said, "Seven called just now, asking about you. I told her you’re fine, just dealing with Sophia. Tomorrow’s Seven’s engagement; I hope you’ll have a clear head and not embarrass everyone."
At this point, with nothing more to comfort, Liam just hoped Christopher wouldn’t be so dejected.
Though he understood the feeling of being in love but unable to be together, today’s outcome was caused by Christopher himself, and he couldn’t blame anyone for it, so he needed to bear the consequences himself.
"I know." Christopher replied calmly, not wanting to embarrass anyone. He just felt unhappy inside.
Seeing Christopher calm down, Liam didn’t worry too much. He said nonchalantly, "If you don’t like Sophia, just ignore her. After all, she’s Chairman Bennett’s niece. If something happens to her here, it won’t be good."
Moreover, that woman is Maya’s cousin. If the truth comes out, everyone’s family, and Liam didn’t want things to become too embarrassing.
"Hmm!" Christopher responded.
At this moment, recalling his earlier attitude towards Sophia, he realized he had overreacted. Liam was right—it was best to ignore her, not giving her any importance. There was no need to butt heads and turn things ugly between them.
He admitted that he was indeed very emotional today, venting his dissatisfaction on Sophia.
"Get some rest; Maya is still waiting for me at home."
After settling Christopher, Liam drove back home.
By the time he returned to the villa, it was already 4 in the morning. Maya had just taken a shower and was lying on the bed, her small hands clenched tightly together, waiting for him to come home.
In the bedroom, seeing Liam return, Maya immediately jumped off the bed, anxiously asking, "How’s Christopher? Is he alright? Is he?"
"He’s fine. Why haven’t you slept yet, Maya? It’s already very late." Liam stroked her head tenderly.
"I was waiting for you." Maya sought a hug from Liam, but he took two steps back to avoid it.
He said, "I just got back from the hospital, I’ll take a shower first."
"Okay!" Maya bit her lower lip and nodded.
Although it was Christmas today, her mood was incredibly heavy, not expecting so many things to happen on Christmas Eve.
A moment later, Liam came out from the bathroom, and Maya rushed into his arms, burying her face into his chest and calling out aggrievedly, "Liam!"
Hearing the girl’s delicate voice, Liam bent down, kissed her on the cheek, and said gently, "I’m here."
"Liam, we must communicate well in the future, no matter what misunderstandings occur." Maya felt sad seeing Seven and Christopher.
She couldn’t even imagine the day she and Liam might part ways, especially for as long as seven years; she’d go insane.
Listening to the girl’s request, Liam nodded, kissed her forehead, and promised, "No matter what happens, I won’t let you fume alone. I’ll always explain everything to you."
Hearing Liam’s promise, Maya lightly placed her hands on his chest, looking up at him, unable to bear the thought of being apart from him for even a second.
Since Liam and Maya got together, their relationship had been smooth. Although there was a slight hiccup due to Ethan’s matters, a single night was enough for it to be resolved.
Maya feared arguing with Liam, scared they’d part ways, and terrified she’d suddenly lose him.
