No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother-Chapter 601 - 599: You Let Me Go [1st Update]
Maya Spencer’s eyes reddened when she mentioned Liam Spencer. She trusted Liam so much, yet in the end, he failed to protect her and did the one thing she found hardest to accept.
He knew full well she hated ’father,’ so how could he push her towards him? Maya couldn’t accept Liam’s presumptuous kindness towards her.
Her heart ached. She trusted Liam so deeply; how could he disappoint her?
"Alright, alright! You don’t want to see him, so I won’t call him. Just stay here with me. When you’ve calmed down, I’ll send you back, okay?" James Bennett tried his best to accommodate her, fearing her dissatisfaction would lead to uncontrolled emotions.
"Tell them to open the door. I want to go home, to my own home." At this moment, Maya didn’t want to see anyone, she just wanted to be alone.
"Maya, I promise you, once you calm down, I’ll send you back immediately." The more Maya clamored to go home, the less James dared to send her back. He needed to keep an eye on her; otherwise, he wouldn’t feel at ease.
Maya’s anger boiled over when she saw James wouldn’t let her go. She rushed up to James and grabbed his collar, commanding, "Open the door, I’m going back."
She didn’t want to stay here, didn’t want to be under the same roof as James.
"Maya, calm down, please?" James held her arms.
Maya felt helpless, not knowing what she could do to gain freedom. She hated the feeling of being powerless and hated being confined by him.
Her gaze darted around the room, then she pushed James away, collided with a shelf, and raised her hands, knocking all the ornaments to the ground, smashing them.
She then gritted her teeth, saying, "James Bennett, are you going to let me go or not? If you don’t, I’ll tear your house apart."
At this moment, Maya was beyond caring if her emotions were out of control; she just wanted to leave.
"Maya, I told you, once you calm down, I’ll send you back." James watched Maya’s crazy antics, feeling pained not by the broken antiques but for her, for her instability, for the harm he had caused her.
Yet he truly couldn’t express his own pain; he didn’t want to argue for himself, just wished Maya would quiet down. As long as she did, he would accept whatever punishment she deemed necessary.
However, Maya’s punishment for him was to stay away, to never see him again.
Seeing James still not complying, refusing to open the door, Maya’s internal fury grew. After smashing the entryway, she ran to the living room, starting to destroy it.
She simply didn’t understand why, whenever she wanted peace, wanted to leave, wanted freedom, it was so difficult. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"Sir, what’s wrong with Miss Maya?" Miss Fisher looked at Maya’s furious demeanor, frightened.
"It’s nothing, let her smash things, as long as it helps her vent her frustration."
But Maya wasn’t feeling any relief; she just wanted to leave, wanted to escape. James’s confinement made her feel extremely desperate, helpless, and frustrated, with a bellyful of anger she couldn’t vent.
James’s indulgence made Maya feel increasingly troubled. She just wanted to oppose him, argue with him, even fight him to vent her frustration, but this man completely ignored her provocations.
She had no way to deal with James, not even a way to leave his home.
Maya hated herself for being so powerless, for always being the passive party, for not being able to retaliate against him.
This resentment drove her to want nothing more than to crash headfirst into the wall of James’s home, so he’d watch her die, and be in shock for a lifetime, haunted by nightmares forever.
So, after smashing things, she suddenly ran towards the living room’s TV wall.
Beside her, James was stunned by Maya’s actions, realizing she was having a breakdown, feeling extremely helpless, really wanting to retaliate against him, playing with her own life as a joke.
Without hesitation, James dashed in front of Maya, standing in her way.
As expected, Maya truly wasn’t thinking straight, but fortunately, he ran fast enough to stop her.
Only, when Maya’s head hit his chest, it nearly knocked the wind out of him.
Ignoring his own chest pain, James spread his arms, holding Maya tightly, pressing his face closely to hers, soothing, "Maya, calm down. You can punish me however you want, even if you want my life. But you can’t hurt yourself, do you hear me?"
Maya’s abrupt collapse frightened James, and startled the housemaids as well.
They watched James hold Maya tightly, all confused, unable to guess what had happened, how a single man for years was now arguing with a young girl at home, what had occurred between them? Everyone was clueless.
Feeling James’s embrace, sensing his warmth, his face pressed against hers, Maya almost went mad, raising her hands to pound James furiously.
"Ah..." screeching in a heart-wrenching scream.
She covered her ears, incessantly shook her head, shouting loudly, "Don’t listen! Don’t listen! I don’t want to hear you speak, don’t want to hear your voice, let me go."
"Let me go! Let me go! Let me go home..." Maya’s voice grew louder, yearning to break her own throat with her scream.
Her heart was filled with a frustration that she couldn’t express. James’s embrace left her unable to move, unable to escape. This feeling was terrifying, hopeless, leaving her no second option but death. She couldn’t think of anything but ending it all.
This hopelessness, anger was indescribable, and it was the first time her symptoms were so severe.
Her appearance terrified James, he’d never expected Maya to loathe him to such an extent.
Had he known earlier that she despised this father so much, he wouldn’t have approached her. He would’ve hidden it from her forever like she asked. But now it was too late, everything was revealed, he had to bear the consequences.
Yet he failed to realize that the longer he held on to Maya, the more desperate she felt. If he were to let her go home, perhaps she’d calm down.
James watched Maya act crazy in his arms, allowing her to intemperately hit him, punch his face and body.
Seeing she couldn’t push James away, Maya almost felt like she might cough blood from rage. She hated herself for being useless, she loathed James for holding her, denying her freedom.
Then, she stood on tiptoes, tightly embraced James’s neck, and viciously bit into it.
